Well, there is Keyes, Underground, First Ward, whichever side your 50 didn't level on, TFs/SFs, flashback missions, AE missions (Yes, there are actual story missions there, some very good ones), badging. You should be able to find a couple of things to do besides BAF and Lambda. (I admit, I am somewhat strange. I actually enjoy all of the things I listed, including Keyes and Underground.)

He is talking about pre-paying for a month and getting his Paragon Points early. And that was never going to happen. And I seriously doubt it ever will.

While this is technically true, on the iTrial sections that keep leagues grouped together for major fights, my Inv typically hits the Incarnate softcap. Since he isn't even close to softcap for regular content, it tells me the buffing that occurs in those fights is enough to make hitting that cap pretty irrelevant for any reasonably built defensive AT. (My Inv tank is not reasonably built for trials or TFs. He will be eventually, but not at present.)

Quote:That is a result of the upgrade they made in the PhysX engine. You need to go to your NVidia control software while the game is not running and there will be a checkbox there to turn it off. It is an Nvidia thing, not a COH thing.Managed to get in once and had an odd additional graphical issue in game.
Game screen came up with large blocky text in upper left corner of screen saying "physx-gpu". Wasn't there last night.
And I guess I will see what happens in a bit when I try to log on, since I am in NW Ohio on Time Warner. -
Quote:Unless their name happens to be Arcanaville. The fundamental truth is that the playerbase has a significant impact on the game, but no particular player is likely to have their individual feedback directly influence the game design at any particular moment.
Seriously, the irony in the juxtaposition of this statement (Which I realize does happen to be true) being made by this particular poster is way too high to ignore.

Quote:But then I wouldn't have them! I might need them someday!Ya know...
using a few of those temp powers might help clear that up a bit.
Quote:You, ah, do know you can actually delete most temp powers, right?
Without needing to use them?
Quote:And all the maps. always all the maps. That way when I got petrified, they had to change me back to get the maps to where we were going. (It took them almost 20 minutes to realize that me being quiet was nice, but getting to the required location was more important.)

I have seen reports and talked to people much lower than Tier 9 that have kept access to their EATs, both red and blue sides. But according to the information put out about the system, that is not WAI and I would not expect it to continue indefinitely.

Quote:Maurice was actually moved over to AP with the other contacts, but for some reason Ouroboros is still looking for him in Galaxy. The effect is the same, you can't do the mission successfully. As Snow mentioned at this time the only other badge mission I know of that can't be done via flashback is Negotiator... I think the problem is that while it is possible to be given the mission by several different contacts if you do it normally... Maurice Feldon shows as the contact when you access the mission via flashback and no one bothered to move Maurice out of Galaxy City when issue 21 hit. Galaxy City remains as an echo but can't be accessed normally and since its impossible to reach the contact when the mission is complete.. you constantly get a message stating the mission can't be accessed at this time.. hopefully they will fix this soon .. should be as simple as switching the designated contact to either Paula Dempsey (KR) or Tony Kord (Atlas) since eother of them are still reachable.
Oh and just to clarify .. if you haven't been to the Echo of Galaxy none of the old contacts that used to be there exist .. at least not in Galaxy. I guess because Paula and Tony gave out the exact same set of missions someone decided maurice wasn't needed any morebut they forgot to remove him as THE point of contact for the Flashback!!!!!
My question about the Efficiency Expert badge is can a level 50 Hero switch to red side and get it? I have almost convinced myself to switch my Hero badger over for the red side badges, but if he can't get that one, I will not bother. -
As already noted in this thread, with an Annual sub (or even better a 14 month sub) plus the Tier 8 150 bonus Points, there are already people paying the equivalent of around $6 a month. And that doesn't take into account the free Server Transfer also included.

And I have had not problem getting Morality mission tips to drop after filling all 5 alignment missions in a day. Or when I only had 1 or 2 missions to fill the bar and still had 3 alignment mission tips I didn't do. And I frequently have the second Morality Mission Tip drop during my run of the first Morality mission that dropped. IOW, random is random.

A listing is being kept up here. The Devs have said they are working on an out of game version of the Market, I am sure it will be here Soon.®

Quote:That is really just another way of saying the same thing, the only difference is players have to keep track of the components, rather than the game automatically putting the different xp types in the right place. The reason for having Shards and Threads is so the players can get exactly what they need, rather than waiting and waiting for what they want to drop. Before they put in the ability to change the various components, there were lots of complaints about having to wait forever to get the threads and the right drop to complete a power. Thanks for that little history lesson. It is exactly what I was looking for as an explanation.
It seems to me, however, that the devs could just have gone with components as the single type of ingredient (along with IXP for unlocking slots). All they would have had to do was create new components to go with new slots and they would solve the stockpiling problem. They could also have had more than just two kinds of IXP. A dedicated IXP "type" for each slot, for instance, rather than just splitting everything into physical and psychic branches.
They are trying to balance it between being interesting and engaging, but not going too fast, without being too grindy, and limiting the ability of min/max munchkins to game it. No matter what, they are guaranteed to tick off someone. -
The 3 things back each other up. When a hit gets through the Defense, the resistance lowers the amount of damage taken, and the regen speeds up healing that damage. A straight Defense set like SR relies almost exclusively on not getting hit. If they do, they take almost all the damage and don't heal it very quickly. Regen takes the hit, but relies on healing it very quickly before taking too much, which can not work too well if they are hit by a really big alpha.
That is basically why Inv and WP are generally considered the top 2 tank sets after Stone. They both have layered defenses, just in different combinations. -

Quote:Already a precedent. Now they need to follow it. Which I am guessing they will do slowly, since they want to give us something every week. Putting in these unlocks at various times can help fill out slow weeks. The problem with this request is that it will set a precedent that unlockable costume pieces can be purchased with points and vice-versa, and the we'll have people clamoring for a way to unlock Steampunk pieces (to mention one) through gameplay.
(Let us just ignore that precedent has already been set with purchasable capes and auras.)
Of course, this could easily be fixed by just mentioning in the store what the in-game unlock requirements are.
Which is different from spending hours hunting them down only in that you don't have to hunt them. The hours are still there. -
The patch notes for the current Halloween build on test show it as being fixed.

Quote:Even easier, hard reset on Tuesdays like the WST.This stuff is getting complicated.
I was going to suggest that new options be added for Null the Gull, but what would be better is if each of the contacts had a line/button/option in their starting text to tell you want your current status is.
So talk to Theoden, he should have an extra option to tell you:
- You are/are not eligible for the bonus "first time" merit on this character.
- You /are eligible for an Alignment Merit reward/will be eligible on Month Date at HH:MM.
Since NPCs are apparently easier to program than UI elements, hopefully this could be add at minimal cost. -
Quote:I know for a fact they don't. I have petitioned some people for blatant infringements of well known characters and they were not genericed. Can you prove beyond the shadow of any doubt that they automatically generic every single petition without verifying any facts.
Quote:Problem being, my character did not resemble that image. It resembled this one:
And that one is public domain (the US government cannot own trademarks or copyrights, by law) and can be used by anyone, for any purpose.
The fact that DC has not trademarked the image or character, because it is in the public domain as you say, is an argument in your favor. You should point it out to the GM when you appeal, since it would be hard to get sued for trademark infringement when there is no trademark registered.
But hard is not the same as impossible. And while Uncle Sam as the spirit or personification of the USA is not new, Uncle Sam as a super-hero is. You are using Uncle Sam as a super-hero, and Quality Comics, and now DC Comics beat you to it. The GMs may allow your character based on the public domain status, or disallow it to avoid a lawsuit over the concept being stolen.
I think you are correct about being able to use it, but I am not a lawyer, and I am not the one that would have to spend the money to defend myself in a lawsuit. Since even a successful defense is very expensive, companies tend to err on the side of caution.
Quote:I've got the same issue with an alt. I chose a name that was a rank title of a elite military unit that was in regular service for about six-hundred years. I logged in and my comics nerd friend immediately said "Oh, that's a DC character."
*boggles. Googles*
I actually found three listings for the name, none higher up than the end of page 2 of the Google search. The name was used once by Marvel as a one-off villain in 1963, once by DC as a one-off villain in 1991, and a couple of times as a hyper-obscure DC z-list hero with a half-dozen guest appearances over a decade ago. None of them even has a Wiki entry. They're that obscure. Yes, my friend is a serious comics nerd indeed. Needless to say, my character has no resemblance whatsoever to any of them.
So do these trivial uses as throwaway background characters really trump the future use by anyone of a proper noun of 16th century derivation that has been in common usage for almost five hundred years?
So no I'm not renaming the character, but every time I log him in I feel twitchy, and that annoys me. -
Quote:If you aren't in a rush, the repetition isn't bad. I don't team very much, so most nights I don't do Trials, other nights I will do 4 or 5, usually different ones. My Alpha is T4 (With another T4 and T1 of different kinds being put together from random drops) and I am working on the second T3 for the other slots. One way I have found to keep from getting burnt out is to try for the various badges when attempts are made for them. Last night I joined a MoLambda, which ended up with 4 runs of the trial. (And no Master badge for me because I crashed from the memory leak right at the end of the Well-Stocked run.I just wanted to get a sense of how much the current Incarnate Trial content can fill out a character's Incarnate slots, assuming only very modest repetition. I realize that there will be more Trials coming in the future, but there will also be more slots to unlock/fill coming too.
) But it really didn't bother me to do it over and over because we were working toward a specific goal.
Same thing when making a try for Avoid the Green Stuff badge on Keyes. 3 runs, none successful for that badge unfortunately, but working on that goal and practicing for it made the runs different enough to avoid burn out. And in the meantime, picking up lots of Astrals, threads, and components.
As for why there are different kinds of components for the Incarnate abilities, it is because the different slots were added at different times. Shards were put into the game with random drops possible in all content, when the Alpha slot was added. But at the time, there were no Trials and no way to get components beyond TFs and Shard drops. But people went all out getting them, building the powers, and stockpiling the drops for the next Incarnate abilities.
The Devs knew this would happen, and planned on the Threads being the major building block for the other powers, but it was only available in Incarnate Trials. If they had not changed the building method for the second 4 Incarnate ability, there would have been people with T4s in all of the powers as soon as they could get the IXP to unlock the slot. On the first day. Probably without having to even run the trials.
The really bad news is, right now we have a long time between releases of new Incarnate slots. And people are still grinding out trials, building up stockpiles of components and threads. So Posi has already said don't be surprised if there is a new level of components and building blocks for the next wave of Incarnate powers. Which to me is a good reason not to grind out the trials like mad right now. Run them enough to keep my enjoyment and get the stuff I need and/or want, then do other stuff. -
Quote:As he said, they did not delete any characters just freed up the names. GlacialDrift should still have his characters somewhere on a server.

Quote:You aren't the first. I forgot to change the account name when logging in and went to a server to find no characters whatsoever. Realized what I had done when I checked a different server and found the wrong characters. Now the 2 accounts have different passwords.thanks, its fixed. dumb user error. Somehow I had a second inactive account out there that I was using by accident.

And if you want to know how the old boosters stack up against the current bundles and Market, you can check out Snow Globe's comparison of the two.
