Ok, whats the difference in enhancement sets?

I notice the shop is selling red fortune enhancement sets and there is a red fortune you buy from auction and/or buy with reward merits or villian merits.

But what is the difference?

Do the enhancements you buy from the paragon market come pre boosted or something? The description in the paragon market is very vague and gives almost no detail.

they're all the same as far as anyone knows or has been told, it's simply an alternate way for players to get it.

Not entirely true -- the sets you purchase in the Paragon Market are "attuned," which means they are always matched to the level of the slotting character.

always matched meaning they level up with you even while slotted, or that when you purchase them they match your level?

Always matched meaning always, the wording was not ambiguous.

@Draeth Darkstar
Virtue [Heroes, Roleplay], Freedom [Villains], Exalted [All Sides, Roleplay]
Code:
I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30))
Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.

They always match your level. They level up when you level up, and they even scale down when you exemplar, so you get to keep the set bonuses.

However, attuned items cannot be given to characters that are not on your account.

True for these items, but note that "attuned" and "account bound" are two separate attributes, so there's nothing saying that something could be introduced later that is "attuned" but NOT bound to the account...

Yes, which is why I asked for clarification on the context, since that makes a big difference.

Okay, I confess I have not thoroughly investigated every branch of the Paragon Market, but am I to understand that full IO sets can be purchased for real world money from the Paragon Market, and furthermore they have the characteristic of leveling up with the toon so that they never ever have to be replaced? Holy crap!

I'm going to have to check this out, just out of sheer curiosity (i.e., which IO sets are available and how much they cost). I personally dislike the notion of using real money to buy power increases normally obtained through game play, but I can see how this might pull in big revenue for NCSoft.

That's a fascinating tidbit that appreciably ups their value in my eyes.

Are we SURE about this?

Yes it is true you can buy a LIMITED selection of full IO sets from the Paragon Market. But as I said it is a VERY LIMITED selection. No rares. Only uncommon sets. That said there's a few gems to be had there... Doctored Wounds, Reactive Armor, Red Fortune and Karma (for the -KB IO) immediately come to mind.

Yeah, that actually sounds good.

I am thinking about buying the Red Fortune, the Karma, and maybe a Steadfast Protection (Provided they sell it, of course.) myself for my future Crab Spider and my newly inducted Night Widow.

This info might make it a good investment.

It's a shame you can't build "attunement" into an IO at the crafting table...

I don't think the attuned IO sets will exemp below the min lvl required to slot them. If the set is normally a 25-50 set on the market you can't slot the attuned versions until 22, and don't think the set bonuses will exempt below that same threshold.

Level 50s: to many to remember at this point

That's an important and powerful caveat.

Steadfast Protection is not available in the PMarket. I have no idea why. No damage resistance sets are.

...except Titanium Coating and Reactive Armor.

They're under the Defense Sets category, which is confusing (there's then subcategories of Defense and Resist). But they are there.

...Ooohhh, I seeeeeee that now. I saw Defense and didn't even drill down into it thinking it would be, obviously, for Defense sets - since the rest of them are placed within categories that match their type. Derp!

Another important point to be made is that these 'IO's are useable even if normal IOs are not unlocked, consequently can be used by premium players. That -KB IO is awesome IMO...

IO sets don't *need* to be replaced in any case, at least in the sense that they don't go red. I slot up my characters with IO sets around the mid-30s, and I never replace them. The values are close enough to the level 50 values that I've never seen the point in it.

I have more than one character that I built largely with lvl 25 and lvl 27 IOs. The difference in the stats between those levels and the max level IO for the sets are real, but not large enough to be worth more than being able to mal down. A lot of the smallness of the differences is due to ED.

Yes isn't really cool.

So far it only uncommon sets. Though the knockback resistance IO is one of them.
