I'm not going to make it next weekend, I'm afraid. After yesterday's news I just don't have the heart to do it. I hope you guys all manage to have a good time, events notwithstanding.

If that's the main issue, then your friend should open a support ticket, and get some help from CS to get back into their account.

This one made me laugh out loud when I first saw it in AE:
Architect Patron: This is the third time my mission 'Statesman's Furry Adventure' was rejected for violating the terms of service. -

It seems like too much coding effort for a problem that can be solved by placing a bid on the market, and while waiting for it to fill going to punch some bad guys who might drop the salvage anyway.

Quote:So...If the reason you are maintaining VIP is for the T9 VIP costumes, but either you have them all currently or are disinterested in the current ones and like me could give less two flying farts about the regular tier 9 repeatable stuff you really have no motivation to maintain a PAID VIP account, but if you can trade in a token (or maybe 3 tokens) once every 3 months of PAID time for an extra 300pp you might be more willing to keep it as it would make affording the powers and costumes you do want a bit easier.
...there exists this hypothetical pool of people who value a sub solely for access to the VIP Tier 9 costumes. Of these people, there is a subset who aren't willing to maintain their subscription for the 550PP a month they get right now, but would be willing to maintain a subscription for 550PP a month PLUS 300PP every three months.
I think that pool of people is small. I know they're bad at maths.
If you're broke, and you really don't want anything else that a sub gives you other than access to the VIP costumes, then you should probably unsub to get the best value for you. You'll be able to buy far more PPs than you would get in VIP bonuses, sub for a month a couple of times a year to pick up the costumes, and still spend less money to do it. -
I don't know about childish, but if people can't accept that a computer game is not a book, or a computer game is not a tabletop RPG, or an MMO is not a single player game, etc, then they're pretty much starting from a doomed position.

No, the market players picked the OF set up cheaply on the market during the event and filled a few storage bins with them, ensuring they have all they want for personal use plus plenty to sell.
-
Personally, I'd try asking in the Markets and Inventions forums. If you can offer a really substantial amount of inf, then someone might come up with one.
Otherwise, I can only suggest you keep a careful watch for community team-run competitions and events, and also any player-run events that have community team support with their prizes. I got my Ring Mistress costume code as a prize in the 2010 Halloween Ball event. -

Apparently, she was always supposed to be 18 in the Faultline arcs, and is 23 'now' - i.e. when she replaces Sister Psyche in the Phalanx. That boggled me a little, but when I went back ad read the Faultline arcs there wasn't anything specifically that contradicted it. I guess she's just a slightly immature 18.

I don't know -- do we get to design the costume, too? Or maybe different people can pick a costume part for each zone, just to make it a real collaborative effort.
Also, I vote for: Energy/Storm Corr! Awesome chaotic fun. -
You could always wait until there are a few market powersets out that you want to try, and sub for a month. You'll get access to the powersets for a month on the Beta server, which should be plenty of time to try them out, plus 400 points towards buying them if you decide you want them and another reward token.
(Unless you've already applied all the box codes, you can usually get a month's sub for less than $15, too, plus possibly some extra account benefits that you'll keep after dropping back to Premium.) -
Quote:I'm not sure how you could solve that one, though. I really don't think many people would want RoF to cancel just because it missed a target -- I know I wouldn't. If I cast RoF on my location, and it missed the first of the pack of melee critters steaming towards me, and then self-cancelled instead of staying there as a nice keep-away power, that would be bad.*Use RoF against a single target.*
"Ha! You missed me!"
"...But you're right in front of me. I saw the fire hit you in the head. The fire is STILL hitting you in the head. I'm looking right at it."
"Nope! You missed!"
In general, while I agree that the punching animation for Shadow Maul looks really stupid when you miss, I think your solution is overly elaborate. It seems a lot more complicated to start building a whole new system that can change one power activation into another depending on whether the first power hit or missed, than to just change the animations for the handful of silly-looking powers. -
Quote:The Going Rogue box set is definitely a good buy. As well as a month's free time and the accompanying 400 Paragon Points, and two reward tokens (or one, if you've already applied another retail code), you get access to a bunch of stuff that will stay unlocked when you drop back to Premium. If 1 month is all that is required for tier 2, then i can always get the going rogue:complete box and use that instead.
Amazon are currently selling it for $6.74. -
Quote:Just adding to this -- if you want to have in-game side switching, don't buy the Alignment System on the Market, either! You can pick up a cheap copy of the Going Rogue box set, instead, and apply the code to your account, which will give you the alignment system, a month of VIP time, plus other goodies that you'll keep once you drop back to Premium. I just had a look on Amazon, and you can get it at the moment for $6.76.You could buy the Alignment System so you can switch sides and get Patron Pools (Don't buy Alignment Change Tokens! The full Alignment System is a permanent unlock for all your characters, costs about the same as a round-trip for just one by tokens.
(Just make sure that the copy you buy is described as 'new' or 'factory sealed' or in some other way indicates that the code has not been used. Anything that says 'played once' or similar avoid completely, as the code will be useless and that's the only part you care about.) -
If you move a character to a new server with a name conflict, then you'll be given a free rename. You do not need to rename the character instantly.
What I would do is:
Move the character as is.
Delete the character with the hyphen.
Rename the moved character.
That will work fine, and it will save you buying a rename token.
You can create a placeholder character with your character's preferred name on your old server, to keep the name while you're away. When you come home, do the same thing in reverse. -
I always like the day-at-a-time post for things like this, but if it's going to feel like a chore for you, then dump away :-)

Quote:It's possible, but it can be painful. Unless you can put together a team, or crank up the difficulty solo, then you're very likely going to end up with a gap of a few levels between the end of First Ward and be beginning of Night Ward. Be prepared for a lot of street sweeping and repeatable missions.1. Is it now possible to play strictly Praetorian until level 35 without visiting Primal Earth? I.e., can I go right from Neutropolis at level 20 to First Ward, and then Night Ward at level 30, or do I have to make a pit stop to Primal Earth at level 20 first?
