Not in the least. I budget a specific amount of money for entertainment and other frivolous expenses every month. This month a portion of that is going to this game instead of other forms of entertainment. While I'm not likely to drop as much money on the game again (aside from my yearly sub), I'm not sacrificing anything important to do it.

@Doctor Gemini

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.

My normal account had no problems, but my old Euro account seemed to block buying loads of points.

Spent 5 bucks on each account (have 2) for the token. Still have 700-800 points on each account. No plans with them yet.

I dropped $20 to get the 2 tokens to fill out tier 7. I doubt I'll spend more anytime soon (other than my monthly subscription)...but I could be wrong.

I bought Beam Rifle, the Barbarian pack, and 5 charges of self rez. I had planned to buy some of the recipe and salvage increases but decided they were too expensive.

I'm still undecided about the Hover Board. It'd be useful, but 10k inf gets me a flight pack, and I'm far richer in game than out of game. Maybe later if the stipend goes unspent for a couple months.

I have enough points to buy Street Justice when it comes out and some of the Holloween stuff if I like it (which will depend on if it's horror or cutesy based)

I have two accounts, one with 1200 points, the other with 800 (these are my third and second accounts). The only thing I have definite plans for buying is First Ward content, but Street Justice isn't out of the question.

As for real money, I had plans to pay a little to go up the tiers, but that plan included a lot of optimistic calculations based on a re-referral programme being active and getting a token during the transition to head start. Without that (which happens to be the case) I'll be a little too far from the next tiers to be within my budget. I will probably still go VIP for a little while on my main account if and when solo Incarnate content becomes available. I'm willing to spend up to about $50 (half my yearly gaming budget) on CoH, but only if I feel I'm getting a significant benefit from it.

I can see this becoming scarily expensive.

For those of us who are RPers or suffer ALTisis, or simply must have everything, the new micro transaction system it just too tempting.

It took a whole 15 mins after they fixed the Mac font bug for me to blow my 1600 on an extra 10 enhancement slots, then my fingers itched, I dropped £34 (I assume the equiv of the $50 bundle) and then it was the backpack, the hover board (I know it's too expensive but the idea is just so cool!), etc. And just for paying them money I got to move up a tier in the vet rewards!

It's very tempting for an impulse buyer like me. I can see my characters having everything, and me sitting at home eating beans. :-\

I think given how insidious this is, NCSoft now officially count as an villainous crime syndicate!

NCSoft, you evil fiend! Now shut up and take my money! lol!

I'm familiar with LOTRO's microtransaction system which has gigged my household for up to $100 at a time when a big sale hits and hubby and I agree on $50/each. We're lifetimers there so, so it doesn't feel so bad since we don't pay a sub fee.

For me in LOTRO it's been storage, convenience functions (faster teleport recharges), character slots, and costume slots that cause these spending binges. I've a feeling it will be much the same here. I've already spent 800 points buying costume sets.

I'll be getting point cards as well as the usual time cards for Christmas presents for my brother this year.

I can haz costume slots!
/em happydance

PS: Don't be shocked at how much I and others spend. Budgets vary, and for some people (like me) MMOs are our entertainment budget! It's still cheaper than a movie and dinner for two. Have you seen the price of movie popcorn lately? I'm over 40 and 'expensive' is relative. Fallen tree removal, leaky roofs, and car repairs are expensive. Even point bundles can't compete with a $7k bill for replacing your HVAC and upgrading the ventilation system after its been struck by lightning.

That would be so cool!

Haven't tried it with real money, but in the beta it was:

First purchase of points = One token
Every $15 (including first purchase) = One reward token
$15 = 1320 points (bonus points due to buying in bulk; it would be 1200 if you bought $5 at a time).

So spending $15 would get you two tokens and 1320 points.

I'm guilty of spending a little over $100,split among the two accounts. What I enjoy now is having 20 extra enhancement slots for each character(which helps a huge amount when it comes to respecs it will helping using less of them to unslot the valuable ones to store in the previously capped 10 limit tray.)

I'm happy that I was able to get the Barbarian costume and BR for both accounts with the accumulated Paragon Points since the program started.

As for spending more, pretty content for what I've already purchased and don't expect to spend more, aside from the regular monthly subscription.

Halloween is coming in over a month so perhaps we'll see themed stuff for it soon!

[Beta Testers]Zombie Man: Harlot is Swan's nickname too. And Dominatrix. And Sister Psyche. And Mynx. And Bobcat. And Synapse.

Bought the 8k points pack for my main account to get celestial armour. Going to spend at least half of the points on inventory increases and powersets, stockpiling the rest (+ the reward tokens) for future purchases.

Going to drop the subscription on my second account so it's not that bad of a situation money wise...

Out of my 1600 points or so they gave us I still have over 1100 I guess. I got the 5 pack of enhancement boosters, hero stance emote and steampunk gloves. Didnt need any server transfers, staying on Virtue but made a new Hero Alpha on Exalted. I am saving 1000 points to unlock peacebringers if I drop to premium.

i have 500 pts left, got beam rifle, barbarian and 3 of the dances I didnt get from the party pack. I'm taking my time on things, no rush here, there will be money in time, but for now, I dont NEED anything else. some more costumes and powers come down the pipe, we will see how things go, cot and gunslinger will be bought, so will street justice, titan weps and if..in theory..they make a staff set, i'd be willing to check that out. but the key to my cash is costumes, they may act accordingly if they want.

Well look who's laughing now?
Free to play a very limited version of the game is not the same thing as F2P.

Don't cue up the laugh track yet.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Yea, it's the case on live too. When I bought $15 of points on Friday it gave me 2 tokens.

I messed up...

I had about $20 I could spend on points this month. Instead of being smart and buying the 400 points package 1st time out, to get the reward token, and then buying the $15 package, to get another token. I bought the $15 package 1st.
So I think I jipped myself out of a token. Oh well.

Actually, the smart thing is buying the $15 package only, if what you're interested in is the tokens, since that gives you two tokens. See the message above yours.

Indeed! I was hoping it worked like that, the bonus token being for 1st purchase regardless.
