Unless this guy is thwarting an alien invasion...why the hell does he need it? is BANE going to really be THAT badass?
Wow. There is nothing sleek, stealthy, or even remotely bat-like about the vehicles in this re-imagining. If Nolan's goal was to portray on film what Batman would be like in the real world I really wish he'd have gone a more pragmatic route. Nolan's Batman lacks the grace and poise vital and inherent to the character's very being.
Honestly, if we saw one of those today, it really wouldn't take long for someone to figure out who would have the means to acquire something like that and it goes without saying that it would be a very short list. I just have a hard time divorcing myself from the unlikelihood. It would probably be easier for me to suspend disbelief if he didn't go on record saying he wanted it to be a realistic portrayal.
Sorry for the nerd rage. I promised myself I wouldn't but, I swear, every time he does something off-the-mark and gets lauded for it I want to shake my fist at the sky and curse at the gods. Why can't the guys who did the Arkham Asylum video game have directed this movie? While it was less grounded in reality, it's certainly a more abject lesson in realism.

From that picture it looks less like a aircraft and more like a mech.
I would think everything below the cockpit is the dolly used to make it look like its flying and should probably be ignored.
Ok, who thought it was a good idea to put ED-209 in a Batman movie?
Way to many alts.
I want that as a travel power in the game. Screw rocket boards!
Does.... does that thing have arms?!

Somebody went crazy with an Erector Set and black spray paint
Michael Bay has secretly taking control over this movie.

My second favorite? The Tumbler. Brute force, efficiency, nothing wasted on appearance except what was needed to make it go, go fast, go hard, and go more. No waxing this puppy. No worries about denting the shiny. It matches the psychological aesthetic of the new Batman. It's the weapon you go with against a guy like Heath Ledger's Joker, just like the Batmobile from the first movie was the right weapon to go after Jack Nicholson with. (Ok, sorta.).
I don't really know what I'm looking at in that picture, but I like the general look and feel of the tech in the new series of movies, so I trust it will all work out in the end.

Eh... I miss this:
Freedom
Blueside: Knight'Hawk, lvl 50, Scrapper
Yellowside: Dark'Falcon (Loyalist), lvl 20, Blaster
That Stinging Sensation #482183
I'll wait to see it in action before I pass judgement. When I first saw the Tumbler/Batmobile, I thought "What the crap? That looks slow and stupid." Then I saw the movie and thought "I want one."
EDIT: Here's another photo, apparently of a full-size version suspended by cables.
The vibe I'm getting is that, like the rest of Nolan's Batman's technology, this was originally designed for military applications. It looks like an urban-combat gunship, nimble enough to maneuver in areas that an ordinary helicopter couldn't.

If they ever made a (Ted Kord) Blue Beetle movie, I could see him in a vehicle like that. But it doesn't look very Batman-like to me. The Tumbler suffered from that as well. They could use some Bat-stylistic touches, at the least.

I wonder if that is some sort of folded-wing design, using more jet thrust in urban areas and a fold-out wing for distance. It should definitely function like a Harrier.
Taking bets that it's a 2nd generation Tumbler, commisioned after the 1st one was scrapped. Able to hover and propel itself over greater distances than the SuperJump Tumbler was cabable of.
I expect, looking at the unfolded look. That it actually starts out as the Tumbler we all recognize, and then when needed, instead of the rocket boost jump this one unfolds and has turbines that propel it in the air at decent speed. Maybe has a maxium altitude of 100 feet.
Those could be directional gun turrets on the sides, either for ordinance or for grappling hooks/bridge cable.
