Hello all,
Never thought this day would ever come, but here we are with time winding down on Paragon City.
I wanted to take the opportunity to say farewell to the Triumph community. There are so many of you I have teamed with over the years, it would take too long to type out everyone's name. It has been an honor and a privilege to play CoX with with you on Triumph over the years. Some of you I have gotten to know and become friends with in real life, and I have CoX to thank for bringing us together. It's truly heartbreaking for me to think about never being able to log in to Paragon City again and seeing the global friends list lit up, donning the cape and tights for some CoX fun with my friends.
With the game coming to an end, I've found myself reminiscing about City of Heroes quite a lot lately. I'm going to miss this game very much. It breaks my heart to see it go. I honestly looked forward to playing CoH with my son one day when he got older.
Recently, I dug out a piece of artwork I had commissioned from MMOArt years ago of Miss Foley and Mini Miss Foley. It was a birthday gift for my friend - Miss Foley - a person with whom I have never laughed so hard or had so much fun in game with. It was sitting in my closet since we moved to our new home and I'm going to get a new frame for it and hang it on my wall. I also found a sketchbook of my main toons that I had various artists draw over the years at the NYCC.
Even more than these pieces of art, there are so many fond memories, so many fun times I have had and shared with you all in the Triumph community over the last 8 years. I cannot find the words to express to you all how much joy and laughter you brought me, so I will just say from the bottom of my heart, "Thank You". And very big thank you to everyong at Paragon Studios for the years of joy.
I wish you all the best and hope to see you all again one day. I certainly hope one day there will be another superhero MMO that can measure up to City of Heroes, and that I will find you all there again.
All the best to you and your families. I will miss you all.

I just realized that November 30th will be the last time I can log in and antagonize my beloved pet Monkey. Pardon me whilst I go and cry ...

Don't care what or when, but a chance for us to all say our farewells.
This. Turbo emailed me this morning and I didn't believe it. It's really sad to see the game going. I literally got choked up reading the news. -

I've been enjoying these signature story arc missions so far. Monkey asked Back Alley Brawler if he could take up Stateman's mantle as uber hero of Paragon City. BaB just laughed, then Monkey pooped on his shoe.

My wife and I welcomed Zachary Toichiro December 6th, 2011. 6 lbs, 13 1/2 ounces and 20 inches.
He is a future scrapper! -

I was going to go on there and see if Turbo posted any new pics of him wearning his Batman underoos only to find the site being directed to Paragon Wiki? What gives?

Won't be wasting the funds to go an see this sure to be crapfest... however, I am holding out hope that this Hollywood remake trend continues and they bring T.J. H00ker to the big screen!
Edit: lol on the filter -
And quite a few other classics.... TBH, that snippet of "Learning to Fly" isn't all that bad IMO.

The over commercialization of Christmas is why I gave up on it as a holiday. I celebrate Festivus instead.
A Festivus for the rest of us!
Now if you'll all excuse me, I'm off to go and shop for a new aluminum pole... -

Quote:For an analogy, do you simply accept what an automaker tells you about their product before buying a car from them? Or do you look for information from people who aren't being paid to tell you the product is great?
Quote:Even if the devs did let us preview powersets before we buy them, that isn't going to tell us squat about how that set plays at 50, or how it synergizes with other powersets. -
Quote:On the flipside, simply because you find them reasonable doesn't make it so either. There WERE reasonable means of previewing and testing.
Simply because YOU find them unreasonable doesn't mean it is.
You seem to be assuming every person had access to the Street Justice set while it was in BETA, and were able to afford the time to level a character there and test it out completely. You also seem to be ignoring the new players coming in who don't really get (IMO) a good method of trying out powersets before purchasing them.
Just for the record, I was in the i21 BETA and did get to test this set out before buying it. That said, I can understand there are those out there who did not have the opportunity I had by being in the i21 BETA. I am not in any way asking for a refund. I am simply expressing an opinion that the store/game in general can use some improvements when it comes to allowing customers to better preview/test an item out before paying real money for it. -

Quote:Aside from characters like Alfred and Rachel, it's fairly obvious Lucious Fox knows who Batman really is in the Nolan films. That accountant (Reese) figured it out as well. I would go so far as to say Gordon knows who Batman is too as he is not a total moron. In most cases, the characters are portrayed as agreeing with what Batman is doing, so they are inclined to let him do his thing. At least to me, that is rather realistic.Honestly, if we saw one of those today, it really wouldn't take long for someone to figure out who would have the means to acquire something like that and it goes without saying that it would be a very short list. I just have a hard time divorcing myself from the unlikelihood. It would probably be easier for me to suspend disbelief if he didn't go on record saying he wanted it to be a realistic portrayal.

More photos shown here.
He's not wearing the cape in these, but you get a better look at the suit up close. I really don't care for the plastic design. The lack of briefs makes him look like he's running around in his Kryptonian onesy to me.
