Don't all movies nowadays?

Goyer and Nolan are doing the story, so that bodes well. And for me, Snyder's only failed to deliver on Sucker Punch.

I don't mind the hair (though it makes him look a tad like Christian Slater from this angle). I'd read somewhere else where the picture is displayed that the missing "spitcurl" is on his Clark Kent persona, and apparently is being kept separate as another minor disguise level like the amazing, hides-everything glasses.

The textured suit bothers me, but only because it looks a bit like scales, which makes me think "why would Supes need scale armor"?

They probably don't want to go with a smooth suit texture because they're afraid it'll look rubbery, but if they could go with a smooth more cloth-like texture I would have preferred that any day.

It's either that or a Linkin Park song.....or that damned Bodies Hit the Floor.

I really don't like when people on youtube do that.

Looks good. But I'll probably be happy as long as he doesn't use his super-senses to spy on the mother of his illegitimate child at home. Because that was super-creepy.

I don't like the texture suit.
Hair I hoping is just messed up, cause if not boo.
There doe's seem to be some sort of texture or addition on the outside thigh, looks sorta diamond shaped?

I played around a bit with the colors and I don't see a brief or shorts at all, though it could just be a really shadowed.
I highlighted the colors hopefully it's just all the smoke in the image that makes it look so dark (probably not) the suit looks much better with brighter colors.

Couple of things; that promotional shot is desaturated with regards to color; there's another photo that is purportedly the unmodified shot and the blues and reds are much richer, as they should be.

The scale effect is there for contrast; a simple suit ala Christopher Reeve's would have no depth or texture for the light to play off of and you can see in this picture that there is in this costume. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it works for their purpose.

Is his hair a bit big? Yes, but this could be just a promo shot before he gets his hair a bit shorter for the actual role. There's no indication I can see that it has tights or not, either. There's also nothing on his leg, it's just the play of light and shadow.

I'd also point out these are more vivid colors than Superman Returns, which had a very muted palette.

This was courtesy of an SGmate on our private forums, but I think it illustrates the point; it's very clear they desaturated the colors, for what reason I have no idea, but here's a clear comparison. Btw, I do have to amend my statement from before....there is something on the upper thigh and the wrists have some sort of scalloped cuff.

I think it more the designers are most likely trying to convey his costume as being crafted from "Kryptonian fabric/materials" versus him having "armor".

Count me among those who feel the suit looks ridiculous. I personally don't mind some texturing to the fabric they use, but this looks over the top IMO.

I still think Brandon Routh should have been Superman again.

Then you will really wonder about Supermans ceremonial Kyrptonian armor due to appear in comics.

To be fair, such a thing makes plenty of sense in the context of Krypton itself. I mean, Kryptonians don't have superpowers there.

/signed and /cosigned to all who don't like the Toby Maguire "Spider-Man" pattern in Superman's costume. I think it worked for Spidey, but it's not for the Man of Steel.

Out of curiosity, if they DIDN'T give Superman's costume trunks, then what's the point of him having a belt? This goes double for his upcoming Kraptonian ceremonial armor costume.

And yes, I know how to spell "Kryptonian".

On the plus side...the colors are not as dark as I thought. So...yay for that.

Hmm, interesting. I am aware of certain times Supes wore armor or some sort of protection (such as space suit for the extended space walks in JLU on TV), but I seem to recall it was only if he was potentially out-gunned, or de-powered (didn't he wear Kryptonian armor for a time after his "death"?)

I love that the S emblem is big. The lack of red briefs bugs me, but as I understand it that's a Jim Lee redesign that is currently or will soon be appearing in the comics.

I don't care for the continued trend of over-texturing superhero costumes, but I can overlook that.

I think that was the Eradicator but Superman might have . Between Superman Red and Blue and all the wannabes after Death od Superman there have been a lot of different looks.

I hate the hair. I love the S. I hate the muted colours, but I'll get over it . I hate the bump mapping on the suit. Yes that's what i'm calling it. I hate the no red briefs thing, and I also hate the DC redesign.
Overall, I'm ...hopeful. Left field, right.

...The post from Zwill looks better than the real thing =p
