My family's Christmas party is the day after this starts. Then, from Dec. 30 to Jan. 1 I'm busy at a New Year's 'relaxacon'. Not to mention all my regular RL stuff, and I don't know how much time I'll have for this.

Three weekends is just about right for me. I would probably be burned out on it by then and start ignoring it. But any shorter and it doesn't seem worth the effort to have an event at all. So I think this is about perfect. |

Now if they could just make winter take effect in the regular zones and actually have some snow!
I like the Winter Event just for the ski chalet if nothing else. It's a nice change of pace as a hang out spot, kinda wish they would leave it open longer even if the mission giver and other event related activities were cut short.

I'm going to be very straight forward about this: The Event Is Starting Too Late This Year!
I'm sorry but being a DJ for a CoH Community Radio Station, we have had Holiday events going on for the last couple of weeks already. Yearly Events that used to be held in the Chalet. Now outside of the year that the Winter Event lasted for 2 months, usually its gone for about 6 weeks. Considering that it has a zone that is only available for this event, the amount of new players/characters fro Going rogue that do not have the event badges, and the fact that it is over most schools winter breaks, where people go on vacation, I really think the devs messed this up. It should have started earlier.
Yes there was a little problem due to I19 having to be pushed back by 2 weeks, but last week on Thursday, they did a test of it on the test server or the beta server (can't remember which) which I heard went well. They should have released it this week, or this Tuesday at the latest.
I know I will enjoy the event, and the chance to be in the chalet again, I just really wish the devs had not messed up on time frames, so SGs, Radio Stations, and others could spread out Chalet events that they run instead of cramming it all into a 2 week time frame.

Have to agree it is not long enough this year. Not all of us are students with 2-3 weeks off.
Many have careers that operate 24/7/365. With the holiday season being the busiest times of the year.
Add on top of that, the need to find time for family, shopping, prep/cook holiday meals,and extra hours at work.For some of us,it leaves little time for CoH play.
It would be nice if they extended the time to be more in-line with the past years.
For those who tire of the event...simple..don't participate.It is a fairly unobtrusive event.If the complaint is they cannot find teams outside of the Chalet....well.....what does that indicate?
I believe our children are our future and I reflect on the lessons and values we taught them.
I believe the world has many real Villains,what we need are more Heroes.

I agree that the Winter Event is too short this year. I don't like feeling rushed to complete everything on the characters I want. Another week or two (at least) would be preferable.
Seriously. All these Winter events and they can't do something about that ugly model? Unless it's an in-joke (ref: the cigar-chomping baby from Roger Rabbit)

Can we get a Crimmas miracle?
They might extend the event like they did with free server transfers last year (although I believe that was to accomadate a Double XP Weekend).
Yeah, It seems too short for me as well. I have about 50 dozen cookies to bake, 3 gallons of Jam, 2 gallons of Barbeque sauce and 2 gallons of Salsa to can. As well as a party to prepare, house to decorate, presents to buy, wrap amd mail. The normal cooking and cleaning and laundry. Oh yeah, work as well. I am only getting about 5 hours of sleep now, I can't cut anymore out.
An extra week tacked on to the end would certainly help.

Pity the winter event is so short. I'd wish it lasted abit longer (a week more would be nice).
Hmm, I cannot but laugh or grin seeing the date (but I should have known it would have been so). There should be a lot of players on friday and saturday. Just hope they are keen to do a little "Christmas Bashing of Hamidon" on my server. :P

I predict the servers will go wonky over the long Christmas weekend and they'll extend the Winter Event as a compensatory gesture.

Personally I wouldn't mind one bit if they did extend the event a few weeks. It's not like it really affects any zone except Pocket D after all and the ski slops are a kinda fun little "mini-game".

I'm not saying they're planning it that way, they may not even know they're going to do it yet, but I still bet they do.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.

Part of me thinks they would like to have longer seasonal events, in general, like they used to. The other part of me is thinking someone else won't let them.

I love the Winter Event. I might ask for at least a few more days, maybe 1 week longer, but I will take what I get!
