Quote:I don't know about every one of course, but LotRO and DDO are both still fairly healthy, and LotRO has seen a very marked increase (by some accounts nearly doubling) in profits since going with a "freemium" system much like TOR's (though not quite as restrictive to F2P accounts). From what I've heard, the same applies to DDO, albeit not as big a change. By all accounts our own beloved City was doing fairly well since the changeover as well of course.Someone should research all the games that went f2p from a subscription model and see how much longer it extended their lifespan. I give swtor a year tops until it folds after going f2p. I might play a little just to check out what changed since last time I played in February, too bad I can't even remember the server I played on though(I had a trooper in the reddit republic iirc).
Not sure offhand about any other "big name" MMO's that switched from pay-to-play to F2P or freemium. Either way, just because a game switches its subscription model doesn't necessarily translate into the beginning of a funeral dirge. It remains to be seen if it helps ToR any.
Edit to add that if you do choose to check out your old character(s), just login, go to the server select screen and look for where you've been moved to. There is a column at that screen displaying how many characters your account has on any given server. -
Harbinger you say? I might have to hit you up Empire side then. I've mostly been doing the loner thing in TOR since my testing "Squadron" (238 represent!) scattered to the four winds at launch, and I wouldn't mind hooking up with some other City folks. Got a 50 Merc and a 50 Juggertank, along with a couple other mid-level toons. Neither are anything fancy, since I've not really done much at all on the endgame side of things, but they can hold their own in most anything non-Op or WZ. Not a fan at all of PvP in the game though, so don't expect me to partake of that aspect of the game. City and Eve are the only two games I've ever enjoyed PvP'ing in, and that's not likely to change anytime soon, heh.
Oh, I'm mostly on either 50 over there, so can give me a holler on Anna-Lina or Orrunom if anyone likes, though I am also known to be on my Inquisitor from time to time leveling him up. He goes by We'ken. Anyways, next time I'm on I'll see about tracking someone down for that Empire guild!

Quote:You know, now that you mention it I don't believe I got my September token either. I got the 12 for my vet badges, 3 for my active years plus one for the retail code and one for an account, making a total of 17, which is all I've had. I guess I should update my ticket to reflect this.Did you receive a September token at launch? I didn't. I have 12 tokens. 1 for having an account at all. 8 for my previous 24month vet badges, 2 for the 2 year vet, and 1 for ever having bought a box. That's 12, therefore, no token for September. I also haven't yet gotten one in October. My bill date was the 4th, although I have no idea what my previous vet award date was. Either way, since we're back to the 14th (where feedeom started 14 Sept) I should have 1 by now, I would think. Interested to see where this is going.

Got my points as well yesterday, but nothing else yet. Billing date is the 4th.

Yeah, even if only to let us know they're looking into it. >_<

It was me
And while I'm admitting my guilt, I was also the second gunman on the grassy knoll...
In all seriousness though, I can see how annoying it could be. But somehow I doubt it's being intentionally done to grief the regular public Raid. -
Quote:Forbin, I hope you don't mind, but I just have to borrow this for my sig, hehe. Its just too funny, and sadly its probably so right.Top men in the field of science have discovered a direct correlation between people that don't like inherent Fitness and people that spend way too much time door sitting in AE missions.

Time to break out the Hamster's skiing build again, hehe. Now just have to hope that my internet connection can handle the slopes....
-
Radek, my SS/WP Brute and part-time badger, will get done, but any other toons won't get any Incarnate stuff anytime soon. I thought about doing the Hamster as well, but I'm hesitant to mess with perfection, hehe.

Only times I slide particles to minimum is during a Mothership or Hamidon Raid, along with dropping the overall graphics settings to their lowest. So I only use the particle count slider out of necessity. I love the effects the game uses for the most part so unless I have to turn something down, I prefer to run at full, heh.

Its limited to one per account. On the bright side, you could give the second copy to a friend and get him/her into the game too, hehe. I believe the "Refer a Friend" program allows a new player to activate a full account using a boxed edition of the game, so you could net yourself some more free time as well. You can access that program via your PlayNC Master Account.

Figured I'd let anyone around these parts that cares to know that I'll be leaving the game for a while thanks to my new place of residence not having internet and myself being broke. My SG's are being left in the hands of Saber Specter (aka Wraith), and I'll make every effort to get a new internet connection going when I've got the cash to spare. I'm hoping I'll have everything sorted out in time to make it back for the winter event, but I may not return until early 2011. Until then, take care folks. Its been a fun three years and I'll see you on the flip side.

Ditto. The last time I ever got any spam email on any of my toons was a little while after AE went live. I've never changed email settings on any toons or anything either. They simply stopped coming in. Not that I'm complaining or anything, lol.

Quote:Pretty much the same with mine. Heroside I've got them lined up alphabetically, while Villainside they're arranged by level, with RWZ sharing a unit with Grandville, but no Pocket D (everyone has the GvE teleport power).I've use different methods.
1. In the largest SG I maintain I have the beacons arranged alphabetically
2. While in my Villain SG the beacons are arranged by level.
3. In my solo SG I have the Pocket D beacon off by itself on one side of the base entrance with another set of porters set up for raid/trial access (Hami, RWZ, Terra Volta) with room to add Praetorian beacons if we ever are allowed to cross over freely. Then on the other side of the base entrance I have the beacons to my preferred zones arranged by level. -
Quote:Any Brute build that is fast and keeps its Fury bar up would be good, so long as you're not sacrificing too much in other important areas, like resistance, defense, regen or recovery.
My question is do you think if I build up fury then rush from mob to mob before it goes back down dramatically, would it be a good build.
And as a side note, that wasn't what you asked initially, heh. -
If I recall correctly, you have to phone him again to let him know that you're "on the trail" or something to that effect. Been a bit since I did that set of missions though so I could be mistaken.

Quote:Hey, that looks a lot like mine! Guessing its the "souped up" version of the MX-518, which I love by the way. Big enough for this giant claw I call a hand, sensitivity controls, an "alt-tab" button (which I actually rarely use, heh) and the two side buttons. If I can't cough up enough for an Imperator when the time comes (or the Lachesis when they start selling it), another MX-518 will the the order of the day.

Something worth mentioning about Sands of Mu as well is that it still does full damage during a Rage crash, making it a great filler to keep your Fury level up during the crash and still dealing a little damage. Its animation time is not quite long enough to fill the entire crash period (10 secs I believe), but its better than nothing, hehe.
So if you have a Super Strength toon, I'd highly recommend that you take Sands of Mu for just that reason, even if you don't ever use it aside from during a Rage crash. -
Gamestop
Amazon
Steam
There's more of course, so if you prefer another online retailer, just hit up Google.
EDIT: Sorry, just realized you were talking about a Booster, and not necessarily the Complete Collection game itself (maybe I should have my coffee before posting after I get up, lol). As far as I know, the perk pack with the costume pieces and such is only available directly from the NC Store. -
Once you've completed your five Tips for the day you can't find any more until the timer is up on at least one of your already completed ones. Wish we could finish five Tips and pick up five more for the next day, but sadly that's not how it works.

Well of all the times to run into trouble with the launcher it hits me today. If I can't get on in time to catch the Guardian party, good luck to everyone that does go and have fun for me!

One thing and one thing only. Base love!
Though I wouldn't mind the other ideas in the thread either, heh.
