Killed my mouse!!

Ok, my last mouse (Reaper Edge 3200 DPI gamer mouse) just up and died on me and this sad little Micrsoft came-with-the-computer mouse is driving me to drink!!!

So I was wondering what do you folks use/recomend? I really liked the extra buttons (HAVE to have them when I play my MM's) and it has to be optical. But I never got into cordless cuz of the battery issues.

Any suggestions?

Last mouse: Logitech G5
Current mouse: G500.

Not sure how many extra buttons you use - this has got sensitivity (as well as adjustable weight) and three on the side, programmable.

This silly person posting (me) has been using Logitech trackballs for over 17 years. Trackman wheel for all 4 of my home computers and I even brought one into work.

For most games it was more intuitive for me to use and for City it was perfect for me.

total kick to the gut

My original computer had a wireless mouse and as soon as I picked up CoX last Jan. 09' I ordered a new mouse with a USB cord through New Egg, which sometimes has some great deals.

I got a: Logitech G5 2-Tone 7 Buttons 1 X Wheel USB Laser 2000 pdi Mouse - $50 Bucks. When this thing came with little weights to put in your mouse for the best feel, I knew I had something special! . For those who don't like the rapid speed, you can slow down your mouse movement with the buttons on top. I have no complaints on this what-so-ever and they look ohhh sooo cool looking!

Hey, that looks a lot like mine! Guessing its the "souped up" version of the MX-518, which I love by the way. Big enough for this giant claw I call a hand, sensitivity controls, an "alt-tab" button (which I actually rarely use, heh) and the two side buttons. If I can't cough up enough for an Imperator when the time comes (or the Lachesis when they start selling it), another MX-518 will the the order of the day.

I've got the Microsoft Sidewinder X5, personally. The last mouse I had, an Intellimouse Explorer, bought way back when nobody was sure if this fancy new "universal serial bus" thing would stick or not, and only died about a year or so ago {alas, poor left mouse button}. Not sure how long the new mouse will last, but definitely good experiences with reliability.

I picked up a Logi MX510 the week it launched here, and rode it into the ground. It was replaced with a Logi MX518 last year. I can't say a bad thing about this line. Quality, precision, and epiclonglife.

I currently have this G5 as well, I love the functions of the extra buttons. What I liked about it the most was the texture, it's only the slightest bit rough so it gives your hand traction without being 'grippy'. The only issue I've had with it so far is that the casing on the cord is a little stiff and instead of flexing right where it comes out of the mouse, it's bending and seperating.

That G5 reminds me of the old MX700 (I think it was) Keyboard/Mouse combo (wireless receiver was recharger dock for the mouse) - love that mouse - had an extra button under the wheel, and none were for PSI adjustments.
