So, deciding I wanted to take a break for awhile from CoH, I canceled my billing and will drop down to "free" premium status the first week of Feb. this year. The majority of my toons are on the Freedom Server but I also have 6 toons on the VIP Exalted Server. One being my first and best toon. So, what happens to those who do drop down to "free" status premium account, do they automatically move your toons you have on the VIP server back to the first server they came from OR,..and this is the scary part, are they deleted or removed being that one would no longer have access to them? I cannot imagine they would be deleted but if so, then I will need to reactivate my billing and move them.

Does anyone have a link on what the procedures are for suspending your CoX account? I am thinking of taking a break from CoX for awhile and want to "shut off" the monthly payments from my account. From what I've been told in the past, you will not loose your current characters or their current statuses when and if one does come back. I was not sure if there was a certain time frame before they would delete your toons on a suspended account?

For some reason, this morning as I was zoning into Founders Falls from the Train Depot and as I exited I noticed that all three of my power trays where now empty with the exception of only having a grey x-mas gift icon in them. It seems that all my powers and temp powers moved back up into the Combat Attributes area. I am not sure if I accidentally clicked on something to cause this or if this is indeed a glitch or bug? Anyone else have this happen to them since the last patch?

I think I figured it out.

Went to Coh.com game client and downloaded this. Hope this works -
So, I kept getting this error code 36 message that kept popping up at the NC launcher and after having to "force launch" to get into the game and after getting no response to my issue via support, I took the liberty to uninstall CoX from my PC with the hopes a re-install might help. I still have the CD for CoH/CoV so this morning I put it in and re-installed CoX. It installed but had the old launcher. I down loaded the new launcher and right clicked to get updates. It was downloading and I had to leave to work. I came back and it didn't download correctly.
So, not to sound like a total dweeb but is there step-by-step instructions out there to re-install CoX to PC? I am sure this is buried somewhere in these posts. Thanks in advance to all who replied -
Quote:Thanks for thatThe vanity/temp pets can only be used one at a time.
Pets
The following list of pets have been turned into mutually exclusive toggles. This means that you may only have one of these pets out at any given time. Going forward, vanity pets will all fall into this category.
Rikti Pet
Demon Pet
Mekman Pet
Redcap Pet
Clockwork Pet
German Shepherd Pet
Light Fairy Pet
Dark Fairy Pet
Blue Wisp Pet
Red Wisp Pet
Shield Oscillator Pet
Power Oscillator Pet
Shield Drone Pet
Power Drone Pet
Cherub Pet
Mini SnowBeast Pet
Vanguard MVAS. Yeah, I just got an email from support advising me the same thing. I guess the thing I want to know is the reasoning behind this? Me thinks it was because more people had access to vanity pets or combat pets and having them all on at the same time can get cluttered especially in team missions. So, with that being said, I just picked-up my German Shepard dog. He's cute and lovable. Just wish I could name him.

Nope, PC. And note to Necrotech_Master, issue one has NOT been resolved since last update Nov. 15. I am still getting my Target Tray (which I never use) open on my toons when I sign in and I always have to turn it off in the options menu. On the issue with not being able to run my Shield Drone Combat pet with my German Shepard or other non-combat vanity pets, I cannot find an answer to why one will disable when the other is active. Or if I want to run two vanity pets at the same time such as my Vanguard Bot Pet and a Demon Pet for example, one will die leaving me with only one vanity pet left. It really does not make any sense for me to run a vanity pet and not to be able to run a combat pet such as a Fairy, Wisp or Shield Drone when a week ago I could? I am still waiting for an answer from support on why this is happening? If anyone out there can give me a more defined answer on this, please do so.

I been waiting for a fix on this bug since the last patch, being that all was normal prior to that patch. This issue at hand are as follows:
Issue 1:
When signing into a toon the display screen will always have a few more trays open than normal and they will be moved around on my screen. I would have to re-set them in their proper positions and delete the ones I don't need. All would be normal until would sign out and then sign back on again. Sometimes, things would be okay when I sign into a toon but when entering a mission my trays would be moved around again.
Issue 2:
Sometimes when signing in at the launch screen I will get an "Error Code 36" that mentions something about a patch. When I contacted support, they advised to right click at start-up to run a fix on one of the drop down options given. I did so but still having issues. Sometimes when signing in I will get the pop-up box that says cannot sign in and will give the options of "Force Start" , "Cancel" or Abort Sign On or something to that nature. If I force start I can still log on but still get the same errors as described in this post.
Issue 3:
When logged in with a toon and when I activate combat pets such as: Light Fairy, Dark Fairy, Blue Wisp, Red Wisp, Shield Oscillator, Power Oscillator, Shield Drone or Power Drone and then try to activate a non-combat pet or vanity pets as some call them such as the Demon Pet, Clockwork Pet, Red Cap Pet, Rikti Monkey Pet etc,...my combat pet will disappear. Now, if I try to activate my Vanguard Pet my Demon Pet or other in this category will die. Prior to this last patch, I would have all three running at the same time, Shield Drone Pet, Demon Pet and my Vanguard Pet. To be honest, I really don't care much to even run the vanity pets as long at I can have my combat pets active.
This weekend, I have been conversing with support and they said they had to escalate it to another group that might be able to assist. Has anyone else out there had similar issues on this since the last patch? -
For some reason, this one has been on my mind for awhile. I think in part with all the updates, upgrades, new zones, costumes, markets, etc, that the game has brought within the past six months. With that being said, every time I use my Gun Drone for my level 50 Rad/Devices Blaster, it looks dull, boxy looking and makes me wonder "what if"? In my battles with the Imperial Defense Force, they have these Orbs that I always thought looked cool and much more modern looking than the "Malta Type" gun drones. So, my suggestion is to call for an upgrade to our Gun Drones. Maybe these new Gun Drone Orbs will do more than just shoot bullets and perform more like the Imperial Defense Forces Orbs offering Stimulants, Plasma Blasts, Shield Generators, Sonic Augmentation and Resuscitators just to name a few. Or, maybe they'll just shoot bullets or laser beams? When these Gun Drone Orbs are just hoovering and not in attack mode, they will show a "Green" stripe. When in attack mode, that stripe will turn red.
This is just one representation for what the gun drone orbs would look like. I tried to find other images of Orbs and Drones within CoX but this is the best I could find so far. I am sure there might be more sleeker Orbs or Drones out there so feel free to share ideas if you like.
Gun Drone (Current Gun Drones, Dull and Boxy Looking)
New Gun Drone Orb Red Striped (Attack Mode)
New Gun Drone Orb Green Striped (Non-Attack Mode)

For some unknown reason, I cannot obtain this badge even though my bar shows it full and complete. I have a few other toons with this same issue with this badge. All of them are Blue/Hero side. Not sure if I need to go red side/villain to fully get this badge as I only went to PVP zone in Warburgh to stand next to the black helicopter and logged off there. The bar would fill but no badge ever awarded. Anyone out there know if this is a bug or is there something else I need to do to get this badge complete? Thanks.

I know, I know, there are a bunch of you vets out there saying, "Have you been living in a cave?" No, I just have not been following-up on all the changes since Freedoms Release. In reading the prompt while I was in Perez Park by the Security Guard standing in front of what was once an entrance to Galaxy City, she said that meteors have hit Galaxy City and pretty much wiped it out. She also said something about beings coming from these meteors and taking over the city. Does anyone have more info on this or a link that will tell more about this as I cannot find anything on it. Thanks.

So since the Freedom release, I am a bit confused on the contact we are given, Mistress Eva and getting missions within the First Ward. On my lower 30'ish level toon, I was able to get a mission prompt from her and was able to run a plethora of missions there. Now with my other "higher level" toons, High 30's on up, I will get this response by her:
"I was sent to recruit heroes from your world, not its champions. There are greater threats that you and only you can face. This is a fight that others must undertake."
In her message, it does not say what her cut-off is level wise to get missions in the First Ward. I have been perusing paragonwiki for quite some time and I cannot find an answer for this. -
I replied to this long ago about good sounds and sounds that either need to be changed, have the ability to "turned down" or done away with. We all remember back in the day the "Super Speed" Humming sound that would always be on when you had SS on. Now, it only comes on for a brief second when activated then goes quite. I was in Wentworths the other day just minding my own business when three, that's right 3 MM's with Demon Summoning where using the same vender next to me. And yes, they ALL had their demons spawned with them. You can imagine the howls and growls from their Demons. Don't get me wrong, I love MM's. I've got a Demon Summoning MM myself. With that being said, the overall theme when you peruse this post, is noticing all the complaints about this one big sound issue. I would think that the dev's would take notice on this one being that it seems it is one of the more annoying sound effects in the game. Not sure if this can be fixed in a patch or having to wait for a new issue for this to change. I am not sure of any good solution for this, turning it off, changing the volume of the sound or changing the sound effect altogether, who knows?

For some reason, I cannot update my Widows Clothing Type. I was under the impression that we can change Widows clothing. Is this not the case? Is their clothing set in stone and cannot be changed? Hmmmmm if that "is" that case then there should be more clothing options. If you can change a Widows costume then why am I getting this error message? Is it because that particular part is no longer available being that the error message is saying "could not find a match for parts"? If someone out there in CoH land can assist with answers on this it would be greatly appreciated as I would really like to update my Widow with some new costumes.

This one has me kinda stumped and a bit confused. Let me explain. I just rolled up another Stalker, a Ninja Blade/Ninjitsu, currently at level 22. My first Stalker was a Engry Melee/SR Stalker, now at level 50. The exact definition of Hide per paragonwiki states: "Hide makes you almost impossible to detect. When properly 'Hidden', a Stalker can pull off critical hits with his attacks, and even land a massive 'Assassins Strike' with an Assassins power. When you attack or are damaged while using this power, you will be discovered. Even if discovered, you are hard to see and retain some bonus to defense. Unlike most stealth powers, Hide can be used at the same time as other concealment powers, giving you even greater stealth capability. No Endurance cost."
Now if you read the last part of this, "Unlike most stealth powers, Hide can be used at the same time as other concealment powers, giving you even greater stealth capability" how is this so? I was under the impression that just with hide you cannot be seen by pretty much 99.9% of foes, not sure about Rikti Drones? Also, by combining your Hide with another concealment power that allows you to attack while being used, does this increase your critical hits on the damage end? By combining my Hide with another concealment power, does this allow my Stalker to be 100% non-detectable, which means not even Rikti Drones can see you or high EB's AV's or other NPC's that might have extra sense perception or is it clinically impossible to achieve the 100% Hidden status? -
It appears since the last patch that the zoom feature is not working for costumes. From what I read, it seems others are having this same issue. Has anyone seen any new future patch notes that will address this issue since I would consider it somewhat important to see what the heck we are adding to our toons "close-up"?

This one actually kind of scares me. Let me explain. For some reason, this game will let you "accidentally" drop another IO on top of an existing one in your tray without giving you a prompt saying something like "do you really want to delete the previous enhancement?" Last week, I was slotting one of my defensive powers with Luck of the Gambler and "accidentally" dropped one on top of another IO. Needless to say, I was not happy as I thinkI spent 75 million in influence on the one that I deleted. What would have happened if I did that to a IO set like Shield Wall or Gladiator's Armor with being priced in the billions. I don't know what I would do, maybe hit my monitor...heh...heh.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems on your basic "cheap" enhancements you "will" get some kind of prompt saying "do you really want to do that" when slotting. Why not for expensive IO's or any IO sets for that matter? I know there are those of you who might say how could I have accidentally dropped one on top of the other? Well, when you have your Logitech game mouse set for super fast lightning tracking speeds, then you might end up doing this being that you must have a steady hand of a brain surgeon when slotting these. And if your IO is in the billions, then you "really" need to have a steady hand. -
Rather than having to type all of them out, I just went to CIT and did a screen capture of them. All my toons are women. All my toons are of Italian Culture with story bios having them all related in some way. My first toon was Fusion 7 which I actually started up back in my college days on my roommates CoH account circa 2004-2005. Was lucky enough to still have that name available when I started back up again in Jan. 2009. Fusion 7 and Fission 8 are twin sisters. Fission 8 used to be red side but found it in her heart to go good and fight evil blue side.
Some names are pieces of Greek Goddesses or mythical names such as Brimoriota my Bots/Traps MM. "Brimo", defined as The Angry One, she was associated with the dark earthy life-and-death goddesses like Hecate, Persephone, Demeter and even Cybele. And by "associated" I mean that her name was sometimes used to modify the other goddesses' names, like "Persephone the Angry One." A goddess in her own right in a couple of places where other chthonic deities were worshiped, but more commonly known in conjunction with the big name ladies.
Or Chimera Mist my Warshade. "Chimera", defined as a monstrous creature with parts from multiple animals fits nicely with the shape shifting of the Warshade. Or Fhenix my Fire/Kin Controller. Wanted Phoenix, a mythical bird with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or purple, blue, and green according to some legends). It has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again. But, I settle with Fhenix as Phoenix as obviously not available. I think one of the better features of this game is naming your toons.

Quote:Count me in as one of the 90%+ who still hasn't reached the 1 or 2 billion influence mark. It's not that I haven't played enough, I just end up spending the influence when needed like a druken' sailor when upgrading my enhancements for my toons. I mean it probably would be nice to have the PvP enhancements that sell for big influence bucks 1 bill on up. But having those prices so high forces me to go for the lower end (but still pricey) enhancements. Why buy only one PvP enhancement and have to wait until I can get enough influence to buy the other 5 PvP enhancements when i can buy all 6 cheaper enhancements at one time? I do know that the PvP enhancements might be a game changer for some toons based on all the benefits they offer. I play the market religiously and the other day just got a respec that I sold for a cool $300 mill in influence. I will have to agree that only about 10% really obtain this 2 billion threshold on a regular basis. My goal is not to reach that mark but for giggles, I may try it and see what all the fuss is about when you reach the big 2 billion mark. I may just have to crack open a beer and celebrate!Well you just have to remember that a lot has changed in this game over the last 7 years.
Before the market existed the 2 billion INF cap was probably more than adequate for like 99.9% of the player base. Even today I would guestimate that maybe 90+% of players will never get close to pushing that limit.
Maybe at some point the Devs will raise the limit, but I honestly wouldn't assume that's going to happen. Until then there's plenty of ways to work around it. -
I was trying to log into Freedom this morning before work and got this maintenance prompt message. This is the first time I've ever seen it target a specific server. I didn't see that any of the servers were even down this morning. Is this something new?

Pretend you are speaking to a 5 year old on this. I recently picked-up a new keyboard. The Razer BlackWidow. Not the Ultimate but the $80 BlackWidow. Since I've been playing this game, I have yet ventured into the Macro area with keybinding and such. I'm running with 15 toons now, two of them MM's and I always get a little intimidated when it comes to trying to set-up macros for my keys. I say intimidated because every time I read some of the threads in these forums that tell you about macros, I get lost. Now, it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. Heck, I built my own web site in flash and in Dreamweaver so this can't be that hard right?
What I am looking for is something like "Macro for Dummy's" even though I really don't care for the derogatory tone that those books imply. With my BlackWidow, I'm running with a "Corvette" keyboard and I can't get her over 35mph...heh. I need to open her up and find out what this keyboard can do. I've gone through the tutorials on Razors site but I am still having a hard time trying to grasp this. I guess what I am looking for is more of a "step by step" process. For anyone out there in CoH land that owns a BlackWidow, please direct me to the best area to go on setting this up. Even on YouTube I couldn't find too much on the "how to set-up macros". On the ones that I did find, the instructor shot through it so fast (as if they already assumed I knew the basic steps) that I got lost. So any help or direction (links) would be very helpful. Thanks guys. -
So I reluctantly did the MA tour just to get the Architect Manager out of my active contacts list. After I clicked on him to begin the tour, I clicked on him again only to get the "Complete this mission" we normally get on missions we want to complete without running the mission. Heh,....I never really thought that taking a tour of the MA would really constitute as a "mission" per se. I'm not knocking someone's head against a wall or smashing some villainous foes into the ground. If I did click the "Complete the mission" then I'd have to wait what another 48hrs. to use it again for that toon? Using something like that on the MA tour would just be silly. I think by just adding some kind of pop-up prompt when you roll a new toon and reach that MA level, I think level 10, and have it say something like: "Congratulations on reaching level 10. You now have the option to take the Mission Architect tour. Should you decline meeting the Mission Architect Manager on taking this tour, press the decline button and he will be removed from your active contact list. You will always have the option to take the tour later on by visiting the Mission Architect Manger in (such and such zone)." See, now wasn't that easy?
-
This is one thing in the game that has always kinda been getting under my skin. Every time we start up a new toon, we are forced to view the Architect Studio Manager in our contact list "until" we take that MA tour. For players who have rolled many toons and been gaming for awhile, it would seem that we already know the "ins and outs" of MA. In taking this tour, there is no badge or accolades awarded for taking this tour. I know there are those who will say that you are not obligated or forced to take this tour. I know that but the issue at hand here is the Architect Studio Manager will always be in your active contact list until you take the tour.
Like some things in this game, we have the option to "opt out" of something if we've done it before. Case-in-point when you sometimes run a mission on a team that is identical to one you have and have not run yet. We will get that message saying if we want to repeat this mission or count it as complete. So, with that being said, I would say option 1 would be to give a badge or accolade for taking the MA tour sort of like the University Tour to get the Inventors badge. Or option 2, give us a "opt out" prompt so we don't have to look at the Architect Studio Managers face every time we go into our active contacts list. What do you guys think?
