Great, the incarnate system requires completing a mission arc
You cant make everyone happy... so dont even try...
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

don'T attempt to read tHis mEssaGe, And believe Me, it is not a codE.
However, I would only be doing it to unlock its reward, which makes it uninteresting.
No, actually, I do each mission because I enjoy them. They just happen to lead to other missions. If the first mission of the ITF didn't lead to any thing, I would still enjoy it. |
You sir, with all due respect are insane.
Um. Have you done the Incarnate arc? If not, how do you know you wont enjoy it? Simply because there's more than one mission involved?

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
Cleb, I think I have some GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD advice for you.
It's a bit tricky, but I think you'll follow...
Since you won't do this arc to get incarnate content (I understand), there is no incarnate content for you.
If you'd like to try some new content that you can do straight out of the box...
Speak with Ramiel in Ouroboros. He has some new content that might be fun!!

MArcs:
The Echo, Arc ID 1688 (5mish, easy, drama)
The Audition, Arc ID 221240 (6 mish, complex mech, comedy)
Storming Citadel, Arc ID 379488 (lowbie, 1mish, 10-min timed)
Pac-Man could have been such a fun game, if it wasn't for all that bothersome dot-eating.
I'm sure this is old news to a lot of people, but some people don't read up on the details of issues before they're released.
Maybe I'm alone here, but I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE having to do missions to unlock content. It's probably the biggest complaint I have with the game. Capes, Auras, ITF, even Patron powers. It is so irritating to have to do a certain arc just to be able to go do some thing fun/interesting. I have like four level 50s who can't access capes just it's such a pain to unlock them. I've been told it's a short arc, but I really don't care...Having to do it on every toon I want Incarnate access on would be so tedious. I didn't think it would be easy or quick to be able to become Incarnate, but having to do a story arc is just annoying. I don't expect to use the Incarnate system at all. |
this what happened in the last game i played hackers ruined it for everyone dupin rares and gold and just anything to cheat there no extened maintenance there trying to catch the hacker and we pay for it so unless people don't let GM'S know of wrong doing's in the game it we ruin it and there we not be a COH IT WELL BE GONE TO THE AMERICANS!!!!!!!

While I can see that the amount of snark is reaching critical mass, and will soon explode in some sort of Sarcasmagasm, I must agree that Cleb, you are just wanting to hate for the sake of hate. Whatever.
If you plan on going thru life being morally opposed to doing things you have to do to get things you want to get, GLHF. (The term, nearly always applied in cases MUCH more extreme than this, is "Paying your Dues." You may or may not be familiar.)
Let's analyze a few basic games we all might be familiar with, which would fail under your rubric of not having to do stuff less than directly related to the thing you are trying to actually get:
Football. You have to advance the ball 10 yards to get within 4 tries, which then allows you to repeat the same process, in order to eventually score a touchdown. FAIL.
Baseball. You are required <GASP!> to go to first base BEFORE <REGASP!> going to 2nd base, then third, then home to score a run. FAIL.
Hopscotch**: You must step on the first square (eek!) then the second, each with the same foot, then simultaneously (OMG!) with both feet on the 3rd and 4th squares, continuing in a likewise manner until reaching the final square...<snip> FAIL.
Running. You must place your left foot on the ground, then the right foot in front,
(these may be interchanged at will), increasing the speed therewith, advancing forward. (apologies to any disabled people who may have those cool tech devices that let you run without one or both said feet.) FAIL.
Which of these games, if any, do you have a problem with?
Does this argument make any sense, that paying a small price for a big benefit is relatively harmless and a reasonable request to make of a player? Can you think of any other video games that require similar things? Pong, for instance? How about every adventure game ever written? Am I taking Crazy Pills???
** - please note, I am very unskilled at this particular game, and apologize to any professional Hopscotchers/Hopsceetch/Hopscootcherie for any errors in expressing its basic strategy and tactics.

You can do content unlocking the Incarnate Arc.
You can then do content IN the Incarnate Arc.
Both are content.
