  1. The Scrapper boards changed the way I saw this game. I mean, I always liked scrappers. My first alt to 50 was a dark/regen scrapper that did a respec for every new issue trying out different powers. It wasnt until I started checking out the scrapper boards that I learnedd the true goodness of IOing. Stuff like soft cap def and the regen rule of recharge, recharge, recharge, def, and more recharge became common place in my build midset.

The stories of AV hunts, pylon times, RWZ challenge, soloing ITFs entertained me douring long hours at work and made me get the idea of building and trying that stuff too. This midset even carried over to other ATs I played.

The videos ive seen on youtube are legedary and I hope none you that posted them ever take them down. Im sure I will need a COH fix one day and the only thing ill be able to do is look at personal screen shots and You tube vids.

Ill never forget the all scrapper ITF, STF, and 8 man scrapper mothership raid that I was a part of a few years back. I regreat that I was able to do any of the incarnate trials and missed out on the apex and tin mage run.

I will miss all of this. I will miss the number debates, the build advice, the different build styles. I will even miss the regen haters and the nay sayers that said regen didnt need fixing even though some of the issues were fixed when it was ported to brutes. And they said stuff only got fixed when ported to scrappers. Ill miss all of the dead horse threads about giving scrappers SS and Nin. Now we will never get them. Or Em *sobs*

I hate that i24 will not go live. I24 was going to be IO greatness. I was looking forward to seeing how people were going to alter their builds in order to get the good stuff.

The thing im going to miss the most are my scrappers. The hours of work leveling and hours offline in Mids putting together builds. Im going to miss doing all of that. I dont think ill ever remove Mids. Ill talk about this game to somebody one day and ill need some sort of visual to help explain. I'll also tell them of great things that scrappers have done. Then ill pull up youtube to show vids.

Its time I say goodbye to all my scrapper friends. Ive had the honor of actually scrapping side by side with some of you. Those were good times I wont soon forget. What ever game you play next, make at one character that just flip out and kills and has the "You are not obligated to save me" attitude. When people ask what the hell you are doing? Just say "Scrapperlock".

Its a shame that the game shutting down is the one problem that cant be solved by throwing scrappers at. Or can it? Hmm...
  2. Wow. i really was doing it wrong. This will save me some time, im sure. Thanks.
  3. It's been a while since ive been on the threads so I missed this info when it was hot. Now its all TW this and TW that. Anyway, what the best StJ DPS chain? Ive been doing Rib cracker, shin breaker, heavy blow, and rotationg smashing upper cut and sweeping cross.

I'm sure there is a better one. i just cant figure it out. What is it? What's the recharge needed? I have a data chunk of the build I use. I may or may not need more recharge. The point is, i just dont know. If i do need more recharge, what do i need to change?

Actually, she did. Unless they changed it in this past patch.
  6. Im not sure why them revealing who will die is such a shock. How long did we know Superman was going to die before that issue came out? I just hope they dont come out with 5 Statesman clones.

Im not that interested in who will die. Im more interested in:
    1. How a chump like Wade is able to pull off all of this.
    2. Is he really the true mastermind?
    3. How is that vile of blood he took from Alexis going to play part in his plan? (Red side SSA 3)
    4. Is this plan part of his goal to bring Raulauu out of the Shadow Shard? (do his arc for details)
    5. Why is Infernia the contact for part 7? (In RWZ at the top to steps leading to Dark Watcher)

Overall, I like how the story is playing out. Im also interesed in how things will be after the arc is finished. Everyone is thinking about the impact of one of the PF getting killed and how other arcs and TFs that had them in will change. Seems that everyone forgot that Malaise's brain exploded in SSA 4.
  7. Ive made a few StJ alts since the set came out and ive gotten one to 50. My first Exalted born 50, actually. StJ/Regen. The leveling was easy. The IO goal of my build was mostly geared for recharge and hit points. Recharge because that a regen's friend and Hitpoints bcause unlike scrappers, Dull Pain wont cap a brute's hit points leaveing a lot of room for improvement.

Anyway, I was bored the other day and decided i would solo a pylon without incarnate powers. It took me 10 to 15 mins. I was a little upset. Then it hit me that i never looked into the best DPS chain for StJ. So, after all this time leveling up, IOing, and getting teir 4 incarnate powers, I want to know what is the best DPS chain for StJ? Can I use it with my current build? What do I need to get if I cant?

This is not including Incarnate powers. I did it again with incarnate powers and lore pets and it took under 3 mins. Still had time to take out a lvl 54 mob too before the pets expired. I hardly consider that a challenge.

Or...so I heard when I read a summary of what's been happening since I stopped reading comics. I also stopped somewhere around Civil War....or was it the Twelve? X-men in general has been horrible since around Emma Frost joining.

....then again, I also kept in mind he was the guy that cloned everyone....so, how easy would it be to say: Oh, you killed a clone.

    *shrugs*

    Mr. True Shot.
What happen was he had a machine set up that will take posession of a chosen host that will become the new sinister. shaw and gambit destroyed the machine and somehow, a woman got the powers of sinister. Becomming Ms sinister. this happen in x-men legacy after the messiah complex.

She then tried to take X-23s body because hers was dieing or something. Douring that time sinister ended up comming back. I forgot the exact details. This happen in x-23 after she leaves utopia.

This actually makes me wonder how will the Avengers: Childrens Crussade end. She alreadt gave Rictor back his powers and brought Ant Man back to life. I'm almost sure nothing that happens in a book that comes out every other month will stick, though.
  11. Daken is geting dropped too. Its like they just fired her (the writer for both books. I forgot her name. Marjorie liu or something close). Laura going to avengers acadamy instead of being with X-Men Wolverine's Faction is an interesting move. But nothing will ever beat her run with New X-Men and X Force.

    1. I do have 3 level 30 Defense IOs in both Deflection and Battle Agility.
    2. I do not have Weave. I play melee characters exclusively and I've always managed to get by without *ever* dipping into the Fighting Pool. I'm hesitant to take yet MORE toggles to eat up my End bar. My playstyle is very much the neverending attack rush. I don't like downtime.
    3. I don't have Combat Jumping. 2.12% Defense doesn't seem worth a power pick, now that I can skip it. Also, see above about MORE End toggles.
    4. Don't have it yet. True Grit is slotted with 3 level 3 Heal IOs for the MaxHP.
    5. I do.

As for my slotting, here's my setup, all with level 30 generic IOs unless stated otherwise.

    Initial Strike: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx/1 Dmg
    Sweeping Cross: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx
    Rib Cracker: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx/1 Dmg
    Combat Readiness: 1 RchRdx
    Spinning Strike: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx/1 Dmg
    Shin Breaker: 2 Acc/2 EndRdx/1 Dmg

    Deflection: 3 Def
    True Grit: 3 Heal
    Battle Agility: 3 Def
    Active Defense: 1 RchRdx
    Against All Odds: 1 EndRdx
Phalanx Fighting: Karma: Knockback Protection/Luck of the Gambler: Defense/Global Recharge
    Grant Cover: 1 Def

    Health: Miracle: +Recovery
    Stamina: 3 EndMod

Aid Self: 2 Heal/2 Interrupt Duration
Switch your dmg IOs out with recharge. Fury will take care of damage. Remove the karma knockback and put that slot in active defense with another recharge. That will be enough knockback protection. Look into getting a performance shifter +end IO, the stadfast res/def IO, the regen tissue +regen IO, and a numina regen/recovery IO. Those things don't need to be changed later and are easy to get these days thanks to tips and ssa. Especialy for those with multiple alts. With those changes, you will notice a performance change.
  13. I say fort. Not only do you have stealth, you get high def to all positions (mine is in the 50s with mind link on), mez and kb protection, a crashless nuke, and a confuse power that give total confusion a run for its money. Not to mention scaling res like sr, and leadership. I just wish forts got mental training.

And the will power vs regen debate moves from the scrapper boards to brute boards. I hope yall enjoy. lol

I like my regen scrappers but i will reserve my judgement for it on brutes. They didnt mention any changes or anything so we'll see.

i dont think anything can be considered villian or hero ATs anymore.

On another note. Strong and pretty gets "critical"!!
  16. I ran into this same problem. So many alts. Who to make an incarnate? The answer was all of them. Just pull a name out of a hat to see who is first.
  17. How about forcing yourself to think outside the box? Who said that your name had to represent your powers, fighting style, personality, or visual characteristics? This is comming from a tactical point of view so your enemies would have a hard time figuring you out.
  18. First off, get rid of those heal procs. They will never fire off enough to make a better difference then using that slot to six slot a set that gives you more def.

Gloom is great. Not because it is range but because of its high dmg.
That power will help improve your ST chain, greatly.

Chain induction should be in your attack chain over havoc punch. Charged brawl has the better DPS over havoc punch.

Jacobs ladder is like shadow maul/sands of mu. If you know how to get the most out of those powers, JL will be a good pick up. Its not so bad used as a ST attack neither.

On my ela/sr scrapper, the best dps chain CB, CI, CB, JL, CB. I'm not sure what it is on a brute when you add Gloom. I'm sure someone will be kind enough to post it.
  19. I have to agree with /SR and most stalker builds were once tight.

Last night, I did about 10 respecs. Some were 50s and some where leveling that I didn't have mid builds for. On many of those builds, I found myself at a power pick in the 20s thinking, "Nothing else I want is open up yet. What do I pick?" I've only had that happen to me once or twice before i19. That is a huge change from "Dang, I want this but I need this. Sigh... This will have to wait lvl ___ because ______ opens next and I can't skip that neither."

Check the scrapper boards. One was ran yesterday. Too bad I missed it.
  21. You could move some slots from air sup to tough and slot it just like mind over body.

Weave uses more end then heighten senses. Move one of those end reds from HS and put it in weave.

Health is stronger then PP. Move the two heals from PP to health.

An SS brute has furry and rage to increase DMG. 3 slotting dmg is kinda wasted. I'd switch one DMG in all attacks to a recharge. Doing that will not only allow to attack more but, thanks to the KB effect in the powers, will stop incoming DMG more often giving you time to regen with RTTC.

On my SS/WP, before IO sets, I had acc, end, end, rech, rech, dmg on all primary attacks and acc, dmg, rech, in air sup.

I know you may be saying you have WP you don't need that much end reduction. I said the same thing till that first time I had hasten, SOW, and rage crash at the same time. The recovery maybe high but when you have a big dive in end while you have multiple toggles running and using attacks, you will find your toggles dropping at the wrong times.

Another thing is how is your judgment on when to use SOW? Is it for preparation or is it "oh crap"? SOW isn't that good in most "Oh Crap" situations. You tend to end up hitting it then dropping soon after. Much like /regen's Instant healing in that regard.

I am Riez. And I approve this tactic.

Oh no! Don't let that happen. You get a rage blast and an AoE attack at 41 and 44. Don't let something that's skippable take away the good stuff.
