Going Rogue - must have list
End game content.
Rework of all low level content. Yes I realize there will be low level content in GR, but I'm specifically indicating that they need to revamp all the existing low level stuff too.
More than 2 new powersets - think more like 6-8 new powersets
Finish color customization
Remove upwards of 10 hero zones. Anything with less than 5 visitors per day should be axed.
Finally, nuke the AE and get in your time machine to regain the millions of manhours and heaps of cash wasted on it. IMO of course

Did I miss a Steelclaw list? I was certain that he'd post in this thread. It seemed tailor made for him.
There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"
Branching Missions/story arcs
Further use of context senstive dialogue, so that characters in the gameworld react to what you do.
Lots of well written new content, characters, storys and challenges.
Lots of cool stuff
Always remember, we were Heroes.
I'm looking for jetpacks/sheaths/back options. I'd also take that as part of the natural pack if that is soonish. They recently fixed an issue with power jetpacks on models which previously seemed like an issue for getting costume back options. I'm hoping that's an indication. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

YUMMY Low-Hanging Fruit for BASE LUV
Must have:
1. Side-switching. (A Given)
2. Content: enough to be comparable at least to CoV's offering.
3. Content for level 50 characters.
4. New enemy groups (hopefully as common groups not just limited to designated arcs.)
5. New costume shtuff.
What I would hope for:
1. New maps types, and not just for new arcs. New maps that are used for newspaper/radio missions, hopefully enough to be put into old arcs. I'm talking fancy museums/mansions/military complexes, so on. So that not everything must be shoehorned into offices, warehouses, sewers, and caves.
2. Speaking of above, the polishing of old content
3. A more dynamic interaction for all factions. Villains are able to start/plan crimes, heroes react to said crimes. (Basically, reason for villain/hero alignment besides zones/contacts.)
4. Post 50 progression. Perhaps custom signature power creation, of power effect customization, or at least some sort of extra enhancement possibilities
5. Many more explicitly 'villainous' arcs, and heroic content options. Villainous in that it it is less about doing someone's marching orders, and heroic in that it would involve more than 'kill more dudez.' I'm talking rescue, sacrifice, stuff like that. And no, I'm not talking run to point X, click bomb, watch progress bar, you saved the world. Something where the end is not to punch a tough guy, but manually avert a disaster in progress.
6. More invention sets
7. Refined mission architect functionality
8. Real uses for SG/VG bases beyond transport/warehousing-and beyond breaking into each other's places to destroy/steal stuff.
9. 8+ or multi-team strike/task forces
*edit* 10. Yeah...one more. more hero NPC groups for the wicked to fight. Arcs and arcs of only longbow does not a villain make. And more 'villainous' villains for heroes, along comic book genre lines. Stuff in spandex with superpowers, not more para-militaryish jokers.
They supposedly introduced the tech into the game, what, three issues ago? And all they've used it for is two instances of giving a password to get in (both But Thou Must unfailable) and a few "that's interesting, tell me more" to break up tl;dr text blocks into smaller chunks.
Save Ms. Liberty (#5349) Augmenting Peacebringers The Umbra Illuminati
All of that, including raising the level cap and adding new top-tier powers to the primary and secondary powersets. I'm not expecting it, and it's not a make-or-break deal, but after years of rolling and leveling characters to 50 within the same old framework, the whole thing's getting a little old.

I love these suggestion!
If I had to add one, mine would be a revamp of all the Freedom Phalanx characters! They've become stale! I'm tired of looking at them as they are. I know this is an odd request for GR, but you all have already picked most of the stuff I would've suggested.
I know one thing it =will= have: lots of DOOOM!

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Also, how do you propose we change the gameplay in CoH? You can't really change the core gameplay without alienating at least some portion of your established player base. So anything done would have to somehow tack itself on to existing gameplay which more than likely wouldn't be nearly enough for the folks who want new gameplay mechanics from CoH. In all likelihood the folks who want different game mechanics would probably be better served looking for them elsewhere. That's not me telling you to leave, just saying, if we tack on a different play-style this late in the game in all likelihood bad things will end up happening.

Our basic combat mechanics are pretty decent as is...actually more than decent compared to other MMOs. What's missing is more expansive mission objectives, environmental interactivity, interesting mini-games to break up mission monotony.
There are a ton of small changes that could be made, and things added that would make missions feel more superheroic in terms of execution.
We've always been missing the detective side of superhero work. The clue hunting, or breaking security systems and generally the choices that heroes and villains make in terms of how they do things.
The fact that our powers affect so little beyond NPC enemies and the occasional breakable object is unfortunate. Superheroes are always using their abilities in new and interesting ways.
Heck, I'd even welcome some new form of the Super Secret out of Combat Skill System that got canned by Jack.
Basically anything that livens up gameplay past the scope of what we have now would be welcome. It's not a matter of changing the core mechanics or alienating people...its adding new options and ways to approach situations. Freedom Force is a great game to look at in terms of superhero feel. It really allowed you to use the heroes' powers to defeat enemies in different ways. Fun stuff.
Oooo, if someone hasn't suggested already, GR should have some more female mobs in it!
Well, we're going to get number four by all accounts so far, but your suggestions two and five have me curious as to what you'd suggest. I mean, I can't think of any roles our game is missing, so any new AT would kind of have to borrow slightly from anything we already have. If you can think of something else I'd love to hear it. I can think of new gameplay styles they could build towards, but it's just be revising another AT's roll to some extent (which isn't a reason not to do it I don't think, but that's just me).

- Shrinking
- Power stealing / mimicry
Sadly, both of them are very hard to implement with the current game engine, I think.
1. A wider variety of maps (even if it's just a lot of NEW office/warehouse/cave settings)
2. A Faultline-style revamp of DA, Boomtown, and Eden
3. A better engine that's kinder to our computers. Tabula Rasa, for all it's problems, had beautiful graphics with few if any graphical problems for my older computer.
4. More advertising, so we can keep the servers full daily. This is a great game already; let's let people know about that!
Please try my arcs:
Arc# 63910 "Why Do Bad Girls Like Bad Boys?" (length=Long, levels 40+)
Arc# 401500 "How to Be a Successful Professional Criminal" (length=Very Long, levels 1-10)
Isn't that a confirmed bit of GR? Silly thing to put on a wish list of features if you know it's coming

You can pry the Shadow Shard and Dark Astoria from my cold, dead, decaying fingers Incidentally WBT DA and Shard revamp! |
Look at it another way, the time spent on a zone revamp can do one of several things.
1. be wasted
2. be better spent doing something else
3. further dilute the small player base
4. be so good they create a new hub effectively killing an existing one
Think of it as trimming the fat so that CoX can emerge as a faster, more efficient game.
Finally, I'm pretty sure GR will drop the same time as a new issue, whether it is technically that issue or not is pretty irrelevant from a consumer standpoint, so one or more of the things I listed should be "free", but better dam well be done by the time GR hits heh.
This is weird to hear this, I play my 50's WAY more than my lower toons. I feel this MMO has more end game content than any in existence. And with the abundance of TF/SF it's really amazing.

Ya lots do do lots /e sarcasm
I've never played any other MMO and only play this one cause i love super heroes and the gameplay here is everything I think it should be. This game needs not only more level 50 stuff to do but it also needs to get a significently harder at high level.
Enough of this nonsense *this game isn't balanced around IOs*. Alot of the players I run into have set bonuses and lots of them lets start making the game harder because of it.
All of that, including raising the level cap and adding new top-tier powers to the primary and secondary powersets. I'm not expecting it, and it's not a make-or-break deal, but after years of rolling and leveling characters to 50 within the same old framework, the whole thing's getting a little old.

Edit: After all these years, I still rarely have any idea what people mean when they say "end game content".
- It must come in a box.
- Said box must be square and have at least 3 dimentions.
- Box must contain game cd inside.
- Cd must be shinney. (I like shinney.)
One idea that's been tossed around: Customizable chat bubble borders - not just the color, but the type also.
