Really? I actually like the new MA attacks and plan to make a new scrapper specifically to use them!

...

Plus a new brute for the claws

Altitis? Ai gotz it

[/ QUOTE ]

Same here. I like the MA animations. I can now make a super strong Invulnerability Scrapper complete with punches rather than kicks. I've got a really great concept for it. The punching MA makes a great alternative for characters that are more of a low-order super strength than standard Super Strength. Way stronger than a normal person, but not so strong that you can rip up concrete and throw it or create a shock-wave by clapping your hands together.

And Claws on Brutes is win. Claws will build Fury so fast, it'll be amazing. I'll just make sure to take Focused Accuracy due to the weaksauce that is Followup. It might be the first character I actually carry a column of Yellows on lol. I'm torn between a wolfman (not werewolf, wolfman) and catgirl for the concept. I have plenty of time to decide (and might go with both lol; ALTITUS!)

Try it some day. Guaranteed that if you spend most of your time behind a computer desk typing? You're not gonna want to stand more than an hour before you get a huge back and foot ache.

[/ QUOTE ]

I do it twice a year. That's about all I can stand (no pun intended). By the end of a 4-5 day con, everything below your navel hurts, your feet and legs have been pounded into something roughly the consistency of warm jello and you wonder how people who work retail for a living do it (aside from a masochism so profound that you shudder to think of it).

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not just a lack of walking that does this - I live in NYC where you have to walk a LOT. I'm fine with walking. The cons drain me nonetheless. It's like going to a museum or a mall cranked up to 11. The pace of walking is slow and awkward, you're looking at all sorts of interesting things all around you all the time, and you're bombarded with constant social interaction. Just draining.

We want ice to look like 'ice' and because of how the FX were created when you apply a very saturated, non-cool hue to them they no longer look like ice and instead look like a cartoonish jewel.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's precisely what I was wanting to be honest, and probably the only way I could really bring myself to play an Ice/blaster. I'd love to have a character who has power over minerals like an earth tanker but rather lets it take the form of crystal. Ruby gem shield + Ruby encrusted fists = Good theme. As is... the gem shield is pretty poorly mis-matched with whatever you pair it with. It just doesn't have a good thematic pair.

[/ QUOTE ]
I also want something like that and was looking forward to it. If the problem is that by "cartoonish gemstones" BaB means that they look ugly, as opposed to just looking like gemstones that's another thing. In that case - if the animations are the problem, perhaps that would be a good candidate for future alternate animations for Ice ? Jewel style animations that look like the Gem Shield ?

I was talking mainly about the fatigue of simply standing around. Even with a padded floor, it's still brutal.

But yeah. Being "sociable" at a con for 8-10 hour a day can be...draining. To understate it dramatically.

This is why I don't bail from cons the night they close anymore. About an hour or two after everything's packed and ready to go, I come down off the caffeine+sugar high, the sphincters all loosen up and I turn to jelly for a good 8-10 hours.

Doing that behind the wheel of a car is just crazy (see "cordless bungee jumping") and slurping down additional caffeine doesn't help.

I don't go to Cons because I am forced to interact with strangers... and then they say things like, "wow your very personable" and then I am forced to be even nicer, because that is how I am... and then... I eventually go home with new friends...

AND I HATE THAT.

The last time I went to a con I was at GenCon and demoing a game for my husband's friend, and it was not only physically wearying, it was also mentally draining as well.

BUT, I did get my Top Cow #1 CoH comic signed by the devs, so it's all worth it.

Even saturated greens turn ice FX into emeralds, so we've had to desaturate the hues as they move away from the cool cyans/blues.

There's still reds, oranges, yellows, etc...but they're desaturated tints.

I've had this happen in a single day as an exhibitor at a small business expo.

Arrive at 7:15 to setup. Doors open for attendees at 8:15 and runs until 4:30. Even with an hour and a half sitting for lunch and the keynote presentation, I was WIPED OUT when I got home about 6:00.

I can't imagine doing it for a whole weekend+.

...I forgot what experience means.

Dude, you're not kidding. The problem with MY camera is when I do a lot of filming I tilt the camera sideways. When I have to use the program to turn it 90degrees to the side, omg...

I'll probably post it when it's fixed up but there was a skinny, pale young lady outside the con near the one crosswalk, with an electric violin, playing for gas money.

The film of her makes her look like she's MY weight and pregnant to boot. Seriously this girl was like a twig and I watch the video thinking "compress, compress properly... she was not like that!!"

You guys want Ice to look like Ice, yes, but that shouldn't trump everyone's potential concepts.
So a couple people will abuse it. They're a minority. Not every person wants to be flinging ice--some people, yes, want to fling emeralds or rubies.

Funny you should say that, because there is a well-known comic book character that can be described as fighting with what often looks like cartoonish jewels.

After about 6 days of looking, and then finally getting the address right... I decided to donate money to the ASPCA in the name of Castle, Positron, Babs, and the rest of the CoX team...

They should get their piece of paper/picture of the animal they helped in about 4 weeks >.>

I hope they add that message thing I tacked on to the bottom that says something like "Hey thanks for being awesome devs and bring us all Issue 16"

Or they might look at it and think its spam or something.

Manticore and Ghost Widow are switching sides in issue 17? Is that even possible?

[/ QUOTE ]

It might be possible, but I think it's more likely that the Praetorian version of Manticore is a villain and the Praetorian version of Ghost Widow is a hero.

[/ QUOTE ]

listen to what they said about the characters. To paraphrase "Not all good character are completely good, and not all bad character are completely bad."

We know that Manticore push the things to the edge in order to get things done. WE also know that he's created Wyvern. An organization that's know to run in the legal grey areas as well.

Lord Recluse may be leading Arachnos, but Ghost Widow's loyalties aren't necessarily to Recluse himself. Ghost Widow's anchor is Arachnos itself. When Recluse get's to be too reckless and starts to engander Arachnos, Ghost Widow may act to preserve Arachnos. GW may even ally with Paragon City heroes.
