Thanks.
1. I'm guessing so as Paragon Wiki states:

Quote:
Dominatrix is a Praetorian Earth archvillain, the Praetorian counterpart to Primal Earth's Ms. Liberty.
However, the rest of her discription does NOT state that she is related to Marcus Cole:

Quote:
Being the daughter of a famous and universally loved super heroine never sat well with Dominatrix. She rebelled from a very early age and when she hit puberty and her powers kicked in she decided enough was enough. After killing her mother, the infamous Miss Liberty, she started making a name for herself. She caught Tyrants attention and has been serving him loyally, in all capacities, ever since.
Considering Miss Liberty got the Liberty belt from HER mother, Monica Richter (Maiden Justice) and Monica got it from The Sisters (I think it was) as a wedding gift, it would be a little daft if she WASN'T related to Marcus as that would mean a complete Praetorian re-write of the liberty belt history.

Rikti Question for you, Manticore and Friends:

In the mission clue from Serpent Drummer's fourth mission, it is mentioned that the last big war the Rikti had was against an alien invasion by a group called the Battalion about a century ago (so late 19th, early 20th centuries). When you speak to Dark Watcher in Levantera's second arc, the classified briefing he gives you states that the Rikti are heavily modified humans and speculates that this artificial augmentation may have been in response to contact with an advanced alien species.

So my questions are thus:
1) who are the Battalion and will we ever learn more about them or see them in game?
2) are the Battalion responsible for the Rikti being, well, Rikti and their highly advanced technology?

Also, on a purely speculative (and most likely wrong) note, does anyone else find the timing of the Battalion invasion interesting in terms of science fiction stuff? Around 1900 would've been about the time of H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds and the Martian invasion in that book. Because fighting giant tripods would be awesome.

If Infernal is from another earth did the thorns summon Lilitu from there? Her description makes it sound she was summoned from on of "our" hells.

What happened to T'Keron and Valmaz? What did they fuse into? Did they find burger king?

If Emperor Romulus Augustus was the last Emperor of the Western Roman Empire, who is Imperius? Is Imperious the Emperor of Rome, or only the the Emperor of Cimerora?

I'm curious about the Battalion myself. I also have a sneaking suspicion they may be the "Coming Storm" that's mentioned throughout Ouroboros. I mean, are there any current villain groups in the game that are known to use Kheldians for starship fuel?

As for the Rikti being the creations of the Battalion, I highly doubt it. It doesn't seem right that an advanced alien culture would take the time to raise a lesser species to an equally advanced state just to try and wipe them out later (Though I'm pretty sure those of us who have played Spore might have actually done something simillar to this, myself included ).

Any ways, that's just my two cents. I really do hope that the Battalion does make an appearance later in the game.

PS: You're right on the money about the Battalion invasion being remarkably close, time-wise, to the Martian invasion in The War Of The Worlds. That said I like the idea about the Battalion having a War of the Worlds theme if they're (ever) eventually added as an enemy group.

First off, again, thank you Manticore for continuing to read these and try and put the pieces together for us

That said, I just got done reading the "City of" novels again, and have a few questions:

1) I asked this before but didn't really get an answer. According to Stefan (Lord Recluse), Arachnos was responsible for the rise of fascism in Italy. Is there any connection between Arachnos and The Council (the fascist arm of the 5th Column that seperated from them). If so, did Arachnos play a part in that seperation? Seems kind of auspicious that they broke from the 5th column (Issue 3) shortly before Lord Recluse and Arachnos goes public with their control of the Rogue Isles (Issue 6)...

2) Now with the comics, we know what happens to Protean, but what happens to Dr. Null and Revenant? Of course they went to jail, but are they still there? Are there any plans of incorporating them into the game? Plus are there any pictures or concept sketches of them laying around anywhere?

3) Caroline Rossdale. Being a low level psychic even if she got out of jail I could kind of see her fading into obscurity, EXCEPT I would imagine she'd have a reaction to the Carnival of Shadows and the reappearance of "her" mask. Anything to that?

4) And the mask itself. While it's a given Azuria lost it at some point, how did it get back to Italy to be found by Vanessa DeVore? Why didn't it just track her down in Paragon where the mask was held and where she lived anyway? (Assuming that was its goal to begin with)

5) And lastly, as funny as this sounds, this is a serious question. With Azuria's track record and 'revolving vault door' jokes, how does she keep her position in M.A.G.I.? Wouldn't there have been some kind of inquiry or measures taken to find out what's going on, or fix the security breaches at least??

"I play characters. I have to have a very strong visual appearance, backstory, name, etc. to get involved with a character, otherwise I simply won't play it very long. I'm not an RPer by any stretch of the imagination, but character concept is very important for me."- Back Alley Brawler
I couldn't agree more.

My theory is that M.A.G.I.'s frequent losses of powerful magic items and the reason there haven't been any investigations into their security are both because of the arcane machinations of the person who's actually in charge of the M.A.G.I. vault. He's just an artist, you say?
Is he, now?

Does Penny Preston, the Mutant Store Contact in Founders Fall, age or is prolonged youth a side effect of her abilities? Her biography describes her as being a teenager but she looks like a child and I somehow recall her as being described as being 11 years old in the past....

Can we see the original costumes, and learn the powers of, some of the heroes we only know as statues, like Dauntless, Casseopeia, M-1, Wayland, and that really tall guy in the middle of Steel Canyon, whatever his name is?

Does Professor Echo know about Ouroboros? What does Ouroboros think of him?

...Actually, don't answer that unless the answer is "There isn't any connection" or "we hadn't planned on anything" or something like that.

This an awesome idea for a thread. I can't believe I didn't see it until now.

My question is about the Nuclear 90.
What year in the CoX timeline were they born? Who or what exactly caused the phenomenon in the 1st place?
Are there any others known aside from Fusionette? What would their origin be gameplay-wise? (I'm assuming mutant)
Is there any limit to the 'variety of super powers' one could have? (like, would an earth user or psychic for example be out of the question?)
Do they experience any negative side-effects for having nuclear reactors for hearts?

So...yeah. I guess that was several questions, many of which are probably silly, so I apologize.
I really like the concept of the Nuclear 90 though, and want to know more. I made a couple in-game myself, and want to make sure I'm not ROFLstomping the lore.

I guess to sum it up, I'd like to know more about the Nuclear 90.

Thanks!

I am just curious. I recognize some of the heroes on this splash page, such as Statesman, Sister Psyche, and (I think) Back Alley Brawler, but what about these other guys? Do any of them have a place in the CoH lore or are they just generic heroes?

If the Praetorian version of Marcus Cole (Tyrant) gained his powers in approximately the same way as the Primal Marcus Cole (Statesman), is there a Praetorian Stefan Richter?

Why is the CoH Earth considered the Primal Earth? I mean, how do we know it's the default? Or is this just a egocentric assumption that's used in-game?

And the story behind the pistol comes out. Awesome.

Though, chalk me up to being a little disappointed that time was spent answering the question about Ghost Falcon/Invisible Falcon. That's all already in-game.

I'm wondering about the part on Ms. Liberty. Are they hinting that she will "go rogue"?

Question: are Janet Kellum the contact and Valerie Kellum the woman who became Valkyrie related?

Is the Lord of Frosts involved with the Winter events in any way?

I don't recall Ghost Falcon's dimension being specifically said to be the Praetorian dimension.

I think they are. Or at least she'll become a vigilante.

...and still no answers on what the hell Statesman was thinking when he enacted the Freedom Phalanx policy that required heroes to reveal their civilian identities, or how it's possible that the villains haven't all taken advantage of this by holding their loved ones hostage, assassinating them in their sleep or even just breaking into their house to steal their stuff while they're out fighting crime. My god, it's a wonder so many superheroes are still around.

Was there never a Alpha Team time capsule or equivalent? Omega Team was suicide, certainly, but Alpha Team had little hope for survival, too.

Honestly, what the blue blazes is the point of the Mashu Bridge?

Please, for the love of all that is spandex and tights, please answer this.

It's not only a bridge 3 meter high over nothing, it has AN ENTIRE SUB-SECTION of the game devoted to it. Were you guys that sparse on ideas to populate Brickstown?

Compare, also, to the Independence Bridge in Indy Port. It's just a basic suspension bridge, but has sustained colossal damage including Atlas' last stand, is littered in debris, and remains sturdy.

The Mashu bridge is built like a freaking fallout shelter. Are we supposed to stand under it if the city gets nuked? Does it transform into a giant robot? Does it contain the tombs of undead villains? Why is it built like a fortress?

Thanks again for the newest round of answers! I'm hoping you'll get back to a couple of mine in the next round, but 'til then here's a few more I was thinking about recently concerning the Council/5th Column.

Time is very jumbly-wumbly-timey-wimey stuff when you're beebopping around in it, so can be a little confusing. A little clarification please!

1) Requiem. The stories briefly cover that both Nictus (Requiem and Arakhn) followed the Center and went over to the Council. The Imperious Task Force has him leading the 5th Column once more, yet I don't recall any mention of him in the Dr. Khan Task Force.

1a) So is Requiem currently the head of the revived 5th Column in the present as well, or is the Imperious TF about something Requiem did in the past and we've just now discovered; but is ancient history to him in the present? (trust me, this makes sense if you read it slowly )

1b) Are the 5th Column forces in the Dr. Khan TF all from that alternate universe and now are establishing themselves as the new 5th Column on Primal Earth, or were they from here and chose Reichsman as their new leader. Are there any plans (game wise) at a merger or battle between Reichsman and Requiem in the future (assuming Requiem has re-taken the lead of the 5th Column in the present)?

The next set of questions kind of contain spoilers because they're end-content missions...

*spoiler alert*

It would make sense that Requiem would seek to take over the 5th Column again after he escaped prison due to the events in "The Final Darkness" but we see them at The Center's side in Viridian's "Conference of Evil". Does that take place story wise before or after the events in "The Final Darkness"?

**Assuming "The Conference of Evil" takes place before "The Final Darkness":

2a) If Requiem escaped imprisonment and has re-taken the 5th Column to continue the Nictus' plans, will we (in game) be hearing from Arakhn again, and a continuation of that story (and their relationship)?

**Assuming "The Final Darkness" takes place before "The Conference of Evil"

2b) What are Arakhn and Requiem doing under The Center's control again? It's implied The Center is a mutant whose power is to charm or inspire loyalty, but knowing what the two of them want, why would he still keep them around, or alive even? If this is the case, will we be seeing more of that story in the future?

If you made it through this, thank you for taking the time! It's all very jumbled story wise but I'd really love to hear how it all fits together, because it does seem like there's more to it there.

Again, thanks for working to help make more of the story clearer/deeper for those who want to know!

Because it wouldn't be truly a comic book style lore without an occasional continuity glitch. That or Tyrant has been punching the wall dividing our reality from the Praetorian universe, resulting in a few hiccups in the timestream.
