I was told I couldn't log in without filling out the name and password fields, even though they totally were filled out.

Quote:Dual Origin Super Boosters!Personally, I want a second round of origin booster packs. Mostly just the tech one for some new power armor. Though of the ones you listed there, demons or mythical creatures would work for magic, and aliens could be either science or more likely natural, depending on how you look at it.
Magic/Natural: Stage Show
Mutation/Magic: Elemental
Science/Mutation: Freak Accident
Technology/Science: Beep Boop
Natural/Technology: Operator
(they'd probably have less stuff than the current Origin-based super boosters, but would cost less, akin to Dual-Origin enhancements) -
Okay, apparently I wasn't able to download the NClauncher because on the March 3 news update has links to the CoH Installer instead of the NClauncher, which is actually here. http://us.ncsoft.com/en/launcher/ncsoft-launcher.html
Because of the incorrect link, I wasted a whole bunch of time attempting to upgrade to 3.0 or 4.0 .NET framework when the 2.0 I had was fine. Brilliant.
Now I only have to figure out why the launcher won't connect to the Launcher Update Server.
EDIT: Never mind, apparently I am technologically incompetent. -
Okay, I'm starting to get really pissed off here. I downloaded the installer to get the NCLauncher, try to set it up, and then I get to the part that says I need the .Net framework 2.0. I go here, and follow the instructions for XP users.
https://help.ncsoft.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6085
Okay, odd, it links to me a download for 3.0 even though 4.0 is available. Okay, whatever. And now THAT won't set up because it can't even connect to the server for it. What just happened?
Update: So much for installing 4.0 -

I was under the impression you couldn't uninstall just the launcher part of City of Heroes. How would I do that?
-
So I might have to uninstall the entire game before I can download the new launcher? If that's the case, it's a good thing I bought that complete collection box for Going Rogue. -
Quote:...so, a solo Empathy Defender isn't as much of a challenge as it used to be?I've tried running a Defender archer (Trick Arrow & Archery), but it was really weak on offense, as a Defender can be. (Soloing a non-Empathy Defender makes for a challenge.) What about making Trick Arrow a Blaster secondary, so we can run stronger archers? Thanks.

I've said this before but I'll say it again. The least they could do is make it so people stop referring to the 5th Column as "those guys who got their butts kicked by the Council", and also remove that bit of dialogue from that old woman in Atlas Park who spouts nonsense about the Council killing Atlas in the 1950's.

My namesake character is more or less an amalgam of hotblooded robot pilot archetypes, like Koji Kabuto from Mazinger Z(when he's calm) or Ryoma Nagare from Getter Robo(when he's about to smack the crap out of someone). However, at his core, he is based on the greatest giant robot that America has ever produced.

Quote:Did you actually escape, though? Or do you only think you escaped?I wandered into the Bahavioral Adjustment Facility, the red island that's north of Imperial City, and then I couldn't get out. I searched around the area that I thought I came in, but I didn't see any openable doors. I tried jumping the walls, but there was an invisible barrier. When I clicked a landmark outside of the BAF island, I got a waypoint arrow pointing me to a door at the back of a structure that didn't allow me to open. I don't think i came in that door either. What's the deal here? Bug or was I just missing something? Eventually, I had to use the Hospital Express which took a while since the PPD were green to me.

Quote:I like to think there's just a hint of the French pirate accent in there as well.Considering that it was originally settled by French emigres, and later moved to English-only with the influx of people (and languages) from all backgrounds, I've always expected the Etoile language to be one of English with a Etoile-specific accent and a sprinkling of native Etoile-specific words. I often think of African English.

Okay, I updated my drivers, and now it's not freezing nearly as often on opening the Contacts tab(though their faces aren't rendered correctly, if at all). I suppose the real problem is that I may need to add more memory to the computer and/or update the video card.
-
Has anyone had the virtual memory loss AND the computer freezing when you were simply opening up the Contacts tab to get/turn in missions? It can even happen if I'm logged in with the Contacts tab open and I don't close it quick enough. Additionally, in the rare times I CAN open the Contacts tab with impunity, checking the progress on my Detective/Broker makes the computer freeze. And it never unfreezes.

Quote:Yo dawg, I heard you like dual wielding, so we put pistols on your blades so you can shoot while you shank!
-
I thought the same thing when I saw the thread name. I was wondering why the devs would model a Dual Pistols attack after that scene in Pulp Fiction where Vincent accidentally shoots Marvin in the face.
-
What about characters based on silly Internet memes? Are those okay?

The Positron that gives the old version of this Task Force should not only have his helmet on his head, but he should also lack the glowing blue details, like how the character looked at the release of the game.

Ninja ALREADY have enough stuff, what with the regular ninja costume pieces, several powersets(Katana/Ninja Blade, Weapons Mastery for Scrappers, Ninjas for Masterminds and Ninjitsu), and the Martial Arts Super Booster(with Ninja Run power, Katana and Dual Blades customization and MORE ninja costume pieces). Meanwhile, pirates just have the eyepatches, 3 or 4 hats, hook, peg leg, flintlocks for Dual Pistols, and the Nemesis rifles that you can only get by killing 100 Fake Nemeses that only start spawning at level 40. Swashbuckling Assault should have first priority.
