Discussion: Joystiq Interviews Positron
I noticed he talked about the costume creator (again, for the 900000000th time), but made no mention of what they did to PvP.
GG
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict
And now, the (very open) secret is finally revealed.

Not-so-subtle hint at Fifth Column?

Finally, looking beyond Issue 13, we're interested to know what concrete plans you have in place for the following Issue.
Issue 14 is all about the Mission Architect. Issue 15 will be centered around the Fifth... Anniversary of City of Heroes. [Note: The MMO's 5th anniversary will be April 28, 2009.]

I hope, I really, really hope, that this also marks the return of the Fifth Column!!!

Anyone else notice this?
[Edit: Obviously so. Slow Surge is slow.]
NCSoft will be getting no more of my money and my GW2 purchase was halted the day of the announcement. I'm a loyal and very profitable customer. I hope to return to giving them all of my money, should CoH survive.
I really hope it's not anything to do with the 5th Column. Enough of them already. Let's get some super hero stuff in the mix.

The return of the fifth... element???
Reminds me, have to add that to my re-watch list.

That's a heck of a timeframe to keep up with. You are already planning on I15 in 5 months?
Most of the work for the Mission Architect is already done. They made the stretch goals of custom Bosses and the like for MA into actual goals. They detached it from Issue 13 so it would not be delayed until next year. IMHO Issue 14 is more properly called Issue 13 part 2.

You fail, good sir. You fail horribly.
Very disappointed that it seems that bases will be getting the "pointy end of the stick" for the foreseeable future.

I don't think thats the case.
There are many potential overlaps from both the I14 Architect and the PvP changes that dovetail nicely with the base system... I wouldn't be surprised to see quite a few enhancements to bases arise quite naturally from these.
So uh....about that coming storm.....is that still coming....ever?

sounds like new info, I thought the next booster was the "Mac" Valkyrie stuff.....

The only thing "dovetailing" with the Architect would likely be a new use for the mission computer.
As for PVP, a lot of the base building community have already posted to that (heavily censored version): "We don't ever intend to use our bases for PVP".
So try again. We've had a huge list of issues up since Issue 11. Some of the base issues date back to Issue 7 and beyond.

Excellent.

Ice/Ice Blaster, Fire/Fire Dominator, Mind/Emp Controller, Shield/Axe Tanker, Spines/Regen Scrapper, Rad/Pain Corruptor, Petless Thugs/Traps MM(WHY!?), Widow
A zillion alts on Virtue and elsewhere.

And we all know that superheroes have NEVER fought Nazis. Ever. It certainly isn't some of their most classic adventures and where most of the popular heroes got their start.

Who's to say the Fifth Column isn't part of the storm or the storm itself? Remember they have timewarped back to Cimerora to work with Romulus to change things.

Hopefully the traditional wizard hat that is tall and has stars, etc on it. Perhaps the special power will involve use of a magic wand to cast it? Also Wizard capes that include the overly high collar that characters like Dr. Strange, Golden Age GL: Alan Scott and even Dracula have been known to wear.
Wouldn't mind a horror movie themed one where we can get some nice traditional horror movied themed costume parts.

Oh and look at the mess that the lack of information caused with Issue 13... They really hit the player satisfaction out of the ballpark with the Base and PVP changes...
