How? At the end of the day the difference between player created missions and endless radio grinding will be flavor text and a map built from the same Lincoln Logs as every other map in the game.

Actually, I have a feeling it might be more customizable than you think. Remember a couple months ago when Castle was tasked to ask the players about [u]"Abusive" bases[u]? I bet it was so they could start to test this idea out. We probably won't see customizable missions until I13 or I14 (it'll likely be the marquee addition in whichever issue it's attached to) but since they start working on issues long before we see them they've probably already started to test out the tech already.

No no, you have to customize it! I'll make a mission where every single minion is a sapper, every LT is a fortunata seer or night widow, every boss is a paragon protector, gunslinger or ring mistress and every 3rd spawn has a ballista EB.

Said boss is Biff.
Spawns are 1 nullifier, 3 sappers.

Ye gods. If they merge mission branching into this mission creator, and allow for task force creation along with story arcs...

Best. Feature. Ever.

On a side note: there's got to be some kind of review process for these submissions, considering it's a Teen-rated game! I just hope that this process catches the most egregious, abusable farming submissions (like, task forces even faster that Katie Hannon).

Wow, I heard of mission creation being suggested before a few times by a few of the players. Even if I wanted it myself, I never suggested it, since I always thought it would be too big a system. But I... I had no idea you guys would actually do it.

This... this is AMAZING! No words... no words...

I used to create community content for Neverwinter Nights, before becoming a game designer. Oh wow, you can believe me when I say... I am making missions, story arcs, and TF's with Shadowrush's (and other heroes in his group) stories. I can just imagine it now...

Now that I've (mostly) managed to stop babbling incoherently...

Normally, I'd encourage everyone to wait for more implementation details. I'd say that we don't know yet what kind of limitations the new system will have. We don't know how it will work in actual play. I'd advise caution.

You know what, though? Screw caution. This is something we've talked about, asked for, dreamed of. Now we see it on the horizon. I don't care how limited it is, the vision of something fraught with so much potential is magnificent.

Four years in, and things are still getting better. If I wore a hat, it would be off to the devs. A joyous Fourth Anniversary to you all and sweet dreams of more to come!

Well, I'm thinking since Posi said it was just like the costume creator it'll be a drop down list to pick and choose things from and I'm guessing that drops would be scaled/based on what is chosen. I'm thinking the truly customizable part will be more storyline and dialogue. I know, it's pure speculation, but I'm giving the devs the benefit of the doubt that it's not going to be unrewardable or overly abuseable (Yeah, people will abuse it, of course..that's people for ya.)

I'm really psyched about it.

This is certainly one I NEVER expected. Oh, the head-aches they will have! I think the reward could be worth it.

Amazing, truly. For a 4 year old MMO to be able to add these things is unexpected. Very nice.
