Honestly I've slowly been loosing faith and hope over the 4 years I've been playing, however the I12 announcement has rekindled my enjoyment and the prospect of custom missions is just....
It's so grand that I can't accurately express how I feel.

Thank You Posi and the rest for maintaining a great game and for bringing so much more to the table for the future.

Another 4 years? No that's not nearly enough. Another 10!!!

Wow, just wow. Some time ago, I wrote a long story arc/TF concerning the Family's dirty dealings in Independence Port.
Looks like I just might be able to make it, now. It will be really cool if we will be able to do things like add pets in-mission.
Pick an archetype and powerset, and that character gets inserted as the NPC you have to rescue. Kind of like Arbiter Sands in the faultline arc, when you first meet him.
And being able to create instanced outdoor maps would be full of win too- I would love to see Family and dockworker NPC's duking it out on the waterfront, and my heroes getting to stop the war.

I keep thinking there has to be conditions for game content created.
1) Will there be hero vs hero? Example Longbow vs (player)?

2) Will we have full creative freedom? Or will there be an editing phase before its put in game?

3) Can player stories effect the game? Like Lady Grey when completed starts Ritki Bombings, will ours start a Malta strike against all meta humans and mutants?

4) Will players be able to kill or can NPCs die in a mission?

I am just curious on how far it will and can go?

I'll bet there will be a penalty for XP and drops on player created maps. I mean the devs aren't completely stupid, they do know about farming. What would it take, maybe a 25-50% penalty to discourage farming/PL maps?

Personally, I'm really excited about these, just to see some of the stories you guys all come up with. I was pretty into the whole Neverwinter Nights community thing, and although there was a lot of crap out there, the good stuff got noticed and appreciated.

I think the 'build your own mission' qualify for the use of the word 'flabbergasted', which I am.

I tried my share of mmo (DAoC, E&B, AC2, EvE, WoW, SWG, GW), and there's only one where I spent 33 months of hard spent money, and it's here. I surprise myself with being regularly impressed by the devs, their ideas and the implementation. I'm not always happy with everything, but nowhere else did I wonder as often "How come nobody provided that already??? It's so stupidly obvious, it should be available in just every mmo!?"

Warhammer Online and AoC will have to wait open beta before I even look at them...

Curse you.

Also, don't forget that with the new mission branching tech, players will be able to come up with some *really* interesting stories, with actual **choices!!** Moral quandaries for the heroes and pro-active villainy for the villains!

Total HP Healed, and HP Healed outside of the Arena and missions with Lava or Red Damage Crystals.

Total in-game emails sent before and after The Market was introduced.

Hours spent by people standing within 20 feet of a Market.

Average length of description of Virtue chars, compared to all other servers.

Number of cookies and pieces of Cake or Pie eaten.

Average bridge requests per hour for an unteamed level 46 char on Freedom. Also anchor requests for level 41 chars.

Questions -

Will there be a cost involved ether for getting the pack or to upload our own content?

Will custom dialog be limited to mission text or when the mobs talk (Taunting and such)

Cut scenes??!?!? Please????

Will we be able to make our own custom AV/EB for story arcs? Even if it is limited to skinning current or generic powersets.

How will you handle and/or prevent farming so that the current economy does not suffer, but make running custom missions rewarding to the masses?

Would it be possable to generate PVP missions? Scripted story arcs that allow both sides to enter and fight? What about co-op missions?


I LOVE the idea here, being an avid RPer this has huge possibilities.

How? At the end of the day the difference between player created missions and endless radio grinding will be flavor text and a map built from the same Lincoln Logs as every other map in the game.

That's not to say that I wouldn't be interested in playing a series where the flavor text was written by Troy or others of his ilk, but this really isn't the Second Coming some folks are making it out to be.

Yeah! Mission designing in my head already..

Hmm, Kinda need to know what props are available..

I hope lots of objects props can be used as glowies. As in cars, candy machines, the gas meters outside of buildings.. lots and lots of objects means lots of plot ideas.

I also hope the branching dialog is implemented into this too by then.

Until I know what tools we have available, I guess I'll have to hold off on pre-working on mission ideas, drats.

But this is very very exciting news! Brilliant!

That I think would be the ideal implimentation of it. God I can't wait for more details. I have been running arcs for my SG for the better part of two years, changing mobs/maps/story to fit the story we wanted to tell for the group. (after the 10th time saving the warrior clan village you really do want to let it just blow up.)

This will be so bloody awesome.

*note to self: Track down Ascendant, assemble a story-arc wherein Nemesis is trying to obtain Ascendant-Os from the family for use in an Ascendant Death Squad, and the heroes have to steal a variety of terrible toy concepts before they cause lawsuits.

I wonder if it'd be possible to make an "Ascendant Lunchbox" temp power that has 30 uses and each use is a 10% chance for a Vial of Bees?

Wow! I came up with an idea of player created missions already and I can't help but feel my idea contributed to this. If Posi described it right, then most of the features I came up with are in the real thing. Here's my post about it

I think I'll make a mission that has a big field with lots of demons evenly spaced out in nice sized groups. Let's say 6 to 10 of them in each group, but no more than 10.

Yeah, I bet that will win the award for most popular mission...
