    Base Upkeep?

Anyone know if you can register two copies of the same edition? I am trying to reinstate my VIP status to get into my base to take screenshots before it all goes poof (which hopefully will not happen). As far as I know I have bought every single edition and registered on this account. However I am willing to spend the money to re-buy, but I would rather not pay for Going Rogue and be unable to activate it.

Part two of this question. Can a non-VIP invite/promote to SG? If I can't activate two copies of GR on the same account, perhaps I can find an extra free account that my son had and activate GR there, then promote and open up the base.

I am also open to other suggestions if anyone has any.
  2. I was really enjoying the signature arcs and was telling everyone how much the storytelling has improved in the past year or so...

This "reveal" has taken what could have been an epic moment in playing through the arc and relegated it to "meh". I'm really disappointed at how casually this was done. The entire build up of the storyline so far was WHO will die, not HOW will Statesman die. Put another way, if the lead in to the initial arc had been "The DEATH of Statesman" ala "The Death of Superman", then yes the big reveal would have been how.

I mean, really. What the heck?

    So, disappointed.
  3. Wow! After all these years, I had almost given up on base building improvements. Great job devs! Thanks a ton!

    League Content?

What content is available that will let you utilize Leagues (i.e. 9 or more players)? Is there anything besides the trials? Anything other than level 50 content?
  5. Does anyone know a good location to purchase GR for less than $29? I'd like to add it for my wife's account if I can find it cheaper. Feel free to PM me if you would prefer to answer that way.
  6. Definitely needs to reset with WST. Making a visible timer would still require you to log in and go check that timer. And the coding involved for that would be much more resource consuming than matching it to the WST.
  7. Doom!

or... not. Hopefully its a price re-evaluation that is going on. I am not even going to concern myself with whether or not there will be rebates for those like myself who picked some up already. I am just going to be happy if they come back at 80 or less

The real disappointment for me is that there is not more of a marketing push to inform the purchaser of EXACTLY what pieces are available in EACH Bundle.

These bundles absolutely need a list of parts. I understand if the tech is not there to list them in the store. I understand if the tech is not there to let me click the entire set to preview in the costume creator. However, the tech IS there to set up a web page that lists EVERY PIECE that is available in a bundle. That way, I can check each piece in the costume creator if I so desire and I can make an INFORMED decision about my purchase. I should not be required to hunt this stuff down in the costume creator, and honestly I am probably missing half the pieces in my search.

Yes, this will take some resources on the part of Paragon, but you are asking the consumer to spend real money here. We need this information. I also think you will see consumers much more willing to buy if you put a bundle list somewhere on the website. As it is, I feel like I am being asked to purchase some magic beans...

Actually, i just did this with an alt account a couple of months ago. I just went to check the re-invite email which said:

Your friend, ********, has sent you a Reactivation Credit Serial Code. If you decide to reactivate your City of Heroes or City of Villains account, you will split 60 days of FREE game time!
30 days split may have been for inviting a new player rather than a returning player.

I know its past work hours, but I wished they could do something after 7pm PDT sometime. I never get home before 6:45pm on weekdays.

I don't even care which server, although my main is Virtue and I have a presence on Exalted and Freedom, I would not mind joining in on something like this with fresh meet on a new server.
  11. I am glad there IS an incentive, but I will point out that it is nowhere near as great an incentive as it used to be.

Previously, if you invited back a friend who was not able to play the game at all (and was probably in withdrawal anyway) and they came back paid for a month, you each received 30 days free. So you each received $15 in value (roughly).

Now, if you convince a friend who is already playing the game for nothing, to actually spend money on a one month access to VIP-ness that they could otherwise use for upgrading their premium account instead , then you each receive... what? About $6.25 in value?

If seems like a much harder sell for significantly less benefit to me, but maybe I am missing something.

It is something, which is better than nothing, but I am certainly not Kermit-flailing over it.
  12. So, will the market let you buy the story arc if you are a ViP?

If so, this seems... wrong. Taking my money for something I am already paying for.

As I look back, I think I already made this mistake with the IDF costume set as well. I purchased it, but now that I think about it isn't it free for VIPs?

I plan on keeping my sub running, so I should not pay for these things. Moreover, I should not be /able/ to pay for these things. If, for some reason, I drop my sub and then want to pay for them, that's fine.

At the very least they need a bold bright disclaimer and confirmation box if I am trying to buy something that my subscription is already giving me.
  13. Honestly, I through the points at it yesterday, because I am a sucker for pirates, and on talk like a pirate day no less. Some marketing guy is loving me.

This morning, major buyer's remorse, something I have NEVER experienced with COH, as I thought about how much I spent for one single (permanent) costume power. Even on sale, its MUCH too high. I'm not whining, mind you, I should have thought about the purchase some more (but it was a pirate! AARRR!!!)

But looking at in hindsight, I won't let these things burn me again, no matter how tempting.

Now, the question is, what price is reasonable. 80 would be where I would want it set, and that's where I would likely scoop up one to five each month of the ones I like most. However, being realistic, I might buy one I /really/ like every 3-6 months if they were anywhere from 150-250. Any higher than 300, and I have bought my last of these, I think.

Unless maybe they add a Kronos Titan

    That's not a trade-off, that's a bonus
  15. Almost positive this is somehow bugged. I show 140 hours on a toon I created 2 weeks ago. I played him quite a bit, but at most only 2.5 hours per weeknight and 5 hours per Saturday and Sunday.

That's 45 hours from his creation on the 15th. And that's with me calculating high on the play times and not subtracting out the time I spent playing other characters. My best guess of actual time playing this character is 25-35 hours.
  16. Umm...

1 week notice? That's a bit short. Any chance this could be extended at least til after labor day? I had a cyborg pack purchase planned for the 1st. :/

  18. Better. MUCH Better. SOOO Much Better.

Now this is how you re-vamp an iconic enemy group!

Kudos to the team taking player feedback and applying it to the group.

    Brief answer, yes.

I think an iceslide would be amazing. If it could also be skinnable, so to speak, so that we could make it a slide of solid energy or crystals or rock or asphalt... that would just make it all the better.

Although the iceslide gets my top vote, other hover style platforms would also be desirable, and I can imagine that they would be much easier to do, so I would not be sad if some of those slipped in while sliding travel powers were under development.

Mounts go further down the list. That said, motorcycles and hovercycles should top the list of "mounts".

Back to sliding powers for a moment. I could see this really working well as an extra travel power POOL called Matter Manipulation. This could add some other powers in the pool such as soft control cages that immobilize the target. Of course that adds to the development time, but it would be absolutely magnificent!
  20. Ghost Widow is certainly at the top of the list. The look is simple and iconic. Very inspiring as well. Manticore, however, is plain and boring (which I hate, because I love the character, and the look does not do him justice.).

Another very nice rendition is Maelstrom. His look is again iconic and really brings a sense of determination. The new look for Mother Mayhem is also very good at conveying the character's will and dominance.
  21. I don't suppose dollars spent now will earn me extra loyalty reward tokens?

I really want to buy a rename and two more slots. I know patience is a virtue and all, but come on Paragon, take my money now before I go spend it all at the Borders closeout sale.
  22. Thanks for the input. At the moment I am keeping the second slot with the pre-ED build and slotting, including the SOs. Mostly for nostalgia, but also so I can see the difference in effectiveness firsthand. I will probably change it up at some point for a good tricked out set build, but that's probably several months away
  23. Any advice on a defensive build with just IOs or SOs? I have a 50 fire/fire tank still set up from pre-ED that I would like to get running again and I need somewhere to start. Believe it or not, he still holds his own just fine with the pre-ED slotting, which surprised me.
  24. I invited a friend back to play, and had my account credited for 30 days of bonus time since they actually subscribed. This pushed renewal date out to August. So the question is, do I get credit for the subscription in July and earn the 400 paragon points for the month, or did I just cost myself five bucks?

Not a major problem, mind you. I am just curious how that plays out.

A similar question would be whether or not the friend who reactivated gets 400 or 800 points (they get 30 days bonus also).
