Part of the next free expansion, Issue 12: Midnight Hour, is the makeover of the Hollows Zone.

War Witch, the Level Designer who's doing the Hollows Gameplay Makeover, wanted me to point out that the changes are to address spawns and that there are no significant art changes (like moving buildings, etc.) being done with the changes.

We'll have more information and details about all the features of Issue 12: Midnight Hour in forthcoming web articles.

First post! *Edit* Darn. Took to long.

And what sort of make overs are we talking here? Are missions being redone? Is the zone not going to be seven thousand miles long any more? What enemy groups are being added?

I thought zones that needed redone were the ones that nobody used... And I also thought the Hollows was one of the more populated of the lower level areas...

A hospital and paper missions. This zone needed it. I've avoided it since about I3 or 4. Wonder if the "new" villain groups are new/new or just another of the old Paragon standbys?

I actually went into the Hollows for the first time on a lvl 40 character the other day. I was rather proud to see that dark map. I may actually stop avoiding it now.

I've asked for a hollows revamp a few times... glad to see its getting SOMETHING done. If only because heroes have been there for years and nothing's improved.

I wonder who the "new" enemy group is...

More than likely it'll go a similar rennovation that Faultline did. Some of the area will be reclaimed, some of it still all quakey and stuff, with some new Contacts/villians chucked in there. Not that there's anything wrong with that . The new faultine rules.

I can't wait to see the upgrades, this along with Cimerora will make 1-25 a breeze!

I can see it now, Atlas (Sewers Team) - > New Hollows - > Cimerora - > Faultline - > Talos Island. Before ya know it, you'll be sitting pretty at level 25 in no time at all!

Yay! I hope they change the Cavern of Transcendence Trial as part of this change.

The mobile hospital is a welcome change ... I hate having to zone.

Repeatable missions ... is that a "Police Scanner" or a Talk-to-Contact thing? Would be interesting if there is some kind of Hollows Safeguard, eh?

The win on this issue is getting kinda silly!


The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Woot! I like the Hollows every now and then but the missions are always a pain to get through, I may go back now!

Wouldn't have been my first choice for the part of the level 5-15 game that most needed overhaul, to put it mildly. There are things about the Hollows that suck, but it's still better than all ten other story arcs in the 5-15 range combined. But yeah, the Hollows did need a little bit of touch up, so I'm glad to see it. I'm just disappointed, a little, because I think the developer time would have been better spent on revamping the other level 5-15 blue-side contacts instead.

About bloody time. Did it once when it came out. Have avoided it ever since. My least favorite hero zone... yes, I'd rather street hunt Boomtown or Crey's with 0 content than spend time in the currnet Hollows.

Here's to improvement. Looking forward to giving it another go around.

They need to add a GM to the zone. Maybe a giant troll named Grendel that spawns down in the gulch.

These already exist, they were first added in Fire Base Zulu. Basically, just the porters with no building around it.

Desperately needed!

It got to the point that I was avoiding any mission that had to do with the Hollows. It just frustrated me so much that it wasn't worth it.

Hopefully now I'll enjoy The Hollows.

I have a feeling that if it isn't Issue 13, it will be revamped shortly thereafter. That place needs some life breathed into it. I'm not opposed to Perez getting some love as well though. The Kraken gets awful lonely with no heroes to hide from.
