I can't wait to see the upgrades, this along with Cimerora will make 1-25 a breeze!
I can see it now, Atlas (Sewers Team) - > New Hollows - > Cimerora - > Faultline - > Talos Island. Before ya know it, you'll be sitting pretty at level 25 in no time at all! -

Part of the next free expansion, Issue 12: Midnight Hour, is the inclusion of new Villain Epic Archetypes.
Please use this thread to discuss that aspect of Issue 12: Midnight Hour.

Alright, a few questions:
Do we get the Crab mechanical spider arms?
Do we get different powers than those listed for Arachnos troops in ParagonWiki?
Do we get some sort of pet with MM controls?
Are we still stuck with the PPP?
Does the branching work like the Kheld forms where you can switch at anytime?

Similar to how kheldians do not get epic ETs at all. I have a feeling that VEATs will either have their own PPPs. Or they will not get access to it at all as well. But only time will tell.

Tad harsh don't you think. So he's not excited about the VEAT. Not everyone will be.

EVERYONE WILL BE EXCITED! EVERYONE!

I play heroes 90% of the time, out of the 12 character slots I have. Only 1 is dedicated towards villians, and I'm excited towards this. It's the pull needed to make me play some more villians. =D -

...What about Ice Brutes?

Looks like brutes are gonna get battle-axe. Judging from the picture at least. I'm all for weapon sets on brutes though! -
Wow, this entire issue is full of awesome! Midnight squad seems like its gonna be an awesome NPC group to work with! I think I may actually have a reason to get a villian up to 50 now.
The villian epic archetype looks really cool, I've always wanted a set that branches out to different "jobs" or so to speak. I severely wonder how they will play like and hope to see great thigns about em! So excited! -

The nastiness from other servers in this thread fails epicly.
[/ QUOTE ]
No it really doesn't. There's no sympathy for most of of you folks because you simply don't deserve any. All of the big complainers I've seen have forum reg dates no later than 2005. That means most of you have played through every other 2x weekend and most of the big events that's happened since release. If you couldn't see the writing on the wall it's because you shut your eyes to it.
I saw the writing on the wall after the last 2x weekend. Freedom's been my home since before I1, but I wasn't going to play through that mess again. It just wasn't fun. So I decided to make all of my new toons on Justice. Most of my coalition has toons there as well now, and we're having a grand old time this weekend. All of you -- or near enough all to make no difference -- had this same opportunity. You could have paid to have your characters transferred to another server, or you could have done what I did and just started rolling new toons on a different one.
All of my high-level heroes are still on Freedom, and they'll probably stay there. I'm not spending money to move them -- but I don't feel the dev's owe me free transfers either. I rolled most of those toons before I1, but even then I knew what I was getting into. I've played other MMOs, I know what high-pop servers are like. If you're being honest with yourselves, I'd bet most of you did too.
And for the PvPers -- you were forewarned just like the rest of us. Not too long ago there was a discussion to choose an official unofficial live PvP server. It was pointed out several times that allowing Freedom to be the de facto PvP server would mean exactly what it has this weekend. I remember at least one of you participating in that discussion. How some of you can expect sympathy now just boggles my mind.
The only bone I'm willing to throw any of you is that they should have had a queue mechanism up for this event so that folks who want to stand in line to play on Freedom can. That's the only complaint I've seen that comes close to being legitimate in this entire thread or deserving of sympathy.

KidQuik, has the thought occured to you that perhaps they wanted to get the crashing bug fixed the first time around? Bug fixing isn't quite simply "Oh, there is a bug. Lets fix it and be over with it". Newp, there is ALOT of datamining to be done to pinpoint the exact cause of the bug, then you have to investigate what is wrong with the bug, before even attempting to develop a fix. Yes, it takes time. But I sure as well appreciate the fact that Cryptic took their time and decided to do it right, instead of doing an attempted fix the day after I8 released, only to change something that had no effect on the bug for everyone. (Because you gotta remember, when 100, 000+ players play this game, and not everyone is on the forums. You gotta be sure to get em all).
Its something that the team cannot wave a magic wand and make disappear. Its definately not something that cryptic can devote its entire workforce into.
Ontop of that, lets say Posi DID just put the entire game on halt. Devoted everything he had into getting the bug fixed fast. Well, now I gotta wait an additional month or two for I9, or I gotta wait longer for the V-Day event.
Stop thinking so 2-Dimensional. The game needs to meet the demands and satisfactions of MANY MANY players, and so far Cryptic has done a bang up job working on it. I salute them for being able to push this far, and look forward to seeing more.

Priorities and communication skills at Cryptic to be put simple.. SUCK.

One thing that seems to get to me, is how often enough. The topic that video games are teaching children how to aim a gun, shoot people, and such. Now, I'm a gamer, proud to be one too. I enjoy all sorts of games.
Now, in the video. They seem to state "We are who we pretend to be." Now, I play games. But on the side, I enjoy archery. Now, if I roll up a Archery/Nrg blaster. Am I gonna go out and find some guy in street clothing and shoot him with my bow? Because... apparently, I am who I'm pretending to be. In this case, a Archery/Nrg blaster.
No, I'm not. Because just like every other straight minded gamer out there, I know where to draw the line between reality and fantasy. I know theres a differance between pressing 1, and drawing my bow and aiming at my target for a clean shot.
I'm not who I'm pretending to be, nor will I ever be a bow n' arrow, pom-pom punching superhero.
The point is, the whole "You are who you pretend to be" statement is bull. I dunno, just needed to vent. -
Heres a breakdown of what I think of this video, what impact it may have, and my personal opinions about this discussion. Feel free to add, etc, etc.

Whoever tells the stories, defines the culture. Now, the storytellers for millions of our kids are video games. Violence has always been with us, its been with us since cain slew abe. But its always be recongized as a vice, not a virtue.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, yes. Storytellers do define the culture, stories past down from one generation to another is what helps children, people, and societies build their morals. Now, according to these guys, the storytellers are video games. While a very broad and in my opinion, incorrect statement. Lets review this.
Why? Why are the video-games telling the stories to children? Because parents are either too lazy, or they are too pre-occupied with the ratrace of life to do it themselves. Games, T.V, Movies, etc. They have all been a way for parents to "get away" from their children. Once again, repeated for the who knows how many times. RESPONSIBILITY RELIES WITH THE PARENTS. If I was a parent, and my 8 year old was playing GTA3. First thing I would do is take it away, lock it up for a good 5-8 years. Child cries, well. Now is a good time to teach the child some morals huh?
[ QUOTE ]
We issued a challange to the video game industry, we said don't want to get into this, and have the government regulate video games, and force you to adopt a rating system. But if you don't do it yourself. We will.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow... just simply wow. You don't want to get into this? So don't. Just walk away there... But apparently you DO. So nice contradictary sentence there.
Anyway, every game I look at now-a-days does indeed have a rating system. I find it to be a very good rating system. I'll tell ya a story.
I was recently buying a video-game for my 6 year old niece, katheryn. She was with me, and I told her to pick out a video game. Anyone. Just, go ahead. Pick. She picked up "Mortal Kombat: Deception". I simply turned to her and said this. "Hm.. Sweetie, this game may be a bit too old for you. I'll show you." So I turned the box around, and shown her the ESRB, and helped her understand how the rating system works. I told her that the M, meant for Mature. Older people may enjoy this game, it features a few things she didn't find pleasant. Like Blood, Gore, etc. In the end, she picked out a cute little Kitty Sim. Loves the game, plays it all the time.
Anyway, just by sitting down there for that brief period and explaining to her how the rating system works. I may have set her on a path where she understands what she can, and cannot play untill she has matured enough to understand the concept, and not go completely nuts over it.
My take on Nature vs Nuture however. Alot of you may have different opinions.
Anyway, this video is long and boring. So heres my final take on this video.
Statesman, your presence in this video is highly unjust. You are a symbol of justice, heroism, and peace. I was highly peeved when I saw your face in this video, to the point I had to rewind and see it again just to believe it. I can't comprehend how you feel towards it. But I can believe you are just as astronished as the rest of us.
I really fear that this will have a negative impact upon the MMO I love dearly and do not want to see people accusing me of being violent because I play City of ...
I seriously hate what the media is doing blaming violence on something I enjoy that helps me relax and have a good day. Yes, a few games have made me angry when they were difficult. But that anger I channeled into playing better, and overcoming a challange in a game makes me feel better about myself and such. There is nothing wrong with that, I enjoy it and I enjoy gaming with friends and family.
Where is the crime in that? Where is the violence? Did I hit anyone? Did I throw my wii-mote into the T.V again?
Anyway /end rant -
