What happened to my question double xp weekend after issue 11? Debt clearing _bleh i likie me debt gets me shineys.... prestige i got base i want some upgrades be nice but if no new base stuff why bother?

First, let me address the double xp weekend question. No official person has said anything about this, so I doubt it will happen.
I cant find the post now, but someone said that they noticed that we seem to get two a year, one in the Jan-feb, and one around july.
Why not give us one now? The answer is simple business. People who have let thier subscriptions die tend to re-subscribe for double xp weekends. However people do the same for new issues, special events (like Halloween and Christimas events).

We have the Halloween event, followed by Issue 11, followed by the free gifts, followed by the Christmas event. People are renewing thier subscriptions for these kind of things already. I reactivated an old second account simple because of the prestige thing. They do not NEED to intice subscriptions by doing a double xp. Save that for sometime when there is a 2-3 month gap in issues and there is no special events. It simple business.

As to the base stuff. During the interviews and articles about the recent acquisition, it was noted that NCSoft would behiring more designers and would be working on new base stuff and fixing some of the stuff we have (maybe CoP? Raids?) So while the 3 million might not do MUCH for you now, it doesnt expire, and six to eight months from now, it might be more useful. Dont look a gift horse in the mouth.

yay! December 10th is my birthday so i will be looking forward to the SG Prestige boost..will get us a bigger base at least..although hopefully the 150 member boost will arrive much earlier than dec 10th so we can get the max prestige possible!

The simplest and best solution would be to get rid of Prestige altogether. It is now, always has been, and will remain, a rip-off; a clunky artifice to limit achievement and force continued time spent online to compensate for either/or states of earning... Influence I need to craft, or Prestige I need to support my SG?

The exchange rate is an insult to players' intelligence, and the whole idea of YET ANOTHER form of "currency" is so transparent a deception as to be absurd, yet in addition to Influence (or Infamy, a pointless piece of fluff-naming) we now have not only Prestige but "Vanguard Merits"... yawn.

Leave the Debt, Wipe the Prestige and the Merits, and make everything an Influence-based economy.

THAT'S fair to everyone; you may be behind the curve in Influence-earning to start, but you will know that every point you earn during your gameplay will be universally valid.

I would have to say this would be very nice, not having to farm pillboxes or mobs for hours trying to earn pres and then doing that all over again to get inf, give us one form of cash to use for everything...makes things simpler and ore user friendly. But this would also call for soe form of donation system for your SG, so anyone can donate however much inf they want the SG to have. Great idea, would love to see it happen, but unlikely

To be clear, getting the other side of the game was a one time thing. If you make a new account with just CoH you will only have CoH (or vice versa for CoV).

Would the account had to have been active at the time or would it show up as such afterwards if the account was reactivated? The account I'd set up for a cousin of mine wasn't active since the last free reactivation period, and having checked it in the Account Management, it's just showing the CoV Collector's edition and the earlier 14-day trial.

There's gonna be a lot of crosser-server filler alt swapping and trial account padding going on as a result of the prestige grant. 3 million to each SG/VG, regardless of roster-size, would have been a smarter gift, as the mass puppet account and filler toon creation is just wasteful.

Please folks, when you create your filler toons, try not to tie up any cool names.

I, too, think a one-time gift of 3 million prestige would've been nice. Seems less space to be taken up on the servers with all the accounts created, etc. But what do I know.

Regarding names taken: I'm doing mostly things like Filler1, Filler2, Filler3.

Makes it easier to spot after Dec. 10 when there will be The Great Purge.

Speaking of which... when is the earliest we can remove members? December 11th?

If the prestige grant happens during the daily maintenance window, you can trim down your SG right after that.

I've had some questions about if a character that hasn't been active for a while but is still listed as in a supergroup, if they will count toward the 20,000 grant. The 20,000 is applied for each member in the supergroup, regardless of their activity or status. If they show on the roster, they will be included in the 20,000 per member grant on the 10th.

Well, more like it rewards a "different" kind of play than a "wrong" kind of play. We've got lots of members and we try to welcome everyone's alts and still enjoy being able to invite folks who we've played with for a while who might also have lots of alts, etcetera, and it's a pain to have to maintain (at least one) overflow-SG whose members have only limited access to the Main SG's facilities.

He was referring, of course, to making a bunch of disposable alts with trial accounts to pad out the SG which I think is fair to call "the wrong style of play." Try harder not to read things that aren't being stated, he didn't mention lesser played alts, at all.

If it was on the 10th before the servers go down for the regular Monday maintenance period (9 EST) you get the bonus. This is a script that they will run likely during or just after server maintenance, as they're bringing the servers back up, but before they open them for the customers to log back on. At least that was how it happened last time they did this, as part of the first double XP weekend.

I never get in debt. Other players get me in debt. Still would like to hear something about the next installment of City Of Heroes per the acquisition.

The news announcement has my curiousity up now. Only thing is my wallet isn't quite ready for a new pc. So I may be out. Could just barely handle Tabula Rasa.

Another add-on to what they have out. I can afford another collectors edition for City Of Heroes/City of Villians/and ???. And I can be sure it will run.

Food prices are starting to sky-rocket. Hmmmmm. People gonna notice them charts and their fun stuff being cut back. So will maybe NCSoft.

Thanks for being so responsive on this, Lighthouse.

Just to be clear, does the 20,000 bonus apply to each member (i.e. game account, global handle) on the roster or to each character on the roster?

In other words, is it truly of benefit for everyone to run out and pack their SGs with shill characters belonging to the same account? A supergroup with 13 members can receive the full 3 million bonus as long as all their slots are enrolled in the same SG?
