  1. I found it useful for opening combat on the Oni. Usually for mobs that were either too tough (or perceptive) for the Jounin alone, or in conjunction with their opening attacks. However, that doesn't mean I can't see dropping it.

    especially making levelling easier. Right now, my belief is that level advancement may be too quick as it is.

    If I'm reading Winterminel's post correctly then failure, or worse deciding not to stop the villain, may cause a zone event. like spawning an GM (think Crimson's World Wide Red), or an event similar to a Zombie/Rikti invasion.

    Also the players involved wouldn't even be directly meeting, a doppelganger of the character implement the mission would be, I assume, the Big Bad of the mission.
  5. Stuff I'd like to see.

    Red Side: Give a choice in starting locals. Either Port Oaks, or Mercy. Make both zones for levels 1 to 15. Both Zones are fairly good sized and can both stand some level expansion. Their's so much in both zones, and neither are fully utilized. Also expand the level range of content for Cap to 10-20.

    Blue Side: Content and mission revamp/rewright. As many have pointed out the early story arcs are starting to show their age, and could use fresh dialogue.
  6. Agreed, regarding the Goldbrickers, they seem more Rougesh to me as well. Personally, I always thought it was a shame they were stuck in Cap. So a broader story line with them would be welcome.

    The Sky Raiders are more on the other side of the spectrum of Rouges, they're pure Mercenaries. To be honest I can see leaving them alone story wise. Perhaps a slight rewright here and there to emphasize their Mercenary leanings.

    With the obligatory quote outta the way, I begin. I know what I would like to see, (some love for bases, revamps of the various hazard zones, more content, ect) but looking at what's been done so far here's what I think we'll be seeing soon tm.

    A DA revamp - the clues that something big is happening there have been very obvious though out the morality missions. and it appears that both the Tsoo, and the Legacy Chain are actually gearing up for what ever is going to happen. (Maybe something to do with Lughebu perhaps) Anyways I smell a TF/SF

    Or;

    The Moon Base revealed - Over a year ago they were getting ready to take us to the Moon, and it hasn't happened yet. You can still see the workers building the road to the launch site in PO, and other workers tearing down a portion of the War Wall in Steel.

    Or maybe;

    The War walls are going down! - Okay I personally give this a low probability, but I can see it happening. At the same time they were talking about the Moon Base, one of the Devs (I think it was Positron, but I could be mistaken) announced the War Walls were going to be torn down. Still, I think it's on the table somewhere. But as I said, I don't think it's going to happen.

    Or Perhaps;

    20-40 (or higher) content for Praetoria - To tell the truth, I felt that what we got from i18 was only a taste of things to come. I didn't want my characters to leave, I wanted them to work IN Praetoria to accomplish their gaols. And with the sheer awesomeness they did there I'd love to see the story reaching from 1-50.

    Or we could see something completely different. In any case well see when it arrives.

    Actually, if I remember correctly He considers all of the EU to be little more then fan fiction. If it isn't done have the Lucasfilms logo somewhere, then it isn't cannon.

    That's a cool idea. Personally, it's one of the things I liked about the Ghouls in general. The dropdown ability certainlly gives them a 'horror' esq feel, and I think would work well with the Vamyri.

    To be honest, I find the 'no gurlz allowed' thing more sexist than some doofus trying to recreate Sin City.     Can you point me at any info about this? I'm not doubting you, I'm just having trouble seeing how it creates balance. Seems to me the mercs set is actually IMbalanced by the medic's failitude. The arsonist, I could see; his attack's pretty powerful. But I'd frankly rather see his attack nerfed a bit if that's what it takes to keep him from trying to headbutt the bosses.
    (sits back lights a pipe) way back when, during the beta for CoV intact, it was apparently possible to change it. However, they discovered that it made the minions too powerful. So instead they set it so they cycle though ALL of their powers. which sadly includes brawl.

    To be honest I've been looking for the dev post, but the one I'm thinking of was well before the last server migration, so it may have been eaten by the forum monster. Also my search fu is week.

    Yeah, I gather it'd be a lotta work. Colors or preset skins would be a start.
    Actually I think reskining them would be the easiest approach. but I'm not going to hold my breath, even though it's something MM players have been wanting since day one. You think it's bad now? you should see a teem with two or three MM with the same minions. Now that was a nightmare.

    -Pets die when dismissed.- Yeah i have to agree with you there. But not all do. Jounin use smoke bombs, and demons, get swallowed up by an infernal pit. Perhaps, something like the costume change emotes, would be nice i suppose.

    -Appearance changes whenever you go through a door. - I think this is because, they respawn every time you zone. There may be no way around this issue. and It certainly beets the alternative. Or do you like the Idea of re summoning every minion at the beginning of each mission?

    -All gendered pets are male. - Been requested, and devs have stated it's not going to happen, due to the possibility of pimping issues.

    -Mercs medic is suicidal. & Thugs arsonist has a deathwish. - this has to do with the ai, apparently it's not something they can fix for balance reasons.

    -No customization whatsoever. - it's been suggested. personally, I think we'd be more likely to be able to customize their colours. I don't believe they will be able to set it so we can change what they look like. even though it is possible.

    -Mercs summon radio is the size of a lunchbox.- Yeah, but so are all the radios in Cox. I think it may because the war walls make radio transmition difficult.

    The murals, graffiti, and advertisements are good ideas.

    Heck I'd also love to see the occasional NPC working on them. Possibly saying on occasion "Well no. I don't know how they shut them down." or "Wait, what dose the manuel say? Blue wires? what Blue wires?". Well you get the picture.
  14. Personally, I'd be in favour of a War Wall face lift, but not their removal. Not that they look bad, but they could use some upgrades.

    Besides, I'd rather resources were directed toward zone revamps.

    Right now with the Ricti invading off and on, and then the odd Zombie Apocalypses, then we've got the pending Preatorian invasion, AND the soonish Shivin invasion (remember that mission from Orborous!). There are more then enough reasons to keep them up. The last thing we want to do is make it easier for impending armies to attack!

    Not that I'm paranoid or anything. no.
  15. My own heroic Demon/Thermal mm, isn't calling demons from what ever place bad people go to. No they are manifestations of her inner personal demons. Just being directed at evil.

    Possible side affects? Well, will have to see.

    Issue 13 Update

  22. Okay, I ran two different stress tests, and here are the results.

    First Test:Me and a friend of mine using a 50, and a 49 MM, respectively. We decided to run Lord Nem.... err, Mender Silo's SF. Good news I did not DC, although I did get some lag during outdoor missions. The only time it got very bad was when we were ambushed by three heroes, but even then the lag wasn't bad enough to make it impossible to do things. That said I received no lag what so ever on the indoor maps.
    Note: The Minion's buff icons do not vanish when the buff wears off, or the minion leaves the area of effect. I found this made things very difficult for my Ninja/ MM, as i like to use Jounin for my Alpha strike.

    Second Test: Just me and my L25 stalker. Mission was the Mend Breakout Ouroboros mission. Before I12 this mission was impossible, literally. I would walk out into the prison yard for the second half of the mish and DC shortly afterwards. After I12 launched, I could complete it but I still had a hefty amount of lag, again in the prison yard. Mostly, this was caused by mobs fighting each other. But as I said I could complete it.

    Anyways that's my report. Thanks Devs for this improvement!

    As a dial-up user I have to say I can already see the improvement. Teaming is much easer, with fewer Lost Map server messages. I'd like to test it further, maybe latter today, and see if my master mind can team on a mayhem mish. (teaming became impossible for me post 40, or 42)

    So far I haven't had much of a chance to play mine yet, but I must say I'm loving them. I have nothing but prise for both the widows, and the spiders. I can't wait to see how they'll do at higher levels.
