I likes my debt!
I likes my prestige more, so it all balances out.

They've already said that the prestige grant is coming AFTER Issue 11.
Issue 11 will hit before December 10th, and they have an internal release date set.
Sweet.
I'm interested to see how we can get up to 3,000,000. 20,000(75) = 1,500,000.

Issue 11 increases the roster size of SGs to 150.

Will this debt wipe count as debt paid? I am trying to get my badge but don't want to have to die a few times over again just to get it, if I don't already pay off what I need by then.
And just to be clear:
If you're working on the Debt Badges, you get credit for dept wiped out through gaining XP. Since this is not a grant of XP, this debt wipe doesn't count for the badge.
For those working on their Debt Badge, this is not very good news. Please note that others have voiced their concerns over this, and yet, they will be going through with the debt wipe. It is highly, highly unlikely that any complaining at this point will make them change their minds.
However, you have a month's warning. If you're going for the Debt Badge, finish up any debt you have on your own before Dec 10. Wait for the wipe date, then start dying again to continue working on the Debt Badge.
For those who aren't working on the Debt Badge and have no debt, this may seem like a non-gift. Well, it is. Not all gifts are usable by all people. Some have more costume tokens then they'll ever use, and yet, costume tokens will continue to be given out as gifts. Some have more respecs than they'll ever use, and yet, there will probably be more freespecs given out as gifts. Some can use the gifts while some can't. That's the way it goes.
Knowing that the wipe is coming, why not try to experiment with dangerous stuff: Soloing AVs, playing at the highest difficulty level, see how many bosses you can herd. With the debt wipe coming, there'll be no lasting penalty. Go crazy.

The debt badges only accrue for debt paid off and no, the debt wipe won't count toward that. While we understand that some may not like to have their debt to be wiped, our feeling is that well, it's not too hard to bounce into some bad guys and take a fall to get it back.
Hopefully this isn't too much of an inconvenience for anyone.

Hmm... going to have to pad out the SG then over the next few weeks. One time grant thing was unexpected.
LH, I assume that means, it's not taken back if the person leaves the SG?
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
I'm sure I can come up with some hilarious ways to faceplant..Hamidon Dance party, re-enactment of the last battle for Eden, etc. Hmmm..Think I should organize a few things?

Debt is pretty easy to get. You can hit the debt cap in just a few minutes in high level zones. I'm sure the Storm Palace will be happy to meet all your debt need in a timely fashion.

Just to be really clear - that means your debt is going to get wiped over the maintenance run on the morning of Dec 10th, right? Go crazy on Sunday the 9th, not on Monday the 10th.

Brilliant, let's. I suggest a contest of some sort. Maybe a Monster Island Marathon - race around the island without toggles?
Also, agree with Lighthouse - if you want debt for a badge, it's not that hard. Turn off your toggles, run into the RWZ, and put your cat on the keyboard with a blindfold on while you grab a drink.

I assume we get the prestige based on who's on the roster? I have a bunch of members who haven't been on in hundreds of days, and I know a few of their accounts are not active. We still get credit for those (and trial accounts that never sub'd), right?

As long as they are on your roster, you should get the credit.

As was included in the recent communication, A New Age, announcing the acquisition of the City of Heroes franchise from Cryptic Studios by NCsoft, there is an upcoming character Debt Wipe and Supergroup Prestige Grant.
When: December 10th, 2007
Prestige Grant
Supergroups will receive an additional 20,000 Prestige per Supergroup member on Dec. 10th! This means SGs could acquire up to 3 million Prestige based upon their Supergroup membership roster! This is a one time grant, based strictly on the number of people in the Supergroup at the time the grant is done.
Debt Wipe
ItÂ’s time to get crazy! We will be clearing out any accrued debt that characters have on Dec. 10th! So, get out and find some spectacular ways to take a faceplant! Organize some chaos events and generally have some fun, knowing that any debt you have will disappear on Dec. 10th!
