Discussion: Dec. 10th Prestige Grant & Debt Wipe
Our SG didn't get the prestige either.
Can confirm that the debt wipe is working.
Logged in this morning (post maintainence) to find 2 alts, one on Triumph and one on Pinnacle both still with the debt I left on them last night.
Checked on them again just now and both are debt free.

}
}
$characterdata["currentdebt"] = $currentdebt;
update_characterdata($characterdata);

I'm at work so I can't check this, but for the prestige bonus, does each member get 20k added to their total, or is there just a big bump in the total prestige? (not that it really matters how, just curious )
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
The group prestige total is the only one increased.
The prestige total in the SG roster still shows what the character actually earned through play (similar I suppose to how the first free 20k you get for people up to 15 members isn't assigned to those members).

That's rather the point. The former is why the update is taking so long.

Along those lines, my all time favorite is still:
main() { printf(&unix["\021%six\012\0"],(unix)["have"]+"fun"-0x60);}
I doubt if these days one programmer in ten thousand can actually explain what this does.

It didn't do that back in 1987, when K&R was the law of the land. You'd need to turn off ansi compliance, and compile on a unix system, if you want to actually compile this thing instead of attempting to figure out what it does.

Or #define unix 1
It simply prints unix to the screen. Basically, (unix)["have"]+"fun"-0x60 = "un". &unix["\021%six\012\0"] is "%six\n", which is the first argument of the printf statement.

It does basically print "unix" but that's not technically an explanation.

(unix)["have"] = (1)["have"] = 'a' = 0x61
0x61 + "fun" - 0x60 = "fun" + (0x61 - 0x60) = "fun" + 1 = "un"
&unix["\021%six\012\0"] = &(1)["\021%six\012\0"] = "%six\012\0" = %six\n
Note that &(1)["abcde"] is equivalent to
char *c = "abcde";
c++; // c == "bcde" at this point...

Not only does it make no freaking sence what so ever but it's allso off topic.
We now return you to your regularly schedualed topic... we hope.
No prestige on three seperate SG's. Haven't checked the ones redside.

With this morning's maintenance, we had intended to run the prestige grant and debt wipe on the Training Room Test Servers. However, it looks like some villains snuck in and crossed a few wires and it was applied to all the live servers.
Oh well! We hope you all enjoy the added bonus!

I'm assuming that we get a [u]second[u] Prestige grant and debt wipe? Is this correct?
I don't care too much about the debt wipe, but a double Prestige grant? If this is true, then that is sweet!
I was building a new base last night and ran out of prestige, still lacking a lot of the stuff I wanted.

Yup it's true, already got mine...
I do feel bad, though, because some folks already booted their extras. They'll still get some, but not twice like others. Ah well, it's a silly oops of a gift, I don't see why anyone'd complain about a second freebie. (hopes. I hopes.)

Thanks! Yeah, someone will always complain, even though there is absolutely nothing to complain about here. An unexpected freebie!
Thanks, Devs! A nice little suprise gift! This will let me outfit my new base on Protector!

We got prestige but we didn't get the debt wipe...Can a Red Name please comment, and only for the previous reason that all my toons have debt and I don't want to start working it off if we are gonna get the debt wipe today as promised.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Debt Wipe is ongoing and should be finished up soon, as I posted here! Our apologies for any confusion.
