    To all of you...

I accept and proclaim complete responsibility for the "shuttering" City of Heroes francise.

I did not collapse an empire of super-heroes and/or super-villains out of spite or malice.

I did not think my actions of May 2012 would have any repercussions into this world that has provided me with the respite from my daily life.

It is something that happened due to a failure of an adjunct tertiary symbiosis of a non-connected organism.

The cascade failure was not anticipated or projected, as the parts were connected only in the vaguest sense.

If I had done the documentation better and more thorough, I might have anticipated this accordion collapse.

    I did not.

And for that; I am sorry that these worlds must come to an end. The failures are systemic, systematic, and cascading. It can not be stopped without some "divine intervention".

I would like to believe in miracles, and hope one happens, but we must be realistic about this situation.

To the friends, family, lovers and n00Bs... I am sorry.

I will see you on the other side.
  2. After 7 (plus) years, I am at the point when I have accept that my hands can no longer play as often as I want.

I have had 2 accounts with CoH for 6 (plus) years, but I have to let them go.

Not both. I will keep my main (original) account active, and may even come back into game occasionally...

But not as often as I would want.

I have made many friends here, and have carried some over to other venues (FB/Twitter/Gmail/Real life). I have seen them mature, wed, cry, and even surprise themselves.

I have seen the community grow, wane, regrow, and also be continuous.

I am not so much as leaving, but... grabbing a nice chair on the porch.

I will watch as a younger generation become the leaders, as they should.

(Why are my eyes misting over?)

    I am not leaving.

I am letting others mature into this environment that I basically grew up in.

Isn't that what we are supposed to do: make a world better for those that follow us?

    As always:

    Be safe
    Have fun

    "Go. Hunt. Kill Skulls."

    Quick update

Still really hard to type (basically doing this one handed - no funny stuff)

    Lots of payroll issues.

And lots of personal stuff went south (Hope T didn't get hit with the slide)

    Still alive.

    Checking when I can.
  6. The ones that gave their lives for you.

    They are:

The policeman that stopped a car for not obeying a stop sign. Turns out it was a stolen car used in a robbery, but the policeman only saw it as a car that did not stop at a stop sign. He would have found out about it being stolen when he was back in his patrol car and did a check on the driver's license and car plates, but he did not want to assume.

The firefighter that fell through the roof of your neighbor's house, because he was up there to get the tree limbs out of the way because another house was having smoke come out of it's attic and the only clear way into it was from three houses over because the owner kept saying "it is not my house and it is not your concern".

The Coast Guard seaman, who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, because...

To the members of our allies' military, who stepped in when our Congress said: "We have spent to much".

To the wives, husbands, daughters, sons, brothers, and sisters, of everyone who has said: "I am here to protect you", with their last breath.

    Thank you.
  7. And, yes....

    I am officially an ******.
  8. of genius.

Okay..posting from an iPhone is wrong.....not enough space.
  9. ty. ty, ty.

I thought of a very nasty trick to play on this forum...so when you see a subject that is from me that contains the words "I had", play along.
  10. Haven't been able to check the forums/announcements for a bit...but

    Has anyone said which hotel?

    Or where?

I have the time reserved, but need to make "the reservations".

  12. I'm driving out this time.

    I've had it with TSA.

I'll spend two leisure days driving out, taking in the road sights and attractions. Listening to my own music (iPod) or Sirius/XM and eating full meals.

I will be relaxed and rested come the Friday before, hoping that there is an informal M&G. Then I will have fun with all (if Hero1 does not mention anything about 'showering').

Then on Sunday afternoon, I will blitz drive back so I will be back at work on Wednesday.

    But I like driving.

    And, I like these meetings.

    But I'm weird.

    This is goodbye

    This is hello

    This is a comma; ,

    This is a period; .

    This is a "Hello".

    This is a "Good-bye".

This has been a test of the "OMGWTF broadcast system". If this has been an actual "OMGWTF" moment, you would still be sitting in your chairs asking yourself: "Did I just get punked".

    Well....we'll see.
  14. Before "Freedom", I went to three of these.

#1: They are held close to the studio home base because they as staff are not paid to be away from work as often as we think.

#2: Those that were held away from the home base, were sponsored by NCSoft in conjunction with a major gather in which NCSoft could have a large presence. Adding Meet & Greets was very limited AND selective.

#3: The people of Paragon Studios not only have a job making this game great and awesome, they have commitments to keep the game great and awesome. At the 2nd grouping, Positron was on the microphone to us as the player base and told the studio to turn on the Halloween Event early. (You should have seen the mad rush to the gaming area they set up for the weekend and were in the process of closing down when he did that).

#4: Paragon Studio provides a paid service. A well written and choreographed in game experience for which 90% of us just lust over, but they do not control the expenditures outside of the game. They have bosses that want them to work harder and longer at getting more people into the game. It is only through their hard work at keeping the game awesome that the publisher says "okay, you can do this but you can't go far". It is called a leash. Or, in other words, a job.

But when they are with us, talking one-on-one with them, that we realize that not only do they love what they are doing, that they would love to spend more time with us in a one-on-one basis.

But they can't spend that time. Because they love keeping it awesome.

So they stay close to their home base.

Myself? If they keep it awesome, I will come out to them. Just as I come to them every time I log in and play.
  15. As I mentioned to Samuraiko, I'll be there if they have to ship my dead bloated carcass to it.

  17. Stupid keyboard added more 0 than I wanted.
  18. There are three basic types of people in the world.

Those that can. Those that do. And those that can do.

This Friday, the 11th of November, we are reminded of the people that said "can do".

They are your grandfather. They are you mother. They are your brother/sister/cousin/aunt/uncle.

They, are the ones that said "I can do"., They stepped up, and joined something to protect you, your family, their family, themselves.

This Friday, the 11th of November 2011, remember that someone, somewhere, some-how...decided that your life is worth more than than theirs and the only way they could be equaled....

Was to be more than themselves.

Sorry... not good enough, not damn good enough.

The *BEST* thing about the issue release, was the pre-download.

    What about our Macintosh clients?

    No.

This is a major change, one that should have been announced WAY before the issue goes live.

    This is a "Cryptic" release.

I guess Jack is not dead.

    issue20 tuesday?

Am I the only person wondering: "Why is there no pre-download?"

I have the PC and Mac client. I have repeatedly, since the March Producers Newsletter, have logged in via my Macintosh client and have received no pre-download.

I have gone back to the old PC client login, and have received no pre-download.

The NCSoft Launcher, which they want us to move to, has shown no sign of an update.

So, I am going to guess: Once the live servers come up we are going to be subject to a 20-90 minute download (depending on ISP speed) of the new content.

The pre-download was the best thing about new issues. Download the "pre" after quitting (like logout and going to sleep) and then when the Issue goes live you have a 20 to 100 "Megabyte" fix.

I fully expect an 800 MB to 1 GB download before I can even get into Issue 20.

    Devs, prove me wrong.
  21. #1: Log into Facebook
    #2: Check events
#3: Wish Sooner a Happy Birthday

No, those were not on my bucket list, because I plan on being around longing than her.

    Happy Birthday
