Please please pleeease tell me that this is a test run for an upcoming feature involving disguises and costumes such as these as craftable temporary powers. They are awesome for roleplaying but since we know they are just temporary (and we will all be too busy finding them to actually have any time using them socially) we won' be able to use them for that purpose. So make sure the temp costume powers come back as recipes in a future issue for those of us who want to be able to roleplay npcs properly. Thanks!

Oh and the event is a lot more fun this year thanks to the costumes as well - so many different kind of treats is awesome.

but why not one Arachnos costume?

[/ QUOTE ]

Because you can get one through Agent G's arc in Faultline, and since issue 11 will have Flashback, chances are you'll be able to get THAT costume whenever you want.

[/ QUOTE ]

Villains aren't allowed in Faultline. Even though arachnos apparantly is. Odd.

The minions that spawn around Eochai, I think, need to be levelless like the Rikti invasion foes. They seem to appear based on the level of the individual that first comes close enough to see the GM, which was a bit of a problem as a Level 50 was wandering around Brickstown picking off all the Unseelie Court spawns and leaving without helping to defeat Eochai and his level 50 Fir Bolg.

I'm fairly certain the game is using telepathy to divine which costume I want the most for a character and saving it for last.

Honestly, I would hope that they make all of the spawns like that next year. Allowing us to Trick or Treat in zones regardless of level would really help lower the congestion in the high level zones and prevent the the occasional problem of some one at the high end of the zones' level running up and clicking a door and running off, leaving the resulting mob to kill the lower level characters by the door.

Ostentatious is spelled wrong in game right now. It is currently spelled "ostentaious", missing the 3rd t.

I only know this because I spent twenty minutes trying to verify it on Cityinfoterminal.com.

<edit> It's also curious that you chose a rather non flattering word for heroes and villains to describe themselves as. :P

I like the costumes, but again the mechanics of getting them are less than fun.

Please consider getting missions involved somehow. This stand click, wait, wait, click gets old fast.

I suppose it depends on what you're looking for. Yeah, just getting the costumes themselves is a pain... but the event over all is fun if you are in a large team to minimize waiting between spawns. A little trading in the team doesn't make the costume slot salvage that terribly bad either.

Not so much, running on a full team of 8 doing several doors in an area, and still the usual summon was an LT + minion, or 3 minions who basically dont get out of the door alive.

There is no challenge to this level of spawn for a big team.

As for trading the costume salvage ? well out coalition still had plenty left from last year. Every character of mine who wanted it had an extra slot already.

Instances with normally scaling mobs would be much more fun to me.

I like it especially for my lowbies (pre-travel especially) - the mobs are manageable and have a bit of variety, I don't have to travel across a zone, and I get nice rewards - those inspirations are verra verra nice for the pre-14 crowd.

I also like to wear costumes of low-level mobs on high level characters - it amuses me to see a PPD cop break out a tier 9 power

If it bothers you that much Acro make your own art and ask BaB or Posi to peek at it.

I'll take a crack at that.

Costume Badges:

Gold Coat Hanger, Gold Trim

10 Costumes- White Background
25 Costumes- Blue Background
50 Costumes- Black background.

[/ QUOTE ]

...

[u]Heroes:[u] Rectangular accolade-style badge; a circle containing a white hangar on a blue background; blue ribbon "wings" protrude from both sides (to fill out the rectangular format). All borders, etc, are white.

[u]Villains:[u] Rectangular accolade-style badge; a circle containing a white hangar on a red background; red ribbon "wings" protrude from both sides (to fill out the rectangular format). All borders, etc, are white.

[u]For both:[u]
10 costumes - As described
25 costumes - One silver star added to each "wing"
50 costumes - Two gold stars added to each "wing"

.... as a matter of fact, sad sorry MS-Paint art though it is, here ... THIS is what I'm trying to describe, here.

Also, the event is very streaky - I tend to get 2-3 costumes in a row, 3-4 tricks in a row (I think my max was 5 consecutive tricks), etc.

I wish there was a Warwolf and Vampire costume They would have been the perfect thing for Haloween..

Then again, I would have been terribly dissapointed to lose the werewolf costume with my Warwolf character on Virtue.

Halloween is my favorite holiday, and the Halloween event has always been my favorite. But can I humbly request that for next year, we do something different? Or at least have different spawns at the doors?

Also, the new costume badges are a grindfest. And they don't even have graphics. Did you all test this nearly a month ago? And in a month, you couldn't find the time to put a pumpkin or something on the badge?

1) I love the temporary item costumes!

2) The big inspirations are cool

3) The door timers need to be shortened please. Most of us have tons of characters we want to get badges for.

The costumes are just freaking wicked fun....

Gold Bricker
PPD Hardsuit (w/ Red Flaming Jet Boots)

....and of course the Ghost Pirate, who when he flies has like a zombie flight pose to him

And if you go to the ID screen it's a picture of whoever you're imprersonating which I thought was cool

It's fun as usual but :

1. as with all events there are fun killers. It would be nice if gignore ignored all characters on an account for us.

2. new critters or at least new groupings for next year would be fun.

3. the inspiration drop rate is way too high (dodges multiple arrows from angry forumites). Please lower it to somewhere between the costume temp powers and the costume salvage drop rates this year. I am filling up my bins too quickly with them.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

I bought a 2nd insp bin. It is almost loaded. Thinking of a 3rd. it will last me and my toonsies for awhile!

sell them at WW/Black Market, you'd be surprised at some of the prices you can get from tier-2s and tier-3s

-Glad the ToT villains list as "mystical" so that the invention salvage drops are the more valuable ones like Hamidon goo, Pangean soil, Prophecy, etc. While door-farming isn't terribly dynamic, at this point, I'd rather do that than run X number of mystic villain missions in PI for the same drops (actually got two Prophecy drops in one hour last night just door hunting).

-seems like the costume salvage drops were adjusted to more frequent. Last year I ended up with wildly out of proportion costume salvage ratios (12 Statesman masks...to 1 Hamidon), this year I've already got 4 complete sets of costume salvage in 4 hours work).

-Like the higher end inspirations as always.

-costume power drops are quick. I spent about 4 hours total yesterday in FBZ (PI was a nightmare) and got 30 of the 33 costumes and all 3 badges.

I appreciate the event and the mini-content. It's nice to have something different to do in-between full issues. And I always enjoy seeing all the level 50s I leveled up with come out of the mothballs to collect the new badges.

I would have liked to have an in-game timer on the costumes though, even if it was a short period of time. Fifteen minutes of in-game time would have been much better to me than 15 days of real time.

My only other criticism is that it becomes mind-numbingly tedious to get the 3rd badge and all 33 costumes. I realize that no one is forced to that, but some of us are a bit obsessive compulsive about badges and keeping up with the Joneses.

Arcanaville or one of the other math mavens can correct me or flesh out the details, but it seems to me that the more costumes you have, the more likely you are to get a repeat costume and the less likely you are to get the last remaining costume to complete the set of 33.

That means that I have to click perhaps hundreds more doors to get the 33rd costume than I did to get my first costume. By the time I get there, I think my first costume will have expired and I will despise all halloweenish things. I know many will disagree with me, but I think less costumes may have been better.
