  1. When are you planning on being in game?
  2. And now we have proof!

Sorry I missed it, but thanks to the pictures and chatlogs I almost feel like I was there.

    Arcanaville:

Thanks for all the words and numbers you posted over the years.

I did not always understand them at first. But you made me think and grow in the attempt to understand them.

May your spreadsheets be orderly and error-free.
  4. Happy belated birthday. Blow out the candles and make a wish!
  5. If Rangle Plots do not exist, how was anyone able to trademark "Rangle Plots"? If the United States government recognizes Rangle Plots, then who am I to disagree?
  6. Still here, though I haven't been playing as much as I used to.
  7. Truly awesome, TA. Thanks for including me and so many familiar names and faces.
  8. Thanks for all the blood, sweat, and motor oil you poured into this game over the years.

I hope you are able to find meaningful, fun, and profitable work.
  9. I wonder what an Alpha Wolf eats on his birthday. Meat Cake?

    Happy birthday!
  10. Let me add another theory to the pot: we have less to talk about.

There is no feedback or theorycraft to provide on new arcs, powers, bugs, balance issues and the like.

I suppose we could continue to argue how far apart ice blast and dual pistols are in relation to other blast sets, or whether it's fair for your brute to be sturdier than my tank, or whether you can make more profit convert purples or flipping them, or critiquing the finer points of designing costumes with new pieces, etc.

But since there is no one left to make any changes we propose, we are left with arguing about the best method to save the game, or if it is even possible to save the game, or what new game we should scurry to as refugees.
  11. Most people listed the usual suspects above, but let me add a nod to the Kheldian PPD squad.

They have taken me by surprise several times. They have tons of negative defense and if you get hit by the negative defense at range and then walk in to a punch of photon seekers you quickly find yourself laying on the ground wondering WTF just happened?
  12. I have no data or source other than I myself. I have had my main account continuously active since September 2004. I bought a second account sometime after the Good vs. Evil box came out but cancelled it twice.

The first time I cancelled was right after the MA came out, but it wasn't specifically due to the MA or power-leveling. Rather, it was the Dev's heavy handed response and subsequent forum suppression. Since I wasn't permitted to complain about how it was handled on the forums, I cancelled the account.

If I recall correctly, I had several friends who responded similarly. Either they took a break, cancelled one or more accounts, or left altogether. But that was not unique -- the dev response to MA, ED, I13 PvP, Itrials, Freedom, burnout, and a whole host of other grievances large and small have led some of my friends to quit the game. Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't.

Even my second account came back. I activated back up about a year later after Zwillinger took over as community rep and they introduced incarnate stuff, starting with Alpha. But then I had to cancel again after I lost my job and started my own business.

So, in response to the OP, I think the fall in profits in mid '09 was death by a thousand cuts. Some of it was MA (or the dev's reaction), some economy, some PvP rage, and a bunch of other reasons.
  13. Sorry I couldn't make it. Out of town visiting family this weekend.

  15. Uber, I have played with you for many years. We started out having lots of friends in common on Justice and then outlasted those friends. I think that both of us preferred to follow than lead; to be the trusted lieutenants and let others be the boss.

So please believe me when I tell you how much I appreciate you taking this bull by the horns and organizing many, many runs of these trials so that I and others can get these badges.

    Thanks, UberDude.

I get it, a RMT seller can buy a $10 item worth a billion influence, sell it on the market and then try to sell that influence for more than $10 (let's say $12) and make a profit.

Except *any player* can _also_ take the $10, buy the item, and sell it for a billion influence. Why would a person spend $12 for a billion inf from a RMT, when they can spend the same $10 in the legit game store and get a billion inf that way?

(Yes, prices fluctuate and it's conceivable that the RMTers could buy items when they're at low prices and sell them when they're high. But knowing this game, chances are there's some item that would always be at the 2 billion cap and it would become the reference price for everyone, because it just can't get any higher.)
Unfortunately, I think that the answer is that there are many lazy and stupid people. I and certainly don't mean to imply you, Arcanaville, or anyone in else in this thread fall into either category.

  19. Yeah, I had the same problem trying to log in. I feared that "someone" may have pulled the plug early just to shut us up. I'm glad that wasn't the case.

  22. I don't remember if it was GM_Lloyd or someone else. But I distinctly remember seeing a GM at an old school hammy raid on Justice as a Banished Pantheon Zombie, just chillin' at the edge of the bowl.

If memory serves me, there used to be a lot of complaints about people griefing the raids by pulling in monsters, so this GM was there proactively to either prevent it from happening or catch them in the act.
  23. I must have logged out before you logged in. Tenjoy, myself and a few others were looking for you, Alpha.
