    Social Rules:

Always love the ladies, insult the riffraff, mock the animorphs, and tip the bartender in rare salvage worth a min of 1 mil a piece. Never indulge the children in textfights nor duels. Live by your characters values when in character. Never use RP as an excuse to be a perv or a rude curse spewing social deviant.
*adds to never team list* Never joining your teams, appreciate the warning.
  2. Depends.

When I came back after a 3 year hiatus I peered at one of my teen characters bio's and thought 'he's been gone ages, I think I will add 3 years to this bio and rewrite it a bit'. Since it made it a little more interesting to do so. For the most part though I guess I go for the typical comic book trope of only when the plot demands. I guess the 'away for a while' kinda falls into that too. Comic book characters do get a bit of a redesign when they take a break from the comics, and are often a bit older when they come back.

    This.

Nothing kills the higher end game for me on AT's other than tank/brute/stalk/scrap more than spending a bunch of my time dazed/held/immobed/kbed (at least the latter who have an easy to gain protection worth a dang)

Yes I know about BF's, but you cant spend the entire game under a BF effect, you run out eventually.
  4. I approve.

I would love for my (non fire melee) melee dragonman to have breath of fire. (yes, I didn't choose fire melee since I only envision him being able to breathe fire, not create it round his claws/get a fire sword from nowhere)

I recall making a thread like this a very long time ago.
  5. -Fighting
    Pain Tolerance: +20% maxHP

Way too much. I would say 7.5% (enhanceable)

    -Concealment
    Diversion: ST foe placate

Too little. I would go for a PBAOE

    -Leadership
    Enduring Presence: +5% maxEND

Already elsewhere and too little. I would go for

Motivation: Team 10% endurance discount (enhanceable)

Keeps it in line with the rest of the set.

    -Presence
    Insulting presence: PBAoE taunt aura

Not bad, but useless for anyone who might want to takee it (tanky types)

I would go for a PBAoE fear pulse.

    -Medicine
Combat medic: Auto interrupt reduction (large) for Medicine pool powers

I would go for a toggle minor team heal PBAoE myself.
  6. I think regen does need some love.

    My thoughts:

    * It needs more resistance vs -regen effects
    * It needs a little scaling damage resistance as your health goes down (like SR) to help survive massive alphas.
    * Revive needs to be worthwhile. In keeping with regen it should provide a temporary large regen +recovery effect and some strong damage resistance
    * It needs good resistance vs -recharge
    * I think it needs some resistance to -recovery

Congrats, now you can take *counts* seven breathers.

I like DfB since it lets me jump into the game and have a quick team and game to play with that doesn't require a lot of waiting to get in to. I can and have sat LFG for hours before with no response and not enough people to form a tea with. I can also count the number of power levels I have gotten in on one hand since I joined in 2004.

Honestly I both like and hate DfB. I like how its great for getting the first bunch of powers and to get past the early boring pre-20 stuff but I also hate how good the XP is compared to running normal team content, even in the late 30's and 40's. I think that they could stand to look at normal mission rewards again to make it competitive, since honestly I don't think that in essence DfB is a bad thing.. its just quick and easy teaming/xp that doesnt require a lot of waiting around and good for meeting new friends on a new character, which is nice.

I think they could also stand to put in a bunch more content like it, with no level restrictions using the auto exemp/level buff to tell some decent stories.
  8. The danger of a nuke is not just the detonation and explosion.

There is also the fallout and the whole 'everyone is a loser' instant reaction. Additionally, if one goes off even most supers cannot do anything about it or survive it. And whose to say they can stop it? Few heroes can stop it. And there's a lot of trial and error involved.

Nukes are not nothing just because a guy has a robot that can fire lasers or whatever.
  9. I really like the idea, used to request it back n the day.
  10. I vote that all characters cannot wear helmets till level 40 as a sign of respect.

    ... Wait!
  11. I don't see why the villains don't get their own victories.

It doesn't need to be 'omg I will blow up teh worldz!'

It could be other villainous things. They could orchestrate some grand theft and get a satisfying 'while the heroes were taking in Mr.Bad, you snuck into his vault and made off with his gold. This stuff is going to make you seriously rich' or whatever. Villany isn't always about blowing up the world, its about personal profit and everything between.
  12. I'll be very surprised if a non-generic tights+cape wins this. I mean, trends aside they need to fill their flying brick character role.
  13. Probably energy aura.

Every time I nearly try a toon with it, I look at the numbers on its defences, shake my head and go for something else.

[edit] I have been informed EA has been changed since I last played it so I will look in to it again.

Unstoppable with just a single slot caps physcal resistance to 90% and and damn near caps everything else to 89.7% That's a HUGE jump in performance, especially when fighting things with powerful Energy or Fire damage. When fighting, say, Nightstar, Unstoppable is the difference between life and death.
Thats actually a very good point. The power is good on Brutes, but falls short on tankers. I have just never taken an inv brute up very high before.

I wonder if it would be possible to have the power work differently between archtypes?

I mean, there's code to check for origin on the inherents, is there similar code to check for archtype?

    Quote:
Moreover, while physical resistance for Invulnerability is high, foes with very heavy physical damage are still dangerous, and Unstoppable represents a reprieve.
Huh? Inv caps physical damage at 90 very easily with tough. It doesn't do anything to reprieve other than the rec boost. Unless you're talking about your brute, at which point yeah.

However resistance is only one side of the invuln coin, it also gets huge defence. With that defence, resistances less stellar numbers on energy represent less of a hole.

I wonder if damage could be lowered by a specific amount? i.e unstop lowers hit damage against you by a number dependent on your level.

As for Elude, I was wondering if it could be coded to be something of a semi-offensive click, as in every attack you dodge you get a stacking recharge, damage and to-hit buff of 1% that caps at say, 50%.

Anyway, just idea bouncing and trying to keep this on the front page since I think it really does deserve more discussion.
  15. Honestly I think some of them do need looking in to.

I never take unstop on my invuln tankers, I never take elude on my SR scrappers. Etc.
  16. So what I got from this...

Nobody is very useful or desired, and you hate tankers.

    Flying.

    Sharks.

    That is all.
  18. I was thinking about this today.

I would really like to see more resistance based set bonuses.
  19. I would swap out Buildup. Buildup is nice, but it is not nessacary for you.

Additionally, Unstoppable can also be skipped.
  20. You are enhanced with SO's/IO's, right?

I know it seems a stupid question, but these days, I run into more and more folk who think that they 'only need to enhance at 47' playing Khelds...

IE, your player model and costume wouldn't go away, there would just be a new set of 'Granite' armor pieces overlaid.

I haven't made any decision to do this, it's just one of the options for dealing with the multiple issues we have with Granite Armor and I wanted to get a sense of how many of you guys wouldn't be able to adapt to a change like this.

Before anyone asks, no...we couldn't have it both ways.
I have never rolled a stone armor character, and never will, all because I do not like how my costume is covered up.

So.. I guess that's my answer.
