Martial Arts for blasters
Mostly just because the developers haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe in a future round of proliferation. It is a commonly requested power set and they are definitely aware of the demand for it. Part of it wouldn't be hard: take some of the powers from that and/or street justice, mix/match and adjust the numbers for balance and you got a lot of the power set.
However for blaster secondaries aren't JUST melee; they are a mixture of melee AND control AND a usually little bit of self-buff, which this set would also need to be. The trickiest part of it is to figure out what control and buff powers to put in with them. Off the top of my head I can't think of any existing powers that would go well with martial arts thematically and I'd imagine it would be hard to make a set that works for everyone with that in mind. It could also mean NEW powers being made, which takes it out of proliferation range as well and requires more work to do.
Its not impossible, just will require some work and hope that they can find a combo of powers that aren't overpowered and will make a lot of people happy with.
I would totally play a Throwing Star blast set along with Martial Arts.
We already have Genins. They just need to expand some throwing star blasts.
In fact, they can easily come up an "Natural" Assault set for Dominator that has a mix of throwing stars / martial arts. :P
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

I'd love to see something along these lines, mixing Martial Arts with a bit of Ninjutsu-
1: Shadow Stitch Pins the target's shadow to the ground with a thrown dagger, preventing them from moving. Standard Blaster Secondary Immobilize, without damage. Solid -Fly, -KB (If possible, have it deal minor Lethal damage only on a *miss* - i.e. hitting the foe instead of their shadow.) 2: Storm Kick Simple copy. Very good melee attack. 4: Cobra Strike More of the same. A single-target melee focused set, after all. 10: Caltrops Yup, here too, just like in Devices. 16: Focus Chi Build Up. 20: Dragon Tail A bit of AoE is always nice. 28: Blinding Powder Copied from Stalker, safety move. 35: Eagle's Claw Getting their final melee attack a bit early... 38: Kuji-In Retsu Wait, what? A God Mode in a Blaster secondary set? They get Drain Psyche, so I wouldn't call it a huge stretch. Scaled down duration and recharge compared to the Stalker version, perhaps 60/360 or 30/180 instead of 180/1000.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
For extra goodness, spend some extra time so it doesn't force redraw with dual pistols
For even more extra goodness... give it a sticky hands power (parry-esque, smashing/melee defence buff)
yes it'll be pretty low on blaster mods, but it'd still rock.

id love to see this.. so I can watch baster get punched in the face a lot... and then complain that the set sucks because they die too much..
Id like to see more sets that help the blaster you know actually BLAST better..

What I would really like for it is to avoid redraw with Assault Rifle, Dual Pistols, Archery, and Beam Rifle. This means the martial arts part of it is generally kicking stuff OR smacking enemy with held weapon (or fist if weapon isn't currently drawn). But this would involve a ton of animation work, haha.
My ideas would be to meld Street Justice and Martial Arts together for the secondary... although alternate animations could always work as well...

Eagles Claw should be relegated to the Tier9 spot, and Tier8 would be Smoke Flash... a power that will actually be useful to a squishie like a Blaster.

What I'd really like is for a red name to come out and say - Yes, we do actually take some of your ideas and tweak them to fit. Otherwise, this all seems a little pointless.
I know they read them from time to time. What I don't know is if they ever actually implement an idea from the playerbase. (with changes for balance and what not)

No, not as a primary!
How come there isn't MA secondary for blasters? It seems like it would be great for a concept Duel Pistols character, or even something to go with Archery and Assault Rifle.
I know it would need some serious utility tweaks but it would really be great to have another "natural" secondary.
