RG: Removing the ‘evil goatee’ aspect of Praetoria made it a more compelling story, I think. That said, I really wanted to make a Primal Reese, and have him be a mild-mannered and very polite civilian in Paragon City.
Huh! And you know what I thought instantly on seeing that? That Matthew Habashy, your first new Atlas Park contact in the new mission content for Freedom would have been PERFECT for that. Since Reese is your first contact in the tutorial for Praetoria.

I'd be surprised if no one else thought of that. I'm guessing it wasn't done that way because of the unwillingness to make everything a 'mirror' of everything else.

Someone should make this Loregasm thread sticky.

But apparently I've missed this or haven't played through the content that contains it yet. So my question is -

What rocket launch pads? The only one I can recall is in Warburg.

I have a feeling I'm going to feel stupid when someone tells me the answer to this.
There's a construction area in the NE corner of Steel. In the paper map released with one of the box sets, it talked about a rocket base.

Seconded!

And thanks, guys. Couldn't have been easy spilling the beans like this.

... Must've been at least a little fun, though. Come on, admit it. Telling the whole story right away, without having to wait months or years to tell a little piece at a time? I'm sure the developer in you guys was and but the storyteller in you must've been all

That's a pretty exhaustive set of answers on lore. Thanks for putting the doc together, Positron!

And for keeping a small ember of hope burning for the game, too.

*laughs* This is a great example of why I like to read your posts, Samuraiko. You make me smile at your enthusiasm, even when it is overboard enthusiasm. *hug!*

And thank you very much for the lore, Positron. It's very appreciated that you and the team took the time to share!

/QFT and seconded.

Thanks Gang. Even if the worst happens, we still have the best Dev team in the industry.

I am hoping to see the game saved somehow so this is not a problem at all.

Hugo Figures and Agent Gally. Were they ever going to be successful in liberating the Bane Spider network? If not, what ultimately happens to them?

MM: What issue/storyline were they from?

Westin phipps arc in GV..JUST did it. It is a really sad and moving lil bit of story. Hugo is a guy who met Gally as a young man, and fell on love. Then arachnos latch onto him due to his psy powers, and he gets press ganged into the Banes. Due to his psy, he isn't under their thumb though, and starts convincing others that they can be something else. This is when Phipps sends your Villain to investigate, eventually killing Huge, and then Gally. Then the whole operation is shown to be under the lead of Manticore (the whole free bane operation). Its neat.

That's a link to the doc, in case these boards get shut down, and because I don't want to clean it up for our forum posting format (if someone ELSE does, feel free to pad your postcount).

Some answers are not satisfying. Some answers are made up, and that answer only exists in that doc. I tried to get everyone who was involved in the stuff at the end to answer the questions as best they could.

MM: Matt Miller (Positron)
JH: John Hegner (Protean)
JAH: Jeff Hamilton (Arbiter Hawk)
SM: Sean McCann (Dr. Aeon)
RG: Ryan Greene (Viridian)
TS: Tim Sweeney (Black Scorpion)

Thanks so much for stopping by....and for accidentally mentioning that it is still just a teeny bit possible for CoH to be saved.

Love ya!

Oh! Okay! That would explain a lot! I never got a box set after I bought City of Villains.

Though I did buy Going Rogue Complete Edition last week to re-activate my VIP status.

*rummages*

Nope, not marked on this map. They probably removed it before this edition came out. Pity.

The Scirocco story was incredible. I always enjoyed his patron arc the most, he had the most depth of probably any of the named NPCs, IMO. I really would have enjoyed playing that arc.

Neat stuff. Posi, just let me say that regardless of what anyone else thinks, I think the Lady Gray betrayal would've been keen.

I feel bad, the Shining Stars seem to be like the C-list whipping boys for when the villains need some butt monkeys to beat up on.

( Stage whispers:

They probably never went anywhere with it because "Hugo" and "Gally" are character name references to Battle Angel Alita/Gunnm, a manga by Yukita Kishiro, and the mission arc mirrors (vaguely) their relationship in the manga. And they could probably "get away with" a reference to that for a single mission arc, but planning anything major beyond that might be... problematic. Lawyer bait, y'know? )

Same here! My main/lead Villain (who made the morality arc-jump to full hero and is now on her way back full circle.) Really respected the HELL out of Scirocco. He and Ghost Widow are tied in my head for favorite redside signature characters.

And yeah - very disappointed not going to get to play that. ;_;

That's how I felt immediately, as well, but I don't think that way at all after reading it!

That question...

If its anything like the characters they are an homage to... its a bad end.

Oh BUGGER, they were introducing a way for heroes to get Patron powers without going villain! BAH.

The Blue Steel = Chuck Norris type gags were known around the office, and I had suggested we do a fight where the player is fighting Blue Steel, very hard fight. When he reaches 50% health, he stops, and says, “You think this shield protects me from the world. You’re wrong. It protects the world... from me.” At this point he drops the shield and does a build up animation that causes an explosion, effectively ending the fight as the entire area around him gets destroyed in a DBZ-esque manner.

Damnit, fellas!

*Goes to get paper towel for the Mountain Dew on the monitor. Again.*

I really wish I could've worked in the office with you guys. But I fear I would've had to invest in a monitor cover...

FYI, the map with the launch pads came packed with the Good vs Evil box.
