My Review of Tomorrow's Paragon Market Offering
Probably the standards of not charging people for buggy powersets on the market. It's technically a dumb thing to do.

Yeesh, take the tentacles that various dark powers use, they scale to foe size, if use on Lusca Tentacle they become gigantic sized and can be seen for quite some way off.
So you don't have a problem with that particular thing BUT you have problems with a scaling Hawk?
Badge Earned: Wing Clipper
A real showstopper!
I guess scaling hawks are too silly to hang with giant, snow-breathing wolves.
Being a male lion is a thankless job, and the only reward they get is great hair.

I've voiced my opinions on BM already, so I've already forgotten it exists and am looking forward to something I actually want.
Bring on Staff Fighting!!

Oh i did, but i figured it was Zwillinsidevoice yanking the chains of all the forumites who try to read deeper meanings into every detail of a redname post.

He's very clearly doing product placement/integration or subliminal advertising in his review...much like those shows where the actors drive off in a car and all of a sudden one starts explaining merits of gps, voiceactivated bluetooth and rear view camera.
This item [Beast Mastery powerset] has wolves in it which makes it intrinsically sweet and worth 800 Paragon Points by itself, but once I created a character [character slots], that's when the magic happened [magic costume pack]. After checking to ensure that the costume I created [extra costume slots] for my shiny new avatar would properly cover my girth [barbarian costume pack], I walked from the tutorial to Mercy Island and was immediately approached by cat-girls [animal costume pack]. The feline beauties knew from the wolves at my side that I, like a wolf [blackwolf vanity pet], am a mysterious loner who knows how to 'howl at the moon' from time to time (if you catch my drift!) [coyote travel power]. The cat-girls that approached me wanted to know if I would be their boyfriend [valentine pack] and/or give them infamy for something they called RP. I told them no, because they didn't have a compelling enough backstory [mission architect story slots], and frankly a man with a wolf-pack shouldn't settle for the first thing that comes to him.
I arrived at the trainer, turned on my Prestige Power Slide (walking is such a drag!) gliding side to side so that my wolves would show. While I was browsing training enhancements, I could hear the sound of spurred boots on the pavement behind me. I turned around to see a super powered dream in a rocking new Gunslinger Costume [gunslinger costume pack], pistols drawn [dual pistol powerset] standing there. She told me she liked the wolves at my side, I told her I wanted to be her sidekick. She offered me a swig from her Enricheā¢ [drinkenriche emote], and I hopped on the back of her Flying Carpet [flying carpet travel power] and flew into the rest of our lives. Thank you Paragon Market [buy now from the store]. |
Hmm...ok, maybe there's a slight chance you may be correct in your assessment Schismatrix.
Awww...I can't purchase it at midnight like other Tuesday releases....

So no one else noticed the oddly off-point mention of Prestige Power Slide?
|
1)Beast Mastery
2)Prestige Power Slide
Those two were obvious.
3)Female version of the previously male only Gunslinger pieces.
4)Heavyset/Fat character models.
These two were less obvious. Zwill mentioned making sure his costume on his shiny new avatar sufficiently covered his girth. Sounds like a reference to a heavyset character model to me.

Please tell me that the Beasts are quieter than Lassie, the Emo Wonder Dog (aarOOOOOOOOOOOO)?
Or is it going to be just like when Demons came out last year and the game is going to be a confusing, howling mess of noisy, rude Mastermind pets again (the Demons forced me to switch my Widow from a Night Widow to a Fort build just so I didn't have to be in melee range any more with them).
You might wanna avoid the area around Mrs. Liberty tomorrow then Carnifax...

I'm remarkably meh about Beast Mastery. Not because it isn't an interesting set, because it is. I've just never been able to play Masterminds (Mine is level 42, and I started him back when Thugs went live). So yeah, this weeks store item isn't useful to me, but that's fine because I'm sure others will enjoy it
I'd never use a nuke in a superhero universe. You nuke a city, you kill 1.5 million people minus one. The last guy not only gets superpowers from the explosion, but ones that let him survive a nuke...and wow, is he torqued off

Though I was pleasantly surprised int he last week when i could put the Baron jacket on my female Dark/Dark troller.
Yeah it's kinda nice not to have to rush out and buy something right away from the market. Though I'm sure being surrounded by wolves in DFB will make up for it.

Must look at this for my Darkity Time controller later for her second cossie, to complement her tux & steampunk look in the first.
Beast Mastery?
This gives me time to build up a buffer of points so that I can buy Staff Fighting when it hits. I have two characters waiting on it, although I'd rather like to have a medieval European spear (of the simplistic diamond-headed variety) as an option for one of them - BRODIN ALL-FATHER! A frat boy who found Gungnir, the spear of Odin, while out on a road trip with his frat, and in so doing learned that he acquired the god's powers. On learning this, he turned and spake thusly to his friends - "Odin All-Father? More like BRODIN All-Father, amirite?" And so, on that day, a new god was born. It is too bad, then, that this godling is a bit of a jerk
Also, totally haven't picked a secondary to go with it yet, I just felt that this character needed to be.

PPD Mastermind
Just a reminder for all the new Beast Mastery players to clean up after their pets. If the Thug Masterminds can clean up the beer cans their guys drop you can clean up after your wolves.
can you use this power while you're in the coyote travel form?
Your just pleased you don't have to pay everyone on Union Chat <Doctor Evil> One Hundred MILLION Inf! </Doctor Evil>
