  1. Come out and clear Atlas Park before the last Ship Raid.

Before Galaxy City blew up we held an event on Pinnacle to give the citizens of Galaxy City one crime free hour, an hour where every crime was stopped by a hero. We may not have succeeded, but we came close with almost a full league trying to clear the zone of crime for its citizens. Tomorrow night at 6pm est we will try the same thing for Atlas Park.

The People of Atlas Park were there to welcome me when I arrived as a hero long ago. The would chase after me to thank me, it kind of surprised and honored me at the time. Now as their long night approaches we want to pay them back as best I can. I know the number of heroes is falling everyday, but if we can do this we should.

One hour, crime free in Atlas Park. You can make a difference here and leave us with memories the citizens of Atlas Park walking about unthreatened and safe. Every hero counts, come make a difference. Heroes of any level or type welcome, meet in front of City Hall, 6pm Pinnacle server Sunday November 24th. Crime free Atlas Park.

    Thanks Pinnacle

I was raised in this game on Pinnacle and have been a fairly steady player for years. I am sure there are other great servers but I have to say the community on this server kept me here pretty much my whole time in the game. I made my first fifty here, I learned to do trials here and my son created and played all his heroes here since he was seven. He is fourteen now. There have been so many excellent people on this server that I could not list them all. I will miss the game, but I will really miss the mix of folks that have made this server the best gaming home I have ever had. The leaders, the followers, the organizers, the participants, the good friends and pickup groups and even the odd nut job made this server awesome. Thanks to everyone who made this server rock.

Yep, I always check in. If I had more time I would start spreadsheeting out which ones work and which ones don't. For instance the Ray Cooling one worked, despite being a badge arc. At this point I just put it down to the luck of the draw. It would be nice if there was a simple way to know, but there does not seem to be one so I will just keep at them. I am trying to get the whole set eventually, so I can always double back if I have to, but I would rather go through new content when I can.

Last night I ran the Wilcott Hollows arc with no travel powers after checking to make sure I did not have that badge already. To the best of my knowledge that is not a badge arc, and is not a single mission, but still did not award the no travel badge. I appreciate the oro ability to get badges and do not mind running missions, but I really wish I understood what was going on better. At the moment I seem to get the badges at random, and that is a bit frustrating. I will keep at it, but it is a bummer to walk all over the place and not get the badge.

Thanks guys, the stories I ran were not single missions, but I will keep hacking at it and see if I can figure out what I am doing wrong.

Is there some trick to getting Oro badges for running debuffed or with no travel powers? I have run a bunch of Oro missions lately and run a few with the debuffs on as part of the mission settings, but not gotten the badges at the end. Are there some missions that don't give the awards? I know the debuffs were on, for instance no travel powers was painful, but in the end I got bupkiss.

An easily failable task is one which always allows me to continue, but prevents me from retrying it. Considering MMOs lack the quicksave/quickload feature, that actually is a concern.

Suffice it to say that I don't want a repeat of Tina's old 10-minute mission.

I'm hoping it won't be as bad as I feat it might be, but anything people define as a "challenge" raises instant red flags for me.
You can fail this, but I am a pretty casual player and I have not failed it yet, even on my characters who do not solo well. I have died during it and used a self rez. I have emptied my inspiration tray and scrambled for to use temp powers I did not have in my trays. In short, it is very challenging for some of my characters but it feels great when I win and I had to really stretch to do it. It feels heroic. On my non-solo types I play this at +0/0 but with bosses on if that is any help. (There are levels when heading to 50 I turn bosses off, but by 50 I think the bosses need to be there, even for my squishies)
  8. I do it almost every time. It gives me time to set up my hotbars and chat channels, grab my character stuff from email and then gives me a quick mini-comic to play through. I enjoy it all the while fully aware of how on rails it is. The only time I will skip it is if I think my starting two powers will take too long to clear out the shivans before the boss shows up. Nothing worse than brawling shivans to death.
  9. Another benefit is that while forming trials in DA we can run around and punch stuff while we wait for people to trickle in or alt. This makes waiting for a trial to start much more enjoyable. I really enjoyed the DA story line and think it is a solid home run from the Devs. I haven't run the new lower level story arcs, hope to hit those soon, but if they are DA quality I am really looking forward to them.
  10. Just a reminder for all the new Beast Mastery players to clean up after their pets. If the Thug Masterminds can clean up the beer cans their guys drop you can clean up after your wolves.
  11. The easiest way to get on Trials on Pinnacle is via the PinnBadges chat channel. It is excellent and pretty busy on most evenings or weekends. However on Double XP weekend no one wanted trials, they were running task forces to level up alts. The exceptional trial is Death From Below, which even on Pinnacle seem to form by milling around Ms. Liberty until someone starts recruiting.
  12. How do enhancement boosters work on IOs that work on more than one ability, say a Damage/Recharge or a Damage/Accuracy/Recharge? +1 to each of the two or three for each booster? Also, I assume they do not effect procs such as global recharge or chance of extra damage, is that correct?
  13. No idea how it missed it originally, it was years ago. Claws and Effect does mention and I made a slot for it and have been using it. I am all respeced out, now just starting the process of getting all my sets done.
  14. Thanks, that is a ton of excellent info and a very firm ground for a rebuild. I started with this guy, and loved him to fifty, but it was a long time ago and I was intimidated on bringing him back to incarnate, now I have to dive back in and get him humming again!
  15. Ok, this was my my first character also my first 50 and I have decided to bring him back and get him incarnated up. I need help rebuilding:
    • I have some inf, but not enough for purples or pvp really.
    • I want to keep him a superspeeder, for old times sakes really but everything is up for grabs in the build.
    • I don't expect to make him a god, but I want him to be useful and survivable in Incarnate stuff.
    • Happy to have ideas on attack chains and defense as well, it has been years since I played him.

Thanks for any help you can give!

  16. Yes. I got my Dimensional Warder in the BAF for my tank.
  17. The city looks up to my character, the story of the city is my character's comic, not Statesman's. Statesman was an important NPC in my comic, but is there to build my story. My character tried their best to save him, but failed, where will that lead my character to next? Don't know yet, but looking forward to finding out.
  18. I know this is the forums and haters gotta hate, but I thought that Part 5 was excellent. Some tough fights that really had good comic book feel to them, a couple of fights left me hanging by a tiny hp string, which is how I love to walk away from a victory. The story was solid Wade is doing his crazy villain thing well, Statesman doesn't break his character, and dies with a solid ending. I have been enjoying the entire arc and am now really looking forward to six and seven. I am not saying you haters are wrong, I am into this but that doesn't mean you have to be, but I am really, really enjoying the SSA.
  19. When a contact gives you their cell number it is always the phone number for the express bus out of Paragon City.
  20. Thanks all. Just hit fifty and about to start a careful respec using Mids to help plan it out. Alpha is slotted Cardiac, going Clarion for Destiny and will see what I need from there. Time has been a challenging set, but I have really enjoyed it so far. Now to build it out to where the build does as well as it can on trials.

    Is "Gratz" dead?

The Death from Below trial is the only place I won't normally grats, they just come too often there. Otherwise unless I miss it in a fight I try to grats regularly. Just a small cheer for a player, not hard to do and makes folks smile.
  23. I am nearing 50 with my Time/Fire Defender and enjoying the character very much, but I am spending more time asleep or stunned than I have on any other character I have played. Great for getting the badges, but not so good on teams. What do you all recommend to build up my status effects protection?
  24. I would repeatedly buy the equivalent of a short term mastermind power. It could be sold in tiers, buy a couple of minions cheap, a couple of minions and a LT for a bit more or a couple with a boss for even more. They could be themed as Longbow or Arachnos depending on who is buying. This should be short term, maybe lasting three or four routine fights. I would use these on PCs when I needed just that extra push to get past a tough spot in a mission, I much prefer teaming in general, but sometimes there is no team to be found and just the right combo of bad guys are in a mission to beat up on me. Folks upstream have mentioned a summon a doppelganger* or the signature hero power, this could be less powerful and cheaper than that with much more fragile pets.

    * If the doppelganger power were to be used I would base it off of members of a character's supergroup myself, much better to have a super buddy show up to help in my mind.
