What would make you upset if you had to pay for it?
Any form of color customization. I'd pay a small amount for alternate animations if I could preview them.
You mean like paying for Demon Summoning MM again when I understand it came with GR expansion I paid twice for.
So to me you should be asking - What would make you upset if you had to pay for it again?

A redname verification would be nice, though I'd be surprised if this wasn't the case.
Also, just so it keeps in the spirit of the main topic, it's possible some VIP players MAY need to buy these power sets to use them. When Freedom goes live, VIP players will get Going Rogue for free... but apparently not all parts of it. New players who go VIP or existing players who haven't bought GR yet will likely have to buy things like this. I VERY MUCH DOUBT that people who already have GR would have to rebuy them, though.
Having zone access behind a paywall would trouble me. If it's a worthwhile zone to play in then those who pay for it will be there - instead of being in a zone that new/free players are in. So instead of the paying customers showing off the benefits of paying for stuff in front of others (being free advertisement) they're hidden away. (Alternatively, the new zone will be empty despite being well-designed because there's so much more activity elsewhere, creating a perception that no one plays in the new zone which starts a vicious cycle.)
I mean, my two most-played characters are a vigilante and a rogue, just so I can go join any team at a moment's notice. Bring players together, don't separate them!
Bus service in Paragon City. Those bus tokens had better damn well be worth it! I've been standing at this bus stop for the last 7 YEARS waiting for a frakkin' bus to show up!
Enhancement sets, Warburg nukes and other super powerful temp powers. It would be worrisome if the model started to lean towards "paying for power."

Access to zones or missions. As a VIP player, I believe I should never have to worry that I might be invited to a team and find I can't run the content they are planning on doing.
Sadly, the fact that it would upset me would not stop me from paying for it.

So while I wouldn't expect (or like) them charging for "finishing off" Going Rogue, it would neither surprise nor upset me if they charged for a new set of zones, and the content that went with them.
To a degree, I share the concerns about fracturing the playerbase - but if the entire zone is gated, and missions don't just "dip" in and out of it, I don't think there's much risk - you don't (or I don't, at least) see teams forming in Primal earth, and then saying "lets do a few Praetorian missions now" - I don't even see teams switching red/blue midstream. I do see co-op teams staying in the RWZ, say.
So I wouldn't like the idea of selling individual missions to VIP players, for the reasons you state. I'm a bit iffy about the signature stories - they will fragment the VIP/non-VIP playerbase - I'd have preferred to allow folks along who haven't bought the mission, but not give them any badges, end-of-mission XP, or other spiffy end-of-mission rewards. But that's something they can address over time if it turns out to be an actual problem.
As for the original question, I'd be mildly unhappy to see PvP and Purple IOs in the store, or anything in the store that you could sell for inf. Other than that, if they put something in there that I don't like/want/think is too costly, I'll just ignore it.

My concern isn't that there is a single aspect that is pay-gated, rather it is this: will my VIP status keep up with most of the new content? If I chose to use Paragon points, or whatever the currency is, to keep a breast of new powersets will I be locking myself out of new zones and story arcs (and vise versa) without putting down additional money? I wouldn't mind delaying my access to costume pieces, but if I have to put off a powerset, zone, or story for a month or two to reserve some currency I'll be a bit disappointed.
I'm also with Synchrotron in the concern on how paid for missions may cause some fracturing of the player base.

AE features. Because AE is a total mess with practically no dev support, and I refuse to pay for something that's just going to break in a few months, if it even works properly in the first place. Paying for add-ons implies that you approve of the way the base product is being handled, and it's pretty obvious by now that I don't. It would also be yet another excuse to not actually fix any of the problems.

Anything that'd make my character significantly stronger than one who'd not bought it. Stuff like Ninja Run is fine because it's more of a convenience thing than a boost in power, but if they decided to sell a tier 9 nuke or a personal shield or something that would not be fine.
Also stuff that'd physically (well, virtually) split the playerbase like zone access, because I don't want my teaming opportunities to be based on who has and hasn't paid for things yet (and I'm speaking as someone that'd likely buy that zone access). I'd hate to be in a team and someone suggests, "hey, let's run the moon zone arcs" only to find one or more people saying, "I can't, I haven't bought the moon zone". Especially since some won't even realise they can't access it meaning the team'll actually have committed to going to the moon zone before it becomes apparent that some can't do that.
Base upgrades/fixes, when bases have been ignored for... um, EVER. (Or at least, it sure feels that way.) However, since I said the word 'bases', this post will likely fall into a black hole, since that's what it seems happens to anything having to do with bases on the forum.
AE updates/fixes, because it was another fixture that was released and then practically ignored ever since. It doesn't seem to be as black-hole formative as 'bases', though.
'Paying for power' items, such as 'better than you can get elsewhere' enhancements and temporary powers.... what would be 'loot/gear' in other games. Do NOT put the 'best' stuff in the store.
And on the opposite side of the coin...
I would absolutely not mind paying for expansions and/or mini-expansions, and even some old booster-pack-ish items, provided that the base game itself also continued to get booster-pack-ish updates that were part of a subscription. A 'freemium' game that considers the subscription option the 'goal' for any player needs to make sure it keeps the subscription an enticing option, by not only making sure having a subscription unlocks general game items, but also gets you 'shiny new stuffs' regularly, as part of the (ever so enticing) subscription deal!
I think the only thing that would upset me is "pay for power" where the "power" is greatly unbalanced compared to what is available. Small things that give people an edge are acceptable.
Gated access to content is not so different compared to CoV or Going Rogue. Since VIPs will have 400 paragon points every month, we should be able to pay for access to that gated content.

I'd be upset if access to the latter half of the incarnate tree was paygated.
Specifically the latter half. You see, I already purchased Going Rogue, and I've gotten a lot of good use out of it. I also understand that it is a requirement for Incarnate access, and I'm not upset that VIPs get free Going Rogue access either. (As I've said, I've gotten a lot out of it.)
But if the final five incarnate slots were also paygated, I'd be upset. I'm fine with them being VIP only (Though, admittedly, once we have Free and Premium level 50s there will be a visible power gap between VIPs who can solo Lord Recluse, and Non-VIPs who lack the quick powerboosts the incarnate system provides.)
really i wouldn't put anything absolutely off or on the table. basically i know we will be paying for some subset of many things. if it gets overbearing and included vip things become scarce, then i'll be annoyed, but any specific item/concept as yea or nay, id prefer to work on a case-by-case basis.
I'd be upset if I had to pay for air... for a couple of minutes, at least.

Pay to win is also my concern.
The class specific paid for IOs they have already released the details of are already significantly more powerful than what is currently available.
Sadly I think it is already obvious that pay to win is what they are going for.
With the new Paragon Market, we're seeing a lot of neat new things for us to have. Most of them are things that have been asked for in the past, some are new things, most make sense to be put in the store - bonus costume slots, character slots, enhancement slots, costume pieces, travel powers similar to booster pack powers, etc.
Is there anything that you would like to be added to the game that you would be upset if it was a store-only item? Like what if they added Epic Power Pool customization as a premium purchase? What about a new epic pool - something on par with current epic pools, but with really nice looking powers? Alternate Mastermind pets (just the physical pet, not a new powerset. Like an alternate style of zombies for Necromancy)?
