  1. I'm not on the list despite interacting in some of your threads as well as in-game. Though that's just because I rarely type people's names in conversational posts. Nice being called out by so many "names" from the forums.
  2. If City of Heroes does survive in one form or another, what would you like to see added in-game to commemorate this period of time? Atlas Park 33 on Virtue permanently added? A commemorative story arc? Something else?
  3. Sorry I didn't get the chance to vote... for a while. I'll definitely post up a journal for the F-Art summary. VexXxa doesn't check in on the group as often as I do anymore, so I've been trying to step up a little bit more, especially this past week, so just let me know.

And way to go on that Daily Deviation, it's a fantastic piece and worthy of the honor.
  4. If you had the forewarning to prepare for the game's closing, along with 2 years of preparation, how would you end the story in-game?
  5. Didn't expect to see this thread come back to haunt me. And I would have never expected my answer to be "Start a movie review site centered around superhero movies".
  6. The community
    The players
    The developers
    The friends
    and lastly, the game.

I would love it if more of the devs would step up and reveal their civilian account globals for these last months.
  8. I still wish you would have been able to do more with the Mission Architect, but I understand that you didn't have much say in the fact that you were working more on story than on the MA. It was always nice knowing one redname's personal account, and seeing him on it every so often. You were always great to the MA writing community, and we will miss you.

  9. Just google Bubbawheat, only a couple rare cases where it's not me.

Currently I can be found on my site Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights.

    Twitter @Bubbawheat

And there's also the Unleashed Forums where many past and present CoH players hang out.

    ~Artz gone F2P?~

I have also dropped down to Premium as I've been spending most of my time on my new web site. I still keep an eye on the art section, but of course can't post. Also, the FArt battle is being hosted on this forum for the main fact that premiums can participate, so that draws a little more attention away from the Art forum.
  11. You can tell that I haven't played in a while because I forgot to plug my other arcs. If you liked one of mine, there's a chance you'll like one of my others, right? If you search "Bubbawheat" all my arcs should come up. While I feel It's my strongest story, you might not like Matchstick Women due to the custom enemies. A Clone of Your Own? is another fun little take on a typical story with the doppleganger system using mostly Freakshow. And if you've been on many Lambda trials yet you might get a kick out of Whack a Mole: Lambda Sector, though again, it does have all custom enemies.

Found a suitable Dev's Choice arc, CTRL-ALT-RESET by Bubbawheat.
Really liked it- fun story, entertaining manipulation of game tropes, and most importantly from my perspective STOCK ENEMIES with no ridiculously overpowered special creations.

Ran the whole thing in a half hour, picked up most of a level. Very enjoyable return to AE.

Why don't more people do relatively simple, short arcs like this one?
    Hit it and quit it!
Thanks for the plug, glad you enjoyed the arc. Fun fact - a revamped version of the end boss won me this past year's Mr. Paragon contest (not Ms. as my forum title incorrectly states) Now if they would just add Time Manipulation to the AE I could update the arc.
  13. As a side note, there is an option on Twitter to not be able to receive retweets from specific users.
  14. I'm not using AE because I burnt myself out, I played a lot of AE arcs, promoted it as much as I could, and never saw myself making any progress. It was always just me and a very small group of players playing each others arcs, and other random arcs that ended up being either horrible or broken and only rarely good.

On top of that, there's been no support for the AE outside of the rare Dev Choice and the occasional bone thrown to add a handful of new maps or some new enemies a year too late. And of course each new patch brings hundreds more broken arcs along with the filter that broke tons of arcs and hasn't been adjusted since.

I remember seeing a patch note a while back, possibly in the beta boards, saying that the average wait time no longer counts 0 wait times into the average. But then, I imagine that didn't exactly work correctly. Also, you have to remember that it also does not count people that wait in the queue for over an hour and then leave the queue. It only counts people that wait to get into the queue and eventually get in.

Lots of fun stuff this month!
  17. I considered this, but I decided to wait until the final chapter comes out in case anyone else dies as well. I'm not actively playing right now, so I've still got around 1 billion inf sitting around collecting dust. Whether or not anyone else dies, I'll split it up between the rest of the winners.
  18. I'm not exactly a returner, but I've been playing less and less and dropped down to Premium. My biggest gripe is that the character that I've been playing the most, enough to get all T4 incarnate abilities and completely IO'd out is now essentially unenhanced unless I make a second build full of SOs, or spend the next $15 which I think gets me to the IO reward level.
  19. For me, it's generally some combination of special powers and/or a persona. I prefer to say persona instead of costume because I don't think it always has to be a costume. The Punisher is a great example, he doesn't really have a costume, at least I don't think he does, he just has a skull on his shirt. And yet he has an entire persona that's specific to "The Punisher" and is not "Frank Castle". In my blog, I mention the example of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, since it has a bunch of well known mutants, yet no costumes. But they all still have a persona that's different from their life as a regular person.

  20. I started a movie blog this year that focuses on superhero movies, but aside from just reviews, I've been writing a blog post every Tuesday just to talk about whatever's on my mind at the time and this week's post I tried to analyze basically what makes a superhero different from, like an action star or something else. I didn't mention it there, but I thought about City of Heroes.

To get back around to why I'm making this post here, when you create a superhero in the game, what makes them a "superhero" and not just a "hero"? Is it their costume? Their powers? A persona of something greater than their own self? Or do you prefer to make regular guys that fight crime, or something else that's not a "hero"?

  21. I take the other route, I haven't been to a theater to see a movie since the 3D movement took off. Some of the last few movies were just when it was starting to creep into parts of movies like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Superman Returns. Of course, since I'm running a movie review blog now I should probably go see the new Ghost Rider in theaters, I didn't even realize it was going to be in 3D.

Isn't midnight on the 29th usually considered the end of the day, not the start of the day? And saying "one more day" yesterday would usually mean one more after that day rather than "one more day" meaning this is the last day?
