  1. So the finals are on in just a few days yet there is still no character copy tool for the test server.
Any word on where we are supposed to go or what we are supposed to do when that fails?
  2. It doesn't look good for faces!
I have been trying to get in on a daily basis hoping that it would be fixed.
Everytime it instead went straight to the wiki, where the wiki explained the problem, said things would be up and running soon and then linked to this thread.
The wiki no longer has that message and there haven't been any updates here in over a fortnight.
Should we be giving up hope on Faces?
  3. I am the same on the Faces front.
Every day I try to load it up and fail (sometimes a couple of days) and then I come here to check the progress and see there has been no updates for a few days and it gives me the sad face.
  4. Sprint no longer takes Celerity.
My characters that have it slotted are working find but no one else seems able to slot it.
Considering that sprint still says it takes runspeed enhancements, I am assuming bug?
  5. I went ViP for a bit and ended up with a total of 9 character slots.
I had GR (long before Freedom), bought 5 slots and am a two year vet.
Thgat should have added to 11 character slots.
I was assuming the veteran slots weren't included to Prems.
As of your post, it is now obvious to me that contrary to popular belief, Premiums do not retain the two slots from Going Rogue.
  6. I'm going to chuck in another vote for Sonic.
The -Res from Sonic has a multiplicative effect on the +damage from kinetics. It is an awesome combo.
  7. They may have played like a below average skilled High School team but they won!

    Thanks for the replies guys.
Judging from the responses, I am going to consider my quoted paragraph to be the reality of the situation.

I have to ask though, Rapthorne... Several hundred mmorpgs?

You obviously don't have help chat turned on while playing (or maybe the problem is more centered around the Freedom server and you play elsewhere)

Even if it was just limited to those situations (which I don't think it is), that is still a step in the wrong direction. Before the Invention System, such treatment wasn't warranted in any situation.

You are probably referring to the mmo with the highest number of subscribers. I admit that isn't among the MMOs I have played and judging by it's reputation, the player toxicity seems leagues more developed over there than in CoH. I do still stand by what I said, none of the mmos I have played (which the rules won't allow me to list) have had an atmosphere quite so bad as the current incarnation of this game.

I could also be judging it harshly due to it setting it's bar so high with the Pre-Invention playerbase. That very likely does make the fall from grace seem so much larger than it realistically is.
  10. Don't get hung up on the name.
I agree Precognition is just an enhanced version of Super Reflexes but as he said, he really means for psychic defense, not limited to mere precognition.
Having said that, I think that particular combination of powers could be a little too powerful.
Drain Psyche is one of the most powerful regen debuffs in the game, combining that with a melee's high damage would make short work of pretty much anything.

    Player Toxicity

I quit the game when the Invention System was first in beta. At the time, CoH was well regarded in the mmo community for it's friendly and welcoming playerbase. That was CoH's greatest appeal.

I came back to the game in April to a very different atmosphere. I have played 9 (that I can recall) MMOs besides CoH and the current playerbase seems to be the most toxic of the bunch. Just a quick browse of these forums is a testiment to that - a horrendous amount of posts contain personal insults between peers. This isn't something that was particularly common prior to my leaving CoH.

Is this a consequence of the Invention and Incarnate systems and a shift to a system more prone to power-gaming?
What as a community can we do to bring CoH's atmosphere back to it's former glory?

    What alpha?

You forgot Nerve which is arguably the best choice considering it boosts the power of your force-fields.

My bad, I assumed people would have read the notes before commenting. Here you go:
    Quote:
    Incarnate Rewards

    * Behavioral Adjustment Facility will no longer award Empyrean merits to players who have earned their Lore slot.
o That character will thereafter receive 2 Astral Merits for the first daily completion, and 1 Astral in subsequent runs.
    * Lambda Sector will no longer award Empyrean merits to players who have earned their Destiny slot.
o That character will thereafter receive 2 Astral Merits for the first daily completion, and 1 Astral in subsequent runs
After the patch, just like a fine for a traffic violation or whatever, the currency I would normally be earning is being taken from me before I get access to it.

    VIP Downgrade

No. Your main will be sitting there waiting for you until you resub.
I suggest you use one of your free transfers to get your main onto another server before you unsub.

    I'll play along.
On what grounds are you disputing it being a punishment?
The only potential argument could be the semantics involved in whether or not not issuing a rightfully earned reward is the same as taking it after it has been rewarded.

I don't know how it works in whatever country you are from but when I get a fine, that money comes from my wages automatically each week until it has been paid. The Emp merit fine too is coming from my wages automatically until it is paid. The only difference is the fact that I am never able to pay that debt. So I guess you are right, the term "punishment" isn't quite extreme enough by today's standards.

I guess that last statement also depends on whether or not you consider a government issued fine a punishment or not but I don't think I am over-crediting your intelligence too much by assuming you do.

That is kind of what concerns me. I'm not worried about people saving up Emps to sell recipes and make money.

I am more worried about them deciding it is easier to just spend a few hours farming up the Emps required to buy whatever recipe it is they want instead of paying inf for it.

Then again, LotGs and similar recipes that cost two alignment merits have been remaining constant in price even though the SSAs made them very easily farmable.

    Time to Sell Up!

    Okay.
Judging from the responses, I don't think anyone is expecting a change in prices.

I guess the wait and see approach is the best tactic. That is until we can see how farmable the mish is at least...

So I guess our rl commitments and lifespans are limiting factors.

They are punishing us for running too many BAFs and Lams and not enough new content. Whether they follow through with the punishment or not, they have already threatened to punish us for our actions.

    Yes this is it.
If those new trials are actually playable enough to have a chance of getting teams for them, the fact that you can get an infinite number of Emps is a very big deal.
You could farm enough to get the most expensive recipes in a couple of days.

I suspect prices might be about to plummet in a way this game has never seen.

    Does it even matter?
They can cancel their changes and even announce a public apology if they like.
It still doesn't change the fact that they threatened us in the first place.

    Time to Sell Up!

21.5 brings one significant change to the market: an infinite supply of emp merits.
purples and pvp IOs are going to be very easily farmable, should we be selling up now? Or do you think their demand will prevent much of a price dip even with the increased supply?
  23. To be in the cool kids club you had to be a VIP but after reading the patch notes for 21.5, is that still the case?
Have the Prems taken over the cool kids club?
  24. There is a thread for the AE changes? I didn't see one posted.
