Please, PLEASE proliferate Energy Melee to scrappers! I've been waiting seven years for this to happen, and there's no reason not to do so, speaking of low-hanging fruit!

Did Scrappers ever get Super Strength? If not, did the devs ever give a reason why not?
I like playing characters who deal justice with their fists, but on the Scrapper side that pretty much limits me to Dark Melee (and Kinetic Melee, though that's pretty different from straight up punching). I think the devs once mentioned the possibility of a Street Fighting powerset that sounded interesting, but it was probably shelved in favor of Kinetic Melee. I would really like to see Super Strength on a Scrapper. |
People, c'mon now. You have to remember that the powerset proliferation always comes in twos or threes (typically when a weapon set in involved). They also spread it out so there's something for every AT (or almost every AT) rather than just doing all the melee sets or all the armor sets.
Just because your treasured set didn't get in this time around is no need to run around like chickens with your heads cut off going "OH NOES MY SET DIDN'T GET TEH PORTZORZ! DEVS HATE ME!"

Why no Ice Melee for Stalkers? Is it because of wanting animation time for Assassin's Strike?
And why neither for Scrappers? (Ice/Ice)

As for why the change... we're probably looking at "worked against the AT and wasn't taken, and just readjustments wouldn't fix it."

Looks nice. I've had a concept in mind for a Necro/Sonic for years. I do wish they'd have proliferated Traps to Controllers and Illusion to Doms, but you can't have everything (yet).
SR Tanks just don't seem very conceptually fulfilling to me... you tank a mob with your ability to simply dodge their attacks, with no armor or shield or anything?

Well Chad knowing that those changes to Poison are coming down the pipe makes me hope for poison ruptors/trollers. Poison is such a turd live that I can't imagine wanting it at all, but making Envenom/Weaken AoEs and giving Poison Trap a hold certainly helps. Too bad PT is keeping the worthless recovery debuff, but I guess we can't have it all.

What about Dominators? You’ve probably noticed that Dominators didn’t get new powers this time around. We have exciting future plans for the archetype that we can’t talk about right now that will most likely occur post Issue 21. So, stay tuned! |
They didn't say anything about a change to their powers, but plans for "the archetype." Will be watching this closely.

Hmmm, a thought. Perhaps the reason they are waiting on Doms is because they plan on proliferating/adding a secondary which will require time for new animations? They did say they don't have time open for more animations....

Psi/ on a corr, well now, doesn't that give me something to pair with the upcoming /time? Just for kicks. SR/MA tank? Wait, what?
Now, if only I can find a name funny enough to warrant a wm/ea scrapper ...
Actually, pretty excited about the changes to /ea in general. Always wanted to like the set.
I won't deny I am happy with a bunch of these new options (I have wanted to make a Broadsword Brute for a while now) but I kind of liked it that there were some power sets specific to certain ATs. It made the ATs more special and different from each other.
Also, I have said it before but I think a modified Illusion set would be a better fit for Master Minds rather than Doms. The set as it stands for Controllers almost seems a prototype for the MM AT.
Then maybe my question is, have the guidelines gotten more lenient, or are they just deciding to do something about it now? I can think of a couple powers that would fit your description.

Though what removes some "bugged about" feelign with proliferation is having sets customized a bit - so it's more "following a theme" than "direct port." I *would* like a little more uniqueness, but on the flip side, I'm an altaholic and like all the choices.
Something else just dawned on me.
Why can't Claws be used with Granite Armor? I believe the answer was because of the animations (Eviscerate) of Claws. They didn't work with Granite armor (whether it was a game problem, or it just looked silly I don't know).
Will Martial Arts also not be able to be used with Granite Armor due to the original animation of Eagles Claw?

I'd been hoping for Super Reflexes Tankers. Love it! I'm not surprised some people have a false perception of the set's strength. It's a deceptively simple set, and very unforgiving of build mistakes. Build it well, and SR is one of the very best sets in the game. And you get to IO out for things other than Defense, like every other set in the game is stuck doing. And on Tankers...forget about it! Gonna be amazing.

As for the rest...WOW! Regen Brutes! Dark/Dark Blasters! The mind boggles! The changes to EA look nice too! And Sonic Res for MMs...my Fave AT!

Having one power be decided to get that out of bounds doesn't mean the guideline (such as it is) is any more lenient. It's that that power was so out of whack that the devs couldn't find a better way to repair it.

How about Hand Clap/Lightning Clap? It is also a PBAoE Knockback. If a readjustment could fix it (such as changing it to a knockdown), why could that also not work for Repulse?

All this sounds awesome, but something that bothers me a little bit is the Noxious/Venomous Gas part. I currently have a Thugs/Poison MM with tier 3 Incarnate stuff, squeezing out every single point of +recharge I can possibly manage, and Noxious Gas still isn't 100% uptime. To give the others a toggle version of it is fine and good, necessary even, but I hope the MM version gets the same treatment. Even if it stays as a pet-targetted power, it would be nice to have ours as a toggle as well.

If it's going to be limited to targeting pets it should be a toggle and it should have the tier effectiveness modifiers removed to make it more compatible with all of the MM primaries.
I sure hope someone in beta is really testing Poison. Not only the changes but the powerset in general. This seems to be a time when positive changes are possible.

You know what? After 5 years, I'll take it.
Everything else just sounds amazing. Particularly (to me) the concept of a buff to Energy Aura for Stalkers (and don't think it's anything but one).
Uh... wouldn't knockdown cause you to lose endurance at a MUCH faster rate than a knockback?

Energy aura for scrappers sounds great but why wasn't it added for tankers as well? And why no energy melee for scrappers? I'll take what I can get but I was really hoping to see that as well.
