  1. Huh.

    Never noticed that.

Pretty inconsequential though, save for Impale. *shrug*
  2. Agreed on both counts. I think there were some comments from Z about putting this info out via other means (FB, twitter, etc). Hopefully that will give a better sampling of the player base.

But yeah, letting us vote on future options. Winning!
  3. As mentioned, Spines only has 1 power with an immob. So trying to stack with something seems silly, and no, it doesn't fix problems with scrapper Burn.

That said, sp/fire, sp/elec, and sp/da are all epic combos.

Personally I went sp/dark/blaze, dropped Impale in favor of blast and fireball from the epic.

Works totally fine in iTrials, /DA is *weaker* on nrg resistance than it's other resistances, but it does still get some. Mine solo's crates/tubes in the LAM with no issues. Have not tried the later trials with him, so YMMV and all that.

I have to say that a Void->BU->Fireball->Spine Burst->Throw Spines->Ripper moment is just awesome.

    Pancakes!

    You beat me to it.

Mish is a Nemesis plot to get you to defeat your future self. Boom, Evil.

Oh, and x2 on the Croata assult mission. Villainous fun. I always dismiss the future-selves one.

That's a heck of a lot of suggestions. There will definitely be more melee, but I guess I'm looking for a little variety to spice things up.

Hmm.. now what to choose, heh. I used a bit of hyperbole in that first post, there are a few things I haven't given due diligence. I never got very far with the VEATs, so might check those out. Also, after playing with Dark control in beta I might give a Dom or Controller another go. I love me some dark powers.

And, at the risk of getting eSmacked by Dechs, I realized that the only AT I've never tried is a Warshade.

Guess what's first on the list of fresh alts.

Dunno if that would be OP or not, but it's an interesting suggestion.

IMHO though, I'd rather the rez be given an Untouchable status like other rez powers.
  10. So, I've played this game off and on (mostly on lately) since launch and can never seem to stick with anything but melee.

    What's the cure?

I've tried just about everything to at least the teens/early 20s, but nothing seems to hold my interest.

Bearing in mind I solo frequently, what are some suggestions?

I will admit to poor wording, but please look up the very long Dark Armor discussion that occured recently which detailed the numbers pretty much as I described. Once you start to factor in the number of toggles in use, /EA is rather expensive before it gets Energize and Drain.

Dark and Shield are .21 - Elec, Fire, and EA are .26, and get endurance mitigation tools. SR is .26 and doesn't get them.

Also please check the definition of "some."

Then there are the non-toggle-intensive sets, further pushing the cost of EA towards the higher end. Again speaking strictly before end mitigation tools are available. Like I said, after 35, the problem is non existant. It takes Tough, Weave, Manuvers, Assault, and Tactics for me to start feeling like I am burning too much blue.

I will grant that /EA lacks the toggles which are the most end intensive: dmg auras, CoF, and so on.

Using the standard slotting example you have so far, giving Reconstruction 3 Heal SOs and 3 Recharge SOs, you can heal 49% of your HP every 31 seconds.

Considering how health regeneration works (in "ticks", so 5 hp/sec may mean 10 hp every 2 seconds w/ no regen in between), being able to choose when to heal a lump sum can be beneficial. This only gets better w/ +recharge (something WP doesn't really benefit from)... in my current /regen stalker build, I heal ~55% every 20 secs, and my final build will heal ~60% every 15 seconds
    This.

I kind of understand the conceptual complaints that lead to calling Regen "Self-Empathy," but IMHO Recon is just a massive burst of Regen available really often (at high levels of recharge).

Honestly all Regen really needs at this point is a smidge of -rech resistance. If /fire gets it, I don't see why Regen shouldn't.
  13. With Valentine's looming around the corner, if we get something it'll be the Spring event.

i22 will still be a while.

  15. Go Titan/EA and never look back.

So much win; so much AoE.

Whirling Smash == Footstomp for scrappers. Seriously. Cannot go wrong with this combo.

Early levels are little slow as /EA has some of the most expensive toggles in a non-damage aura defense set, so before you get Energize and Energy Drain you'll be chugging blues.

Once you hit 35 though it's just rediculous fun.
  16. This.

Yes please. Next round of prolif.
  17. MayorOfAngrytown

    TW or StJ?

Well, both are great fun, so you won't go wrong either way.

If I had to pick one or the other it would probably be TW; primarily because it's the kind of weapon set I've wanted since forever in CoX terms. Also, of the two I run my TW much more than my StJ character.

Mechanically: TW has more AoE and I find momentum easier to manage than combo levels. That might just be a side effect of playing one more than the other. My StJ brute hasn't made it to Crushing Uppercut yet, but I hear it is full of winsauce. Both can slot -Res procs for even more win.

I'd just pick whichever one best fits the next character you want to make, theme-wise.
  18. Would seem I have a ways to go for that. 89% in FT + ~141% global makes for 230% if I am doing that right? With the FF proc I hit that, but that's unreliable.

Any clues how to get that much rech?
  19. Thanks,

Sorry, I should have been more specific, travel power is earlier - but saving it for last helps me work out power selection in mids.

At 45 and still missing a good deal of my +rech, my gut feeling is that I do want those attacks, although now that you've brought it up I'm toying with a build that drops Titan Sweep. I use it the least, and should be able to spam WS once the build is more together.

I definitely want CB, Rend, and FT for at least a somewhat full ST chain (I think AoD needs to be in there for smoothness though). I've never been a big fan of confront, but making room for Vengence and another 3x Numina's in it is looking interesting. Still seems to net slightly fewer hp than the above build though and having TS would be good for an exemping attack chain or when under heavy recharge debuffs. Still toying with it though.

I used Agility on this combo when TW was in beta and you are correct, it completely rocks. I want the big +dmg from Musculature though, even forgoing the radial side with it's +endmod. Also the interface is a placeholder. Torn between the added -res from Reactive vs. having a more unique DoT for stacking on teams. I do solo quite a bit, but I'm already planning to build Destiny wide rather than deep. I want the option of picking between the existing 4, and keep Rebirth:regen as the default choice. Clarion for UG, Barrier for when the team heals are heavy and I want to add something else, and Ageless radial for leagues when everything is covered except for the debuff resistance. Long story less long, probably only building 1 interface and several Destiny's. No clue on lore pets.

How are enhancement numbers looking? Any way to improve there? I figured the defense numbers were good sitting slightly over the softcap for s/l/f/c/n, with nrg defense approaching the iCap. Perhaps they should kick a little higher since max DDR is around 50ish %? At one point I was working a build with iCapped s/l (using agility) but it was too much sacrifice in set bonuses to get there.
  20. Hi,

I'm having a little bit of trouble finalizing a build for my scrapper. I almost like this power selection, though not inclined to use Overload much, the slotting is nice for my desires for hp/regen. OTOH it would make a nice panic button when faced with massive def debuffs.

Also not certain what is better, the full armageddon set in AoD (for the proc and the extra toxic resist) or using a second FF:Rech proc. I've already slotted the one for whirling smash and it goes off ... frequently ... the second one seems like recharge overkill.

Finally, I think the Membranes still work in energy drain after the inpending fix, right?

Any tweaks or suggestions greatly appreciated.
