Still Sexism in costume choices? Really?

Double sided tape is a wonderful tool for all people wanting to wear a backless and strapless dress.

Yeah and so are a lot of people. Most of whom don't crossdress. Yay, stereotyping!

Men don't wear enormous shoulder spikes or power armor either.

Well then I guess they'd better remove half the "with skin" options for female models.

First I'm hearing of it. How many kids' shows play crossdressing for comedy?

The only logic I can see there is "each bodytype should get a similar amount of stuff in each pack". So if female models are getting sexy witch leathers and male/huge models are getting badass occult coats, then everyone is getting about the same amount of stuff. But if you give the badass occult coats to the female models then suddenly the female models are getting two things, and that's unfair. And you can't give sexy witch leathers to the male and huge outfits, because that would be gay. So females only get the sexy witch leathers and nothing else.

Sounds good, except STEAMPUNK PACK.

Ice/Ice Blaster. Dedication to concept is an ugly thing.
Claws/WP Brute. Sex without the angst.
Every CoX character lies somewhere on this spectrum.

Yep, guys get badass pieces and girls get sexy pieces. What was the title of the thread again?

Now granted, the corsets in the Steampunk pack are pretty sweet and there has been demand for a proper corset costume piece probably since the first female hero set foot in Peregrine Island, saw a Carnie and said "OMG those corset outfits are awesome I WANT ONE!!!!" But why do women get the little bolero jackets instead of proper jackets? If I want to look at animated boobs so badly I can run another BAF. Meanwhile, some of my female characters are getting cold and want to cover up.

just sayin' various drawings of him shows the flow of his outfit is one piece (aside the cape) and not a skirt.

Yeah, let's not mistake tunics for skirts.

Yeah, I tried to make an MMA themed brute a few years back, and I wanted a mid thigh tight fight shorts look. The best I could get was a speedo look.

Really, we could do with just a pattern that was mid thigh.

That is kind-of annoying...

I wanted to do a "surfer-dude" outfit for my slacker ax-tank, but ended up scrapping the idea pretty quickly. The parts to do it just weren't there.

Mine's a ghost. She also won a costume contest for being all wrapped up in barbed wire.

That seems like an awful lot of energy spent on the label of a thing. We're talking about an open-legged piece of cloth that covers the waist and upper thighs. It may or may not be attached to cloth above the waist.

For female models, there are no "dresses." There are "skirts" that you combine with a top to create the illusion of a "dress." This isn't unique; it's how you create many one-piece outfits in this game. The parts are broken up. A "skirt" is only a "skirt" when it's not a "dress," or a "tunic," or a "robe," or "what everyone wears on Tralfalmadore," based on how it is used.

I would say that you should have this conversation with a Scotsman, or about anyone in the SCA. I bet they would love to argue about too much energy going into the naming of a piece of clothing.

But that could be describing a kilt

Yeah, it's called a shower towel.

Which brings me to my next rant on societal sexism: The Reverse Victorian.

In the Victorian age, modesty for females meant being covered from neck to wrist to ankle, even at the beach. Now, it's expected, AT FORMAL EVENTS, for women to wear as little as possible: sleeveless, shoulderless, strapless, backless, plunging, and mini. You've come a long way, baby: From being covered up because you were some man's property to almost showing it all so you can be every man's property.

And at these Black Tie affairs and Red Carpet Events, how are the men dressed? Covered from neck to wrist to ankle.

Yay. Progress.

Now, let's bring this Reverse Victorian sexism back to City of Heroes: Go to Ouroboros on the Beta server and check out the two new NPCs, Astral Christy and Empyrean Michael. Notice something?

[Oh, forgot another sexist thing the CoH Devs did until called on it: The original Pocket D dancers were all female.]

Zombie Man, you write some excellent guides, but you're remarkably wrong in this situation.

Pants are the oppressors. "Male Unbifricated Garments" for all men! (Technical term for "kilts" and kilt-like clothing that isn't a real kilt because it's not Scottish/etc.

They need kilts that are not formal Scottish wear and not worn out... like Utilikits or something.

OR...you can just make use of male and female models and have access to it all and not worry about which model type has more of what.
