Speculation on the Omega slot

I was thinking about random stuff the other day and started thinking about the mysterious Omega slot. What could it be, I wondered. Obviously, there's only so much they can do before they start making us overpowered.

We know that Judgement is an upgradeable awesome AoE attack.

We know that there is a pet summon somewhere in there--Lore, I believe?

I'm sure one of them is a Dual Pistols-esque "Add this secondary damage to your attacks" power. (Since one of the powers we get in the alpha unlock is an unresistable damage bonus. (Note: I'm positive we won't get unresistable damage--that would be overpowered.)

So--what is the final one, then? I have a theory that it could be another global enhancement. I think this for a couple reasons. Alpha and Omega are basically two sides of the same coin, right? It wouldn't really surprise me that they are similar. This also isn't the first time they've allowed us to pick multiple times from the same reward--Vet awards, anyone? And then there's the first mission of the Alpha unlock arc, where's you're all maxed out. Obviously, I don't think they'll actually let us get to that point*, but I can see them letting us have a second global enhancement. What better way to finish the incarnate path than to again increase our powers/stats a bit?

*Except in special missions where we receive no xp as a result of being in god mode

Of course, when it comes down to it this is all speculation and, in the case of one character I have that would like having both spiritual and musculature, wishful thinking.

What do you guys think?

The possibility has occurred to me as well. Perhaps not Omega, but I thought they might give us the option of another slot somewhere in the middle.

I'm personally interested in Cardiac/Cardiac.

It'll be a global bonus like the Alpha Slot, only more powerful. And to make up for it being more powerful, it'll shift you back down one level.

Maybe it will be a global modifier for your other incarnate powers?

Always remember, we were Heroes.

maybe a power like states lightning? but ill depend on what ur origin is??

I have characters that already act like god-like Tank-mages just with a Very Rare Alpha slotted. It seems like the only things that would make them more powerful is to have the Omegas give them the powers we got in the first mission of the Mender Ramiel Incarnate arc.

Omega slot will give us the 'I Win Button'.
Just kidding.
But maybe Omega slot will do something completely weird to us, like give us Reaction commands, or give us something like fighting game super attacks/finishers

I've been thinking that too, and others, without any evidence other than what you've posted. It kinda makes sense. I've also heard supposition (i.e., unsubstantiated rumor) that the level shifts will stack too. Hopeful thinking? Yes. But who knows.

I am preparing a second "Very Rare" Enhancement to get a head start -- just in case it is. If it isn't another global enhancement, I'll have another Very Rare enhancement to slot in the Alpha Slot. So nothing wasted really.

Hope, hope.

I'd expect that from Interface.

Imo, it is far far too early to start speculating about the Oslot.

My biggest hope for the Incarnate system is mez protection for non-melee characters.

^^This.

My corruptor's only weakness. I wish I didn't have to carry a tray of break frees at all times.

During City of Blasters, /Regen Scrappers could tank Hami. I'll take it.

While most players wouldn't necessarily understand this, I would love if the Omega slot increased your base AT modifiers in all respects and removed the HP cap.

So for example a Scrapper has a melee modifier of 1.125 and a defense/resist buff modifier of .75.

Let's say the Common Omega multiplied that by 1.2. Now that Scrapper would have a melee modifier of 1.35. Let's say the Ultra-Rare Omega doubled your modifier. Now that Scrapper would have a 2.25 melee modifier and a 1.5 resist/defense modifier.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

While I'm generally in favour of absolutely breaking the game as much as humanly possible, I just have to go at this.

You don't know what I would make you do to get that Ultra-rare though!

Wow, that would be absolutely insane.

I can only hope they add challenging opponents for Incarnates to fight once all of this is finished, like oh... the legendary Battalion.

It will never happen, but I would love to be able to raise my hit cap from 95% to 97%.

Or maybe Omega allows you to slot one of the powers in the first mission of the Mender Ramiel arc. Wouldn't mind having Divine Core Oscillation, Limitless Radial Freeeem, or Paradox Core Eternity. Divine Core Oscillation and Limitless Radial Freeeem could work if they are modified a bit to be less powerful. Divine Core Oscillation could increase the percentage of your attacks that are unresistable. Say 5% for Common and 25% for Very Rare. Limitless Radial Freeeem could be modified so the buff is more reasonable. Buffing regen, damage resistance, recovery, and defense would certainly be an Omega Power.

On second thought, Omega should follow the alpha slot, but instead of it buffing enhancements, it buffs stuff that can only be enhanced through buffs (Assault, Tactics, AM, etc) or set bonuses (recovery, regen, max health, etc.)

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

I'd like to see the Omega slot be tier 10 powers for primaries and secondaries. The different rarity levels would simulate you slotting it; like for an attack power the Core branch would focus on damage and accuracy while Radial would focus on recharge, end cost, and secondary effects.

Maybe it will give you six slots for each and every one of your slotable powers.

Kheldians will go nuts.
