Speculation on the Omega slot

What if it's a godmode power similar to those we see in Ramiel's arc, and are craftable using just one component and some shards, but with a trick: the effects are truly overpowering, but last only so long (10-15 mins) and are used up in the process?

So you can be untouchable, but you can only be so by using what you've earned in 1-2 sf's, and it's temporary.

Huh. Actually, if they did that I'd be very interested in seeing what they made the omega incarnate trial like.

My guess? The devs don't know what the Omega slot does yet They've just given themselves plenty of space to make things up!

I just want to be told what all ten slots do, just told, because the last time I truly Squeed about this game was when either GR or Power Customization was announced, whichever was later.

Omega is a sign synonymous with the end, so I'm expecting epic beyond epic, and I disagree about it being released next. The chart starts with Alpha at the bottom and Omega at the top, so the slots will probably slowly creep up from Alpha.

And I love the idea about 10th tier powers, I've been dreaming about that for years.

Another thought was that Alpha and Omega are massively useful general purpose slots, the other eight might devote themselves to the various ability categories the game has such as Summon, Defense, Debuff, Blast, Control, etc., making powers of these types available to all.

I'm expecting something which will bump up player stats to be on par to those of an AV - Increasing the HP/regen cap, damage/recharge cap, resistance/defense cap and endurance/recovery cap while also granting a bonus to each, but not to the caps, with the Ultra Rare offering something like this:

+2.5k added to HP cap, 500% added to regeneration cap. 1k hp automatically granted (1.5k to Tanker/Brute), 200% regeneration automatically granted (400% to Tanker/Brute)

+300% to damage cap, 100% to recharge cap. 100% automatically granted to damage (150% to Blaster and Stalker), 50% to recharge (75% to Dominator and Controller)

+20% added to resistance cap, 100% added to defense cap. 30% resistance to all damage automatically granted (40% to Tanker/Scrapper/Brute/Stalker), 30% defense to all damage and positions automatically granted (45% to Tanker/Scrapper/Brute/Stalker), resistance caps only go up to 99%

+50 added to endurance cap, +100% added to recovery cap. +20 endurance automatically granted (+30 to Defenders and Corruptors), +50% recovery automatically granted (+75% to Defenders and Corruptors)


OR

Purple triangles of doom clickie with increasing level bumps (T1 +0, T2 +1, T3 +2, T4 +3, letting you get to level 54 with the Alpha Slot)

Anyway, what I like to pretend is that the Omega Slot's Rare/Very Rare bonus is a level-shift kinda thing that makes AVs and Heroes at the same level as you con white to you. They will con even lower if you have the Alpha level-shift and maybe other level-shifts in the future.

From then on out you will just fight missions full of AVs instead of normal mobs. They will have to throw the entire Freedom Phalanx, Vindicators, the Arachnos Elite, the Praetorian Guard and other assorted supers at you just to give you a reasonable chance to lose.

I was kinda hoping that mission was a glimpse into the real attainable future... or at least close to it. I had a blast in it.

Never too early to look to the future!

So many interesting ideas, a few of which I hadn't considered. Some of them seem a bit overpowered, but nonetheless interesting. (And it is the omega slot, after all!)

As neat (and frankly, game breaking) as that would be, I sincerely doubt it. Without substantial and necessary drawbacks/nerfs to such a state of being, it would trivialize all content. Of course, if it was a short duration timer like Seldom said....

But no, I think the purpose of that was to show an unobtainable "future self" type of deal, like they do on some video games where they stack the odds in story battles.

Somewhere in all the Incarnate slots from Alpha to Omega I pray there is a bit of Mez protection for squishies. It would be a shame for my blaster Lightslinger to rise through all the levels of the Incarnate System, become as powerful as Recluse and Statesman, then be promptly slept/stunned/held by a minion in a warehouse.

I think there'll either be 3 or 4 Level Shifts.

Alpha (First Level Shift)
|
Level Shift at Incarnate Slots 4 and 7, or Level Shift at Incarnate Slot 5.
|
Omega (Last Level Shift)

This'd bring the player up to Level 53 (Max level for SO's) or Level 54 (Max level seen in game so far.)

Edit: In Addition, I think the Omega will be, as others have said, a Global Enhancement, similar to the Alpha.

Except the Devs have said that the whole incarnate system will bring us to a theoretical level 60, so all ten will have a level shift of some kind.

The Omega Slot...

After six months of running a 52 player raid every day you will have sufficient components to build your Omega slot power.

Using it you will be resistant (100%) to all damage and mez effects, while your own damage will be unresistable (100%) and you'll critical on every third attack. You will have a +10 level shift.

You will then be two shotted by a minion on entry to the first Incarnate raid you walk into.

If its another boost like Alpha, it'll be more powerful and with different combinations than we have now. It won't be just a rehash of that.

I don't think it'll be another version of the Alpha slot, I think to finish off the Incarnate rewards they would make it bigger and cooler etc, maybe an epic power or something.

I'd kill to have slottable/IO'd Sleep Protection on MZ. So irritating to be able to shrug off disorient, holds and immobilise only to have sleepy time. I mean, I know MZ is an elderly scientist but I didn't envisage him falling asleep in the middle of a pitched battle!

I'm fairly certain that at least one of the slots will be a global proc, but I could see them making up to 5 global procs all with small chances of going off.

Damage proc (different kinds of damage) (almost certain)
Debuff proc (-def, -res, -recharge, -tohit)
Buff proc (+def, +res, +recharge, +tohit)
Mez proc (hold, disorient, confuse, immob)
Heal proc (+heal, +end, +regen, +recovery) (unlikely)
