I understand now. I can't select anything in tier 9 or tier 9 VIP however, which led me to believe I needed 30whatever *available* reward points to do it, when I only had 9. What a confusing mess.

I'm not understanding this at all. Haven't logged in since before Freedom launched. I got 40 reward tokens but 31 are already spent?

Quote:Yes they are. Raids are raids. There's no time requirement for the definition of the word. Then folks should stop saying that the devs are copying WoW and other raiding games. In fact they should stop calling the trials, "raids" because they aren't.
You should probably stop with the "People need to do this, people need to do that. I'm gonna set you all straight" tone of your posts if you're going to post inane irrelevant stuff like this. -
I think the table should come back up upon relogging in if you happen to D/C, but I wouldn't trust it that much either.

Let's get a computer system to track how many of these threads there are

Quote:Different strokes broThis kinda mystifies me when I see it.
Mostly because most people I've seen say something like this mean it along the lines of: I'm not super unless I can crush any opposition to me with no effort at all.
Personally, I find Batman a helluva lot more entertaining than Superman. Batman has challenges to overcome, Superman (unless it's some global threat) has essentially zero chance of being defeated by his opponent, and that's boring.
Ramiel's arc was the most fun I've ever had in CoH, in particular the Ouroboros mission where you're in the future and max incarnatededed out. No chance of losing, but the most fun I've ever had.. and I've been here about as long as anyone's been able to be here. -

Quote:Dude, it's coming out next week. They've had an open beta to all active accounts that lasted several days.I'm expecting at least a few new pieces with i20.
It is a rare issue where we don't get at least a couple new costume pieces.
I don't, however, necessarily expect them to tell us about them too far in advance though.
Smell the coffee cause what's in it is what you're getting. -
Quote:People should really stop pulling percentages out of their butts and pretending that they are facts. The problem is, the people who find PvP fun in this game number at significantly less than 5% of the population. I heard a guess that it was around 2%, which I'm inclined to believe.
You might be right and you might not, but I stopped reading anything else you had to say as soon as I saw this. I bet I'm not the only one. -
Quote:It seems that everyone is hyper-focused on the new powers and angry that they will be forced to grind the trials over and over. That concept that you will be forced to do something that you find distasteful is so strange to me.
It's not that foreign of a concept. We do this on a daily basis. I don't want to go to work everyday but I want the money so I put myself through it. I don't want to drive to the gym and exercise but I want the results so I put myself through it. I don't want to pay taxes but I want to stay out of prison so I put myself through it.
People want the end results so they do things they'd rather not to get there. Everyone does this to an extent. Ever had a inventory full of salvage and think "i'd rather not have to go to WW's or a vendor to clear all this out" but you do it anyway eventually. Why? -

We should band together and make "hero" into a derogatory slang word and see what happens.
Censorship is stupid. -
Quote:So what are you trying to say, Marvel risks losing their copyright because a bunch of people made some X-Men lookalikes in a video game with a character creator and they didn't do anything about it? Seriously? What the "omg content police waah they's evil!" group doesn't get is that a copyright holder *must* enforce their copyright or risk losing it. Which means if they get word that, say, a group is making X-men clones in COH, they've got to hold PS/NC responsible. Not the players.
This isn't about an artist or studio creating and selling a comic book with a lead character who bares fur and claws and a costume closely resembling wolverine. It's people making characters in a video game with a character creation tool, which certainly is not limited to CoH.
Actually this thread specifically is only dealing with character names, which has nothing to do with anyone making character clones or not. -
Quote:Anyone can sue anyone for anything. You made absolutely no valid point in that entire paragraph.slight problem.
It wasn't common sense, and it wasn't logical thinking. The risk of lawsuits still remains. Marvel could sue again if they felt that their intellectual property was being infringed upon by City of Heroes. Anybody else is also free to sue if they feel that City Of Heroes is infringing upon their intellectual property.
Quote:The actual settlement between Marvel and NCSoft / Cryptic was more of an "in abeyance". It's a legal term. Look it up.
Quote:I've bolded the important part since it applies here.
The players are expected to do their own due-diligence in regards to the names of their characters. This does require action on the part of the players. -
Quote:OMG. Someone with actual common sense, logical thinking and reasoning when it comes to the trademark/copyright infringement CYA jargon. It's too bad the legacy of the lawsuit is self-appointed trademark police "keeping the game safe from another lawsuit" when in fact there is zero possibility of any more lawsuits and the settlement of the previous one requires no action on the part of the players at all. You can see form the OP how it causes needless worry and loss of enjoyment in the game. It's just a shame.
I really wasn't sure there were any left. -
Quote:from the Wiki
If you attack while Cloaked, you will be discovered. Even if discovered, you still maintain a Defense bonus to all attacks.
Can anyone tell me what the base of that defense is and if it functions exactly like Stealth or does it retain a higher defense power than Stealth after being discovered? I ask this because....
from the Wiki regarding Stealth
If, however, you attack while using this power, you will be discovered and will lose your stealth and some of your defense bonus
Don't know the hard numbers but you don't lose any defense bonus from energy cloak attacking or otherwise. It's a constant bonus while toggled. -

Since there wasn't anything mentioned about the next incarnate slot in the issue called Incarnates, I won't jump to conclusions but I will say:
IF there isn't anything in this issue about it, ima be very disappointed. -
If it was obvious then there wasn't much of a point of gloating about calling something
