Was very smoth, lots of fun, didnt took more than 1 and half hour. My team was really awesome, we only had 2 deaths on the run.
Everything awesome.
Then when we finished we lost mapserver.
When everyone was back, we didnt had any reward. No Notice, no Incarnate component, no merits. Crap... A damn bug.
I reported, also my teammets.
Hope we can get a fix soon and have our rewards back.
^This. My second LRSF ever and my first success. And then we all DC, and lost everything despite the SF saying 'finished'.
What. The. Crap. Man? Did anyone actually test this? Seriously?

Fix. ASAP. Theres no other option here.

No, there's no mention of arduous.

ac·com·plish·ment

–noun 1. an act or instance of carrying into effect; fulfillment: the accomplishment of our desires.

2. something done admirably or creditably: Space exploration is a major accomplishment of science.

3. anything accomplished; deed; achievement: a career measured in a series of small accomplishments.

4. Often, accomplishments. a. a grace, skill, or knowledge expected in polite society.

b. any acquired ability or knowledge.

I'm not asking for it to be "handed to" anyone. I'm asking that they maybe think about the future a little with these badges. 50 runs of this for no extra reward is a lot right now, and I can guarantee you that the luster will wear off once the trials come in. I just don't think that a badge should be easier for the first people in a group to get than it is for those down the road.

25 might be a more realistic figure. To take someone else's target from above, running it 4 times per week means 3 that count toward the badge. That's about 17 weeks with the current total. Even at 25, it would take you 8 weeks plus an extra run in the 9th week. Is that badge now being handed to you? Last I heard, completing more busy work wasn't an accomplishment to most, and those that thought that it was were generally public school administrators.

Was angel a 45 month veteran or a level 45? Big difference. Neither will qualify you for the notice...only alpha slotted.

The Strike Pack is epic. That is all.

I've done the STF more times today than I have in the last six months. This seems to be intended.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Given that the Strike Pack/i19.5 contains no playable content and only system stuff, can we wait until i20 to decide if the Rare and Very Rare boosts were meant to be soloable or not? Just like Ultra Mode was ready before Going Rogue and released accordingly, it could be the Rare and Very Rare boosts plus the Target of the Week were ready but the (hypothetical) soloable method/content for "Notice of the Well" and "Favor of the Well" isn't ready/finished yet.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but when the other slots are released, will the level shifts stack? o.0

Just quoting this to say, I PuG'd the STF tonight and it's about the best team i ever ran with!

Mind/Kin troller (me)
Thugs/TA MM
Squiddy Warshade
Dark/Dark Tank
Scrapper (didn't even look at his powers =/)
Shield Tank
FF Defender
Emp defender

This team was put together when i noticed everyone LOOKING for a team and no one recruiting, so i grabbed the first seven people i saw shouting out. No stone/invuln tank, (heck, had 2 tanks, zomg!), no rads/thermals/colds, no dedicated ranged DPS, and we got through in about an hour and a half.

At best, this looks like a "Safe" group, with lots of defense and some control, but our offense was pretty good, too. Aeon went down in 2 minutes, we took all 4 patrons at once (granted we summoned Temp pets and used a Buff nuke), and Recluse went down with barely a hitch.

Moral of story? It's all about the players and how they build their characters, not specific powersets!

-STEELE =)

Allied to all sides so that no matter what, I'll come out on top!
Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)

Originally I liked this idea, but now in practice I don't. When I saw lots of people waiting in IP, some for half an hour, I knew immediately this was not going to be fun at all. It caused too much competition for other archetypes that teams need, like Tanks and some kind of debuffer. And for those particular TFs, you need a balanced team. Not a specific powersets, but diverse ATs.

When I did finally get into a group for an STF. Things were going well, we managed to defeat the patrons, then Recluse wiped us out. We just could never get that window of time to drop the red tower and losing our tank prior to that mish did not help. So someone drops, and the rest of the team has 2.5 hours wasted. So tonight, I hate you Devs, I really frakking hate you this evening. I'm passing on this week's WTF, and the acronym truly suits it.

You played a Task Force that pretty much requires a tank for the final encounter.

The tank quit before the final encounter, and you cannot survive.

The devs are to blame...

You logical train has flown off the tracks somewhere.

Not really. The fault lies in designing a Task Force that "pretty much requires a tank". A prime aspect of this game is that most things don't "pretty much require" anything. If a task has been designed that does, and that task is flagged by the developers as "what you should be doing this week" (which is precisely what the WST is), the developers are at least as culpable, if not wholly responsible, for the problem of having no tank.

And keep in mind that it is working as intended that you cannot replace a lost team mate on a Task Force. That makes it even more their fault.

Thanks for the spreadsheet.

May I ask how you got the requirements for the Ultra Rares? For example, you say for the Cardiac Paragon Core that you need "Any two (2) non-identical Cardiac Revamps." So any two should do, not just the two partials right? But in-game, the tree makes it look like you need the two partials, and not the Total Core or Total Radial Revamps.

Been comparing notes w/a friend, again in-game, and I slotted a Total Core Spiritual while my friend slotted a Partial Radial Spiritual. For the Core Paragon, he is showing 1 of 2 revamps (plus the Note of the Well and whatever) while I'm showing 0 of 2 revamps. The wording also pretty much states you need the two Partial revamps, which would make the Total Core/Radials useless, which makes no sense. Can't imagine that's WAI...

Every Tuesday, we will announce a new Task Force and Strike Force, or a co-op Task Force, as the weekly Strike Target. Completing the weekly Strike Target will reward a one-time gift of double merits and a bonus to XP. While these bonuses are only rewarded once-a-week, completing the weekly Strike Target multiple times will earn progress towards three new badges for helping other teams.

Completing the weekly Strike Target with a character who has their Alpha Slot unlocked will receive a once-per-week Rare “Notice of the Well” Incarnate Component, which can be used to craft Rare Incarnate abilities. Combining multiple “Notice of the Well” Components with Incarnate Shards will yield the “Favor of the Well,” which can in turn craft Very Rare Incarnate abilities. Some of these Rare and Very Rare Incarnate abilities can even trigger a Level Shift.

Look for the Weekly Strike Target to be announced every Tuesday on the NCsoft launcher and on the City of Heroes forums. For more information about the Issue 19 Strike Pack, visit the Issue 19 Overview Page!

Please note, there is currently an issue related to the Rare and Ultra Rare Alpha slots. More details in the Technical Issues & Bugs forums.
Okay, one small, but VERY important gripe.

NO NOTICE OF THE STIKE TARGET ON THE LAUNCHER!
Are we supposed to simply comb through the forums every day looking for the correct thread?
It COULD go in the MOTD. WHOOPS! /gmotd doesn't work right now EITHER!

Sorry to harsh on you here Av. Just VERY irritating.

WTF anecdote time. I assembled a team with friends to do STF, and we finished in 48 minutes with three deaths without a tanker. Meanwhile, another team that was forming before we had started was still one short twenty minutes after we finished.

On Virtue, the boat in Independence Port has been as crowded as full raid zones, with horrible lag and people/pets blocking mission entrances. Sometimes there'd be Ouro portals dropped on mission doors, making it impossible to enter. I'm not sure if it was griefers or just people being slow.

So far i did enjoy the STF I did yesterday on Union, three defenders, two controllers, one brute and a tank. Aside a few deaths everything went rather smoothly especially Recluse went particularly well with no deaths at all. And this was on a PUG. Yes we were lucky, but it can de done.

My only gripe is that you can get only one notice of the well a week per char (considering i'm suffering from altitis) so my 10 level 50's need to do the WTF every week to get all the notices. It is gonna take a long time for me to get to the very rare on all these chars. And more slots are on the way. I game regurarly but not all the time (gotta work, eat and sleep as well sometimes! ANd I do have a social life) and there are players who have more level 50's slotted with the Alpha slot!

So i can see that the people complaining about the game getting too grindy as a valid point even if you succeed doing all the WTF's at the first go.

But someone did make a point that we might be able to earn more Notices of the well another way when I20 comes out. So IF that happens I am reserving my judgement.

And when do we get the information on the next booster (the long awaited animal pack)?

Do you want the NICE answer or the HONEST one?

WARNING! NOBODY...EVER wants the HONEST answer. And if they tell you they do, they're STILL expecting the NICE one!

Well, the way I see it, or I should say, the way I play it, (having 1 main and 23 alts, and that’s just Infinity), Incarnate is for my one main, the end. Just like all the badges, temp powers, etc… is main only. Maybe if I actually get another character to L50 I’ll consider a common or uncommon, but, really, especially with 10 slots of incarnates, each to Very Rare, plus whatever comes after incarnates… I’m saying… I have ONE superman. Everyone else is a Robin type. But that’s just me.

Now, an anecdote… I do not, Not, NOT like to group. But, I wanted the +1 shift, so I sucked it up and did a LRSF. 1 was a warm body that joined only so we could have 8, then dropped. So that’s 7 people. 3 Tankers. 1 Brute. 1 Scrapper. 1 Defender. 1 Controller. (And yes, if it wasn’t for the Brute, it was almost an “all hero archetype” LRSF, which I found funny a little).

First few missions, we went all our separate ways, being tank heavy, doing our own thing, taking out objectives. Deaths for the 2 squishier people were common, but they actually didn’t mind as they went “exploring”. Many had never done this SF before, so we didn’t mind waiting for them to rez. Hey, it’s their game too.

I did comment that when that Malta talked about “varmints” I was like “Who are we fighting? Elmer Fudd?” and the Bugs Bunny jokes came fast.

We messed up the pull and got all the Vindicators at once. I think the scrapper died once and the squishies died, like, 4+ times each, but we pulled through. Then came the final mission against the Phalanx itself. No sleep. No confuse. Peg one off, they all came and killed us.

But, by the time we regrouped, Numina still had some damage on her. So we did it again. And died. And again. And died. But her Hp was slowly dwindling. By the time she was at half, a kind soul in the group dropped all 3 nukes, a Shivan, and a Vanguard Heavy, killing her before we wiped.

That was the snowball effect. Next pass? Killed another. Next pass? Another. Soon, we were able to take the last 3 at once, killed all but Statesman. Our group then did their respective battle cries, and I went “Well, as the Malta would say, KILL THE WABBIT.” A few people didn’t attack for a while, which they said they were laughing their head off, sort of in a “you had to be there” and, we were all REALLY tired because it was almost a 4 hour SF for us. But Statesman dropped. And nothing. We panicked, knowing about the glitch for Rare Slots (someone had one and didn’t remove it, saying he’d never had a problem). Then we noticed one lone longbow. “Someone kill that [Expletive Deleted due to board rules]” Kill. Dead. Ding. Notice of the well.

I know LRSF vets are likely rolling their eyes at the zerg tactics, but hey, we do what we can with what little SF skills / exp I've got, and, it got done. No finesse, but done.

Now, I tend to be VERY negative on the boards, and in life, but I had to share the above because, I surprised myself by enjoying myself tonight, instead of it being a slog. Would it have been different if we failed? Hate to say probably. But I thought I’d share a success story from a (mostly) soloer. And here’s to +1 level, Blue 50s, and a good night’s sleep. Night all.

Meanwhile, having your Rare equipped and attempting to run any TF/SF will result in "Lost connection to mapserver". I stopped trying to run a LGTF with it on after the 4th rollback (that's what it causes, you DC and then it rolls back as in, Shivans spent are back, HVAS spent are back and so forth). Guessing this wasn't an occurrence during the beta testing?

Okay... please note that I am not Trolling this thread. I would like a genuine answer from a solo player to the following question.

If you play solo and don't team (and more to the point, are annoyed that you HAVE to, even though they have already said that when i20 drops there are other ways to get the Tier 3 and 4 powers) then what's the problem? Without a team, there is no one to have to keep up with, and therefore no reason to rush to get the rare and very rare enhancements. I guess I don't understand why people are mad that they can't keep up with the team players when they are highly unlikely to ever really see/talk to/fight with them...

Or am I missing somehing on this one?

DISCLAIMER: I have not chosen one side or the other on this issue!

What you are "missing" is that some (I couldn't say how many) players aren't looking at the current unsoloability of the deeper incarnate content as "not being able to keep up" but rather they feel that this system is another form of advancement, much like leveling is. There are of course debates as to how much like leveling this advancement is though I don't think anyone can deny it IS a form of advancement beyond 50 (though I am sure someone will post to do just that!). Being unable to advance their character through the incarnate content via solo means (even if slower) is seen as a detriment to these players. What it boils down to is it isn't about keeping up with people they don't typically interact with but rather being walled off from further character advancement (i.e. level 50 game play) unless they engage in activities in game they do not enjoy.

The flip side of this coin is that the devs have stated they are investigating methods for the solo player to engage the incarnate system. But this statement is seen with suspicion and disbelief. Some of these players believe it to be a false statement or an assurance that won't come to fruition. They refer to pvp and bases being left out in the cold and fear the same will happen to the soloist. They say the solo content should have been ready and available at the same time the group content was. I can't say I agree or not with that last statement.

My personal stance is I am a solo player most of the time. I am perfectly fine with not being able to solo the deeper incarnate content right away. I believe we will see that solo option eventually and I am content to wait until it is added to the game. That's basically where my stance ends.

Who's 'angel'?

Alpha is my level 50 MM, with Alpha slot and all that. I GOT the Notice of the Well. Just as soon as I crafted my Rare Alpha, everyone DC'd and we were all rolled back. Rewards, inf, prestige; all gone.
Hoping that support can fix this.
