  1. Oh, and I'd like to say for the record that I must have gotten pretty damn lucky over the years with PUG's, because I've never seen 90% of the stuff in this thread.

  2. Okay... please note that I am not Trolling this thread. I would like a genuine answer from a solo player to the following question.

If you play solo and don't team (and more to the point, are annoyed that you HAVE to, even though they have already said that when i20 drops there are other ways to get the Tier 3 and 4 powers) then what's the problem? Without a team, there is no one to have to keep up with, and therefore no reason to rush to get the rare and very rare enhancements. I guess I don't understand why people are mad that they can't keep up with the team players when they are highly unlikely to ever really see/talk to/fight with them...

Or am I missing somehing on this one?

Truth be told, any name fits. I'd refrain from putting the terms Widow or Operative or Fortunata on my VEAT, as plotwise, you go through alot of trouble to create an alias and get that name on the Destined One's list. While doing official Arachnos business, you should never take your helmet off so no one knows your face. You even get a 2nd costume so you can "operate" outside of Arachnos influence and rob banks without the Arbiters finding out who you are (after all, they don't dig too deeply into Destined Ones' affairs).

After all the trouble you go through to create a 2nd identity for your VEAT, just letting everyone know you work for Arachnos sounds abit silly for me. IMHO.

Agreed... HOWEVER, I knew com the beginning that I would be playing a Crab Spider and you can't hide the backpack, so I went with the "Operative" thing. It makes sense as a Crab since they kinda CAN'T hide.

My Crab is Operative Netspyder... the hard-light, virtual reality controlled, alter ego of Arachnos technician and weapons designer Alex Von Derkin and his like minded colleagues that were tired of sending weapons into the field and wishing they could be a part of the action. Recluse is, after all, smart enough to not send his technicians into battle... they are far too useful to Arachnos for that.
  4. Oh... should have specified... PVE build. Also, I have the Black Scorpion Patron Set with the Beams and Summon Blaster. Only Power Pool Powers are Hover, Teleport, and Recall Friend.

    Thanks.
  5. The Crab just hit 50. It took forever, and I've been waiting for that to happen to IO slot him. With that being said, I wanted to try my hand at Frankenslotting this one (my mains are Setted).

Anyone have any advice for powers? I have a respec available still and want to be able to make the most of it. Have mids program , but haven't gotten good enough with it to try to post anything yet.

Excellent point. Either that or they hurry up and make some "Hey... this isn't the real Well" dialog.
  7. So, last night I ran the 5th Column SF for the first time. I don't know why I hadn't tried this before, but usually my time is constrained and I don't have SF's on the brain. Anyway, long story short... we "lost."

I say that with no little measure of sarcasm, because even though Reichsman didn't go down, he decided to drop a whopping NINE Shards on me for the effort of attempting to take him and his people out. NINE.

So, if you're a villian out there trying to rock the LGTF for Shards, may I suggest a trip to Grandville. It was definitely worth it for me.
  8. I only have it as an option on his main costume, however I also have Snow on him and my Night Widow (her main as well).

Guess I got lucky for once. Went ahead and left it on him.

  9. Tried to get it as best as I could, but the lightning is hard to catch.
  10. Just as an FYI... I ws playing with my Crab Spider's look today and came across a "Storm Cloud" Aura.

Imagine that you mixed full body Smokey and full body Electricity. It's pretty sweet, but didn't match my character's theme at all.
  11. "The key to using the Blackwand Veteran Reward Power is timing."

  12. So, it can't be done on the same account? Wow, that's gonna put a wrinkle in my entire thought process behind it. Plus, with the new Auto SK, I'm not sure what good I can see in it now (other than badgehunting).

    Any way around this?

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

Is there any way we can plan a couple of these a week, maybe? I used to LOVE getting in these, and I have some alts that I want to get involved, but they changed my work schedule and I have to work Wed's and I'm missing it.

    Switching Sides

If I can do it, I'll probably move all of them to Redside. I've found that I VASTLY prefer that end of the pool. Not only are the contacts more interesting, but also the fact that there is less space to travel means that instead of spending my slots on Flight and Hover, I can just hop into Ouro, get to Grand, and pick up a cheap Jet Pack and max my character better. Also, the enemies tend to make more sense and seem less "Silver Age."

Now, the one thing that could throw a monkey wrench into that is Praetoria. My two mains are (and always have been) Praetoria Arachnos, which by the rules of the place must be a peace-keeping force. I'm excited to see if I can finally get them back to their superiors in that organization, and in that case, I might move them to Blue.

All in all, though, I have to admit that I wish this would have been centered around Ouro and the Menders. This would have given us the opportunity to explain that the past history of the characters was changed and that's why they might have changed sides. Plus, we would have gotten a "CoX: The Golden Age" by default. But then, I wish MA would have been Ouro based as well, instead of an "entertainment tool developed by Crey and Dr. Aeon."

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

I'll be returning after a long absence this week so that I can die alot for you guys...

I think I'm gonna try my hand at playing the MM this week, since that character needs the $$$. Looking forward to playing my Crab Spider in there soon. I want to make sure I hit 35 on a Wed so I can drop the Omega Maneuver on those rubbery bastards.
  16. Praetorian Arachnos is something that I have been toying with for a while, in game. However, seeing them specifically now would be great. They have to be a Peace Keeping force, after all... and who says that on Preatorian Earth that Recluse ever wrested power from The Weaver?
