Switching Sides

With Going Rogue announced, the question arises, who among your characters would swap, and why? Or better yet, why not?

All of the Abrahmses (Original, Classic, and Evil) are too set in their minds to consider switching. They may be tolerant of the moral ambiguity of others, but they all believe that what they are doing is the right thing. (yes, even Evil Abrahms)

The announcement itself is a bit of funny timing, as I just released an AE arc about Professor Nutronious' ideas on the subject.

Crash Course, for some reason, has seemed like he may be taking a long look at the state of Paragon's lawn.

Operative McGavin has been a villain playing a Hero for two years now. The question is, does he want to get his Arachnos gear back.

DOStruction isn't necessarily evil, just paranoid. It will be interesting to see it's reaction to all this.

And just for laughs, let me throw this out there: The Heroic Thin Line.

A: You crash into another one.

Ok.. as mentioned previously, my crab, Sable Murphy would switch in a second.

Not a one of my current heroes would become evil, though my PB Neely has become rather dark, and I COULD see her moving to the Rogue Isles just to get closer to her intended targets.

Hmm... Before all the story that I've already written, Ebony Rose would have jumped at the chance. RP - wise, though, she's now accepted her place and won't be switching.

Nope, I think Sable is the only one who would switch, and I just don't think even Dark Neely has the stomach to spend much time the Rogue Isles.

The only one I can think of is, if they have a "middle ground" where you're considered neither truly good nor evil, would be Trickster's Jackalope. He's never fully controlled his fire powers, and he IS the magically-created offspring of Coyote and Crow, sorta, so when you get the trickster god involved in anything, it's hard to remain "entirely" good.

I don't really have many others who'd make the transition. I play heroes and I like it, and my few villains are villainous. Well, I think it would be funny to have Barbed Lifeline my zombie/dark mm change to good - after all, her zombies are named Skippydoodle, Twitterpated and Boogiedeboogie... And her sg's logo is a pink and purple heart...

Busty is definately slated to explore her shades of gray... and possible traverse the darker side for a while. *nods* Most definately.

Unless I just tottally get surprised....the only character that I have (on protector) that could do this...GrayMatter. Could revert back to his old WS self.

Blazing Blue 50 fire/fire Blast, BlueStarr 50 PB, BlueSt 50 stone/ss Tank, Purple Pummaler 50 bs/regen Scrap, Green Puritan 50 emp/nrg Def, Raging Red 50 ice/cold Cor,WhiteLightning 50 ill/storm Cont, GrayMatter 44 WS,Green Marauder 24 nrg/stone Brute,Dark Blue Blaze 26 fire/fire Cor,etc

Vega Omega (INV/EM tank) is definitely going rogue. He can finally continue his futile search for his Brother (they meet in one of my AE arcs). I'm thinking that my new Baby fire/kin 'troller Jasmine Burns, and Tre Fog (Illusion/Storm) will go rogue as well. While Backstroke, (Ninja Blade/Ninjitsu Stalker) and Nuckin' Futz (thugs/pain MM) will find redemption. All of this depends on the requirements to switch, however, since none are 50 yet. Once I see the requirements, hell, I may even buy more slots.

I've never thought of any of my characters as inherently good or evil, so I suppose any of them could switch. As most who have read the backstory knows, all Ura is interested in is paying the Rikti back. So I would presume that if it involved kicking some Rikti around, he would switch.

The others? Just depends on opportunity. Mr. Deception would be the obvious choice, but none of my characters are married to their hero or villain persona.

Hunter lives on both sides already And it'll get worse eventually, but he doesn't know that. LOL

Subtle would jump simply because he isn't Heroic; he's a Stalker in a Stone Tank body.

Shorty could not be pulled from the Forces of Good by anyone. He is absolutely "innocent", and his understanding of "bad" is more rock solid than Subtle's Granite form. A trusted person could trick him once to do something shady, but not twice.

Scimmia (my PB) isn't inherently good, but he's idealistic enough that he wouldn't switch.

Working Class Dog might could dabble in good, since his "evil" is really just an anger issue...and a LOT of testosterone !

Killer Jill will be good again one day... but not soon.

Those are the top ones. I'm SERIOUSLY toying (yet again) with having my Ninja Blade stalker back on Protector, just so I can toy with the idea of someone with no real sense of right and wrong jumping back and forth between the two.

Kyo wouldn't go evil.

Snap Play might, if her partner crossed over...and he's usually on the line as it is, so who knows?

Hmm...all my villains are pretty evil. Can't see any of them going good.

I can imagine Bimbeaux being tricked into turning evil though.

Six-four, with his "ends justifies the means" attitude, is the best canidate for hero going evil. Six-four has the capacity to kill in cold-blood, there are some lines you cannot cross and still call yourself one of the "good guys". And, Conall (not the demon Conall Cian) is my best bet for villain finding redemption. Conall is a product of his environment, given the right circumstances he could "see the light".

Depending on how easy it is to swap sides, my two Epic Characters may end up 'floating'. Jovian Fury and Claw of Doom both have migrated to being a Hero or a Villain just because it offers them some good fighting.

I've got a level 50 brute, I'd switch him to hero side.

Just don't care for villain side.

Heck I have a stalker I could switch over to hero side too.

Hmmm... Well...
No one really cares about me but I like talking to myself so here goes nothing.

Shot hot, my blaster and first 50, was a thug before crossing dimensions and gaining amnesia. (his origin is entirely over complex and is meant to be parody of DC pre-crisis) I could certainly see him going rogue.

Poison Addiction, my main villain, is a tough one to call. He isn't really evil he just has a morally ambiguous way of recruiting help. (namely by using drugs) He probably won't cross over now that I think about it.

Xiel, my 39 controller (who I incidentally only created to test how fast I could level without farms post-I14), has had all his evil thoughts and passions psychicly expelled from his mind so I think evil is beyond him.

and that's all the characters I care about.

Of my current roster. Only my Stalker Kagebunshin would make the switch, and storywise, he'd only really do it if it was going to get him a step closer to getting out of this cursed dimension.

Everyone else is pretty set. But, well...things can happen...and brothers could end up on separate sides of the fence...

I haven't put alot of thought into this yet, but the main reason I would do it would be for badges. It would also depend on the consequences of switching.

As for story lines reasons... I can easily see Ycebergg crossing the lines, given the proper motivations...

i'm not sure yet, i'll have to wait to see how things work before i make a descision. the only toons that i have that really have a firm back story are Captain Baffo, UnFrightnablBoy and Lactose Man. i probably wont move any of them, except for UFB, who's my badge [censored]. my other's are just one off toons, so i will probably move one on each side, just to play around.
