Double XP weekend, your plans/totals

I've been having some health issues and thought I'd be stuck in bed all weekend. The ER doc gave me the all clear to sit at the computer, though. Whoohoo!

I'll be getting my brute to fifty after all. I may even have time to get my Warshade a few levels.

If I had had more time I would have been soloing SnapTooth with my troller, he's stupidly easy for him.

As it is, I only got to add a couple of levels to my DP/Traps Corr (still stuck in Praetoria!) but I did get my Mace/Inv brute to 20.

I took a mid-40s Mercs/Dark Mastermind that had been stalled out for the past couple of years for a run. I felt the Mercs were a bit weak overall and had been waffling on using a respec. My problem was that I was already 45 and I needed a personal armor, but I hadn't been able to decide on a Patron to go with. Even if I started a Patron arc, I wouldn't be able to get the armor until 49.

On Saturday, I finally bit the bullet and used a free respec figuring that I'd try to at least get the Mercs somewhat more survivable. To my delight, I saw regular Epic pools were available. I recalled reading patch notes about crossover Epics, but I guess I never made the connection that they would be available without doing a side switch.

So I got my armor and some extra powers due to Inherent Fitness. I also came across some new ideas for additional +def set bonuses that I'll have to consider for my other Mastermind. As a side effect, I spent half the day logging in and out characters at my other Bases to try to assemble the pieces for the Sets I decided to use. My play testing of the new build got me an additional level and more slots, so the character is better overall. I did have to workout how to play a Mastermind again.

That was Saturday. A couple of Double XP weekends ago I pushed my Henchmen-less Mastermind to level 20 for Stamina. I don't recall how I got it to 21, but that's where I started with it on Sunday. I completed 2 contacts (playing at -1 difficulty) in half a day and made it to 22 where I can finally slot it with decent enhancements (ie level 25 Common IOs).

Speaking of Common IOs, I had very little pre-crafted inventory going in to the event. Pretty much all I had were put up on Friday and I didn't intend to do much after that. As it turned out, I spent quite some time making and selling Common IOs. Unlike previous Double XP weekends, the assorted salvage required for Common IOs were still very cheap overall. Even the ones in low supply weren't "expensive". I was really surprised and I couldn't resist making the easy Inf.

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

I didn't have that much available double XP time, so I set a modest goal: My level 46 Scrapper had to hit 50 by local midnight tonight. Which is 20 minutes ago.

Result? After two Mothership raids, and one of the most fun ITF's I've run with a nearly all-melee team, she hit 50 in the last mission. Romulus is exceptionally good XP on double XP weekend. 215k per kill.

Then I took a fresh off the portal from Praetoria Controller and got her to 21 during a Rikti Invasion. Not much, but it's a nice bonus.

Ugh.

Well, we got the following pairs moved

Scrapper/Defender 48 to 50
Tank/Controller 33 to 34
Brute/MM 19 to 27
MM/Brute 5 to 17

I'm pleased.

Took my KM/SR scrapper from 32 to 39. Nothing compared to some of these 1-50 rushes but I'm pleased with it and like playing along the journey anyway. I really just wanted my AoE defense toggle at 35 and the rest was gravy.

Crystal Crag: 45 -> 46

A long term project of mine. This character, an Ice/Stone Tanker is super fun to play, but after a while I get headaches from the sounds of Stone Melee. I used the double XP to get him that little bit closer to 50.

Eschatomorpher: 38 -> 44

Lots of soloing. This is my current solo villain, so I played him when I needed my own pace. Lots of arcs and lots of arc bonuses! Demon/Thermal MM.

Electrinox: 34 -> 40

My current Pentacle Sunday session villain. Played him on Thursday for Quas' Thursday-Sunday. Soloed to 35, then got to 38 on an ITF and finished up the evening with some other Pentacle folks. Elec/Elec Blaster.

12000 Volts: 24 -> 27

Solo villain in waiting, but too much fun to just ignore him over double XP weekend. Did some random arcs. SS/Elec Brute.

Syncoptic: 22 -> 25

A great new concept vigilante I rolled up last week - he's the cause of fainting. You just can't see him when he makes others faint. Finished changing from hero to vigilante and stopped Amanda Gates. Claws/Dark Stalker.

Benny Brontes: 1 -> 22

New Pentacle Dominator, Grav/Psi. He's a Family Consigliere who lost an eye (Brontes is one of the Cyclopes) and gained psychic powers from Superadine abuse. Soloed to 8 Saturday night, teamed with Pentacle on Sunday, and then soloed from 19 to 22.

Alabaster Bones: 1 -> 12

New concept Rogue, Sonic/Kin COrruptor. Neat idea, but not sure if I'll continue playing her. Based on the Sirens of both classic mythos and O Brother Where Art Thou?

53 total levels, including 13 post-30 levels. And somehow I ended up with more food in the fridge at the end of the week than I had at the beginning.

...I forgot what experience means.

I took my Fire/Fire tank from 42 to 49 solely by doing 4 ITFs and an STF. I was hoping to hit 50, but it was my sister's last weekend in town before heading overseas for a teaching position, so I thought it more important to spend time with her.
Other than that, I picked up a level on a couple other minor alts.

Didn't do any other TF's after that.

I got to play a little bit last night. More than I expected. No levels.

I'd planned to focus on getting my Peacebringer to from the mid-40s up to 50, just to say I have one of every AT. Didn't get around to it.

I'd also planned to work on my namesake character, who's still hanging back at 33, and could have used the love. Didn't get to that, either.

I started playing a Claws/Ninja Stalker who I'd gotten to level 8 previously, and got completely carried away seeing how high I could get him in one double XP weekend. Ended up focusing on him completely, and in 2 nights, 2 days, got him from 8 all the way to 32, entirely solo, now that I think about it, too. It wasn't the most amazing 2XP weekend I've had, but in a way, it feels like one of the biggest achievements.

I didn't have that much time to play, but I got one of my goals done . . . my Earth/Storm started at 46 and finally hit 50. I got two levels on my Plant/Kin to 48. Two levels on my Demons/Pain MM to 22. A level on my DP/Dev Blaster to 40. A level on my KinMelee/Fire Scrapper to 22.

I learned that while an ITF is quick and easy with the right team build, that it can be somewhat slow with a good team on less-than-optimal characters, and very slow (and painful) on a not-as-good team on less-than-optimal Characters. A good tank can make all the difference, and a Warshade is not as good as a tank.

I accomplished my goals. I got my Warshade from 38 up to 50 (finally!) and got my defender from 47 up to 50 (also finally!). All in all a very successful weekend.

A pretty good weekend for me. I managed to get a total of 66 levels spread out over 14 toons, and boy was I tired after it was done! Lol.

I got my level 47 Thugs/Poison MM up to level 50: Started and finished the "Project Destiny" arc, started running tip missions on her (I hadn't played her in months!) and reaffirmed her alignment as a villain so that now she is on a "countdown to Frenzy", and ran the Mender Ramiel arc to open up the Alpha slot.

Now, I am starting to acquire IO sets for her (and later I will get some HOs), as up to then she'd been using nothing but generic IOs and SOs.

Of the EBs she had to face this weekend, she needed help on defeating both Lord Recluse and Trapdoor. The need for IO sets and Incarnate powers is imperative!

My two main projects got a good workout over the weekend.

My Emp/Sonic defender got from 33 to 36 and ran a Citadel on Saturday.

My Ice/Cold/Ice controller got from 41 to 46 and ran an ITF on Sunday.

Great fun.

I just took my lvl 39 corr and got him to 49.

I'd kind of been hoping to get my (veeeeery old) level 42 warshade to 50, but sadly only managed to get her to 46. I did take her on a Numina and an ITF though. Those were a blast, though I kind of felt sorry for the willpower tank on my ITF run last night. Poor guy died a lot.

I also took my level 26 (and highly cliche) demon/pain mastermind from 26 to 36. I didn't take her on anything special aside from one hero-side respec trial.

I managed to fit in a tiny bit of play. Not as much as I would have liked, but ya get that.

I managed to get my Thugs/Pain MM to 20 and flip to Hero-side. This is one of the two reasons I have come back after a year of not playing...

I always loved Master minds, but hated CoV. When I found out I could play an MM NOT in the rogue isles.. AND make him a hero at lvl 20, I rushed back to see how it felt.

(I also came back for the incarnates stuff of course... a couple of my 50 are my fave toons).

@VforVegan
The Nauseum (50) Kin/Rad/Psy Defender
Terror Storm (50) Ill/Storm/Ice Controller
Burn Bunny (50) Fire/Kin/Fire Controller
Michael Ebonheart (50) Warshade
Incredible Ism (50) Ill/Emp/Primal Controller
((and too many non-50s to list here...))

Final tally:

Yeti's Bride (ice/MM blaster) 1-50 and incarnate unlocked
Neptunium Knight (rad/fire bla) 42-47
Wind up merchant (KM/shield scrapper) 1-10
Stone cold kitty (stone/cold troller) 46-48

And about 1.5 BN made on the markets.

Not bad, and I was out most of Saturday.
