Also of note... With a Retina Macbook Pro, if you normally run your desktop scaled (i.e.: not the default 1440x900 "Best for Retina Display") you will have to turn off scaling to play... at least in my experience.

When I tried to play with the display scaled (I normally run mine at 1920x1200) the game launched and I could hear sound, but there was no video. Once I tried again without scaling the desktop, everything worked fine.

The black screen is happening for me too.

Both my 2.4GHz 20" iMac and my 2.66GHz i7 Macbook Pro

My 41 Ice/Shovel (BA) tank is one of my very favourite characters ever.

I have Aid Self slotted for interrupt, so between it, Hoarfrost and my maxed end bar and defense... I never feel even the slightest bit squishy. *shrug*

I managed to fit in a tiny bit of play. Not as much as I would have liked, but ya get that.

I managed to get my Thugs/Pain MM to 20 and flip to Hero-side. This is one of the two reasons I have come back after a year of not playing...

I always loved Master minds, but hated CoV. When I found out I could play an MM NOT in the rogue isles.. AND make him a hero at lvl 20, I rushed back to see how it felt.



(I also came back for the incarnates stuff of course... a couple of my 50 are my fave toons).

I use WASD (and X, I love flight) + mouselook for all movement. I have three trays out and visible and my powers arranged in them. I use the number keys for powers in combination with control and alt (actually mapped to option on my macs).

I dont have long spindly fingers so powers I need in the heat of battle are all in the first 4 slots of each tray. Toggles and things I can take the time to actually click get the other slots.

I also set up some keybinds like 'q' for 'targetenemynear', and 'e' for commonly used fast recharge powers (mostly heals or non-attack chain stuff).

Of course I use heaps of binds on my Kheldians and Masterminds. I used to use the numpad binds a lot, but my laptop is now more powerful, so I had to wean myself off of them, heh.

start reporting farms for content and the machine will bog down making it slower/harder to take down actually offensive content.

my friend's young son plays this game... let's concentrate on the real problems, not just play styles some people don't enjoy.

finally patched up and ready to go... let's see what happens..

ok. looked and ran great at default login settings (1024x768 @ recommended)

starting up again after changing to 1680x1050 @ recommended

here we go! (well, soon... takes forever to get on. assuming that is because the servers are getting hammered)

can the ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 128MB handle the game ok at decent settings? or am i going to have to ghetto-out? i have 4gb of ram, so that shouldn't be a problem... just worried about the gfx card.

every once in a while my bank would call me and ask if i wanted the NCSoft transaction to happen. it happened pretty regularly.

neither of my two 6-month transactions have been questioned by the bank, however (i switched from monthly to 6-monthly about 7 months ago).

weird that they don't care about irregular big transactions, but little monthly ones are an issue

On team larger than 3 during battles I get FPS around 5, any other time it seems to be fine hovering around 45 in the mission. It does not seem to be server lag, just client lag in FPS. I have turned down all my effects to no avail.

Has anyone test anything on the test server to see if it has been fixed or addressed?

same here only i have a 7600GS

i had all kinds of custom settings in I7 and they worked great... but last night in a last ditch effort to actually enjoy playing made some desperate changes.

[in the card's driver settings. not the game]
* AntiAliasing to x2
* Triple Buffering to ON
* Verticle Sync to ON

[then in the game's settings]
* disabled advanced setings and slid the slider all the way to the lowest setting
* brought the 3d resolution up to match the main resolution **

** i can't remember the exact names for these settings since i am at work, but it's the one where you can have the 3d part at a different resolution to the main/gui resolution? i used to have the main/gui res at 1280x1024 and the 3d down to something like 1024x672 or something... but for these tests i put it back up to match the main/gui res.



so anyway... that made the game playable even on a team with a Fire Controller. by "playable" i mean i almost never went into single digit framerates (more like 14-20 during firecages or certain areas on CoT maps). i still felt like i had some control in big battles (though still nowhere near as much as even a large GM or AV battle in I7) and it didn't look too gross. not as pretty as it should, but not blocky or blurry.

*sigh*

this might last me till they finally fix it.

yeah Fire Cages is one of the bad ones... it might always affect performance now, but it really hammers it into the ground on certain maps if it intersects with a wall.

splat goes the effect. splat goes my now single-digit framerate.
