AE & why I hate it now!

Ok this is a great idea & I congrats the Devs on it. Honestly its a great idea. My main problem now is that the farmers have made farming missions & now we have to weed out the real team requests from the farming ones. It was bad enough to see them spam farms, both free & ones you have to pay for, in PI & GV. Now we have to deal with it in all the zones with an AE building in it!! I was looking for a team in Talos. I was picked up & he said we doing a MA farm. I quit. Got picked up again for the same thing & again, I quit. So I started my own team. Got a few & they all quit since I was doing regular missions & not MA farm ones. I would like to know if there is anything the Devs can do to stop these farmers? AE has a lot of great possibilites but this is exploit plain & simple! These farmers charge players influ to join the farm team & get PLed. Now the players do that willingly & I can understand why but that doesn't change the fact. What is the point of playing a game when most of the people just rather get farmed & PLed?

Simple. Play in a quieter zone, and keep track of people who like to play like you do. I'm running a new SG that's MA only and haven't had trouble gathering new members and meeting people who aren't farming.

Indeed: you can enter almost any zone and still have access to AE.

Find which arc they're doing and report it for content?

After going though the game with my first two 50s it got to the point were i hated having to level up. Most of the missions were basically the same, save one guy, get a glowie, kill this guy, repeat. It was even worse when safeguards came out because the radio missions looked to have even less creativity in them than the arcs did. Not to mention having to deal with the all to often horrible PuG. (I will say the only arc i really enjoyed was the freakshow arc with the contact in IP, cant remember his name). It got to the point were i just didnt want to mess with it and, surprisingly, havent sense(even if i did i can always run any arc again via ouro). It was boring and not as much fun as it was the first or second time going through it.

I personally do it to 22 to buy SOs then i run TF after TF to level. theres more of a challenge with them, you get merits, lots of money, and I always try to do a speed run as kind of an extra bonus. As a matter of fact, I am also on the side of hating MA because it has taken most of the players and has made it increasingly harder to form said TFs.

This isn't a problem, it's a fact of life.

Report the mission for content, disable broadcast chat, play in a quieter zone, and live with the fact that not everyone plays like you do.

This, too.

I've seen several vanish. I mean, c'mon, when the lead dev says flat out "It's not for badging, it's not for farming," and there are blatant ticket farms (and badge farms for MA badges) in the freaking title of the mission?

I found a few, jotted them down - several were gone within two days. Whether they were pulled by the author or kicked out by CS, I don't know. I'd expect to see some churn there.

In any case - I've yet to be stuck on a farm team, or even invited to one, on any character. Quiet server, quiet zone, I'm good.

Can you please link where exactly it says making farms is against the rules?

As far as i'm concerned, i will only report an arc for content if it is in violation of copyright, language, sexual content, etc.

start reporting farms for content and the machine will bog down making it slower/harder to take down actually offensive content.

my friend's young son plays this game... let's concentrate on the real problems, not just play styles some people don't enjoy.

I think you're confusing playstyles with a mission that gives out rewards that are disproportional to the rest of the game.

No one really cares if someone likes doing a certain mission over and over. The problem occurs when the reward ratio is out of whack. When the later is happening that mission needs to be reported.

Mine was taken down last night. I republished it, and ran it again.

There's no point in trying to control a person play style, because I certainly will not bend.

I at least made mine amusing, and made a custom group of mutated animals which consist of cows and chickens

Of course, if you get that mission pulled again, you may lose your MA priviledges entirely...

Good point, I'll unpublish it after I'm done running it.

But here is the rub....I have yet to see any posts set by a red name to say that you should only be seeing X tickets/ badges/ exp/ inf per hour. I have seen that for merits, but even that is flexible based on builds, team, and experience. The dev's set the limits for the number of clickies, ambushes, boss mobs, etc for each map. So we are wrong for taking advantage of that when it is listed in architect for the world to see? If the dev's don't want me to do it, then they should reduce the "nodes" on their maps available for me to plug something into.

Everyone knows that if you want to tip the balance of the ticket gathering, just run solo...preferably padded...and you can cap out each mission. Synapse has stated that this is borked code and the fix hit Test already. That is the only fix i have heard so far. I work with what I am provided with. I do enjoy maximizing reward for time spent...I enjoy shaving seconds off TF times and wish that the game kept track of the offical record times so I could see what the "best" run is and work towards beating it. If the dev's don't want me to put 40 clickies in a mission, don't allow that many collection nodes on a map. Or atleast state anything more than X number of Y is wrong and we will take it down. Until that is done, giving something a terrible rating is your OPINION. Reporting someone because they have a farm published is griefing them and their playstyle. I truely hope that the CS team keeps logs so that patterns like that can be tracked and the false reporters can be banned from the architect.

There were warnings of consequences if the same arc has to be pulled down more than once. I believe if it were pulled down twice, you wouldn't be able to reupload it, and if you keep trying, you could face a temporary ban. It was either in one of the official releases or something the Greeters in the Architect buildings say, I can't remember.

So, while you may not bend, it's possible you could have your Architect access permanently revoked.

Learn to read.

I14 Code of Conduct:

NCsoft reserves the right to ban any missions that contain any exploits that provide unintended statistical advantages. Issue 14: Architect Release Notes

Apparently you are wrong. The people that CS will be banning are the people creating farms, not the people reporting them.

I saw a mission titled FarmoFarmoFarmoFarm made by @koreakorea

lmao

I think it was a farm...not sure though...I didnt run it and it was gone fast.

It doesn't say in the release notes that farms are illegal. All it says is that if if it contains an exploit it is bad. IF you make a map of 100's of self rezing whatsits to go and kill...you are well within your limits. If there is some bugged critter giving AV rewards and it's a pet that dies from 1 point of damage and you use that...that is an exploint and shold be reported. There is a big difference. Not all farms are illegal, just the ones using exploits. So, once again, I say I hope CS keeps track of those who over use the report system and there are concequences for their actions.

Posted

Farms are exploits. Pretending not to understand that isn't going to keep you from getting banned if you get caught making farms, and CS isn't going to punish people for showing they care enough about this game to report the very things they've been asked to petition.

I take it you are one of the farmers? Ok thats find. Farming a mission that you made isn't what makes me mad. Farmers spamming in the public chat channels like Broadcast , request, ect is what ticks me off. If you make a farming mission & you just PL SG friends or whatnot, thats fine. Its when I start a team or join a team & they just want a farming mission instead of regular missions, thats where the problem comes in. If you want to farm, then do it, just don't spam it in public chats. One of the coaliations that my SG has does a lot of farming. They PL SG & coali members & ask in coali chat if anyone wants in but they don't in public. That is how it should be done. While I still think its a exploit, I know that it most likely will never change. I know! All you farmers can make a channel & spam your farms in there. That way if people want to join a farm, they just join the channel & go from there. That way, everyone is happy.
